- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -ROCK - Ada Rock (nee MacLean) of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 1997 at the age of 90 years. Ada was born on September 7, 1907 in the Magdalen Islands, Quebec in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. As a young girl, she left the islands to work at Bishops College in Lennoxville, Que. where she met and married Frederick Rock. Upon the passing of her husband in 1948, Ada and her three children traveled west to Calgary where she resided until her passing. She is survived by two daughters and a son, Jean Harnes and Marion (Hans) Bauer of Calgary, and Charles (Alice) Rock of Val-des-Bois, Quebec; as well as five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Greta Turner and Mabel McRoberts; two brothers, Ralph MacLean and Ford MacLean; and a sister-in-law Marie McLean, and their families. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), today, December 16, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jagdutt Singh of Church of the Holy Nativity officiating. ROGERS - Bruce Wilfred (Buck) Rogers passed away unexpectedly in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on July 17, 1997 at age 78. He was predeceased by his first wife Frances Rogers on November 7, 1994. Buck is survived by his loving family, daughter Sheila (Vince) Wyse; and grandson Kenneth Wyse of Richmond, B.C.; his loving wife Velma (nee Green / Faulder) of Qualicum Beach, B.C.; and her daughters, Linda, Leith and Leslie. Buck was a retired Banker with the Royal Bank of Canada. He served overseas during World War II as a Corporal with the R.C.E.M.E.. His hobby was life and his beloved grandson Kenneth. A Memorial Service will be held at Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road, Richmond, B.C. on Wednesday, July 23, 1997 at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor John Syratt officiating. Cremation and Interment entrusted to Cedar Valley and Valley View Memorial Gardens. ROGERS - John (Jack) Alexander, beloved husband of Phyllis for forty-six years, and much loved Dad of Amber (Ken) Lupul, and loved Pa of Kirby and Keegan, passed away at the Forest Grove Care Centre on Tuesday, December 16, 1997 at the age of 74. Also survived by brothers, Bob (Irene), Gerry (Del); and sisters, Margaret, Jeannie, Marie; and brother-in-law Joe Seaman; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Jeannie and father William, his brother Willie and sisters, Louie, Lizzie, Mary and Marty. Jack was born March 5, 1923 in Calgary and served in the Royal Canadian Navy and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 154. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bruce Wheeler and the 100 Unit staff for their excellent, loving care and thoughtfulness when we needed it most. No Services as requested by family. ROGERS - Mrs. Xenia Rogers of High River passed away peacefully at the High River Hospital on Thursday, September 4, 1997 at the age of 93 years. Born in Kazan, Russia she moved to Canada in 1927 and farmed with her husband Michael in Southern Alberta until their retirement in 1968. She was predeceased by her husband in 1974. Xenia is survived by one son Edward (Joanne) Rogers, Calgary; two daughters, Natalie (Alex) Wilkinson and Olga (Dave) Cote of High River; nine grandchildren, Chris (Mary) Rogers, Texas, Kathy (Al) Brown, Calgary, Jon (Bicky) Rogers, Edson, Tim (Pearl) Rogers, Edmonton, Michelle Rogers, Shelley (Merv) Hesla, Terri Wilkinson, Calgary, Wendy (Doug) Kennedy, High River, Lynn (Kenn) Jennyc, Calgary; two step-grandchildren, Dainard and Bart Willisko and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Igor Zuev in the Ukraine and numerous other relatives in Russia. Mother will always be remembered for her love and patience and the ever-present twinkle in her eyes. ROHL - Rev. Henry Rohl, beloved husband of Mrs. Marie (Mary) Rohl of sixty-four years, of Calgary, passed away at the Forest Grove Care Centre on July 5, 1997 at the age of 88 years. He was born in Jagodnaja, Russia and came to Canada as a child settling in Alberta. His many endeavors ranged from farming, contracting and evangelistic ministry, part-time opening new churches and ministering since 1952 in B.C., Peace River District, New Brunswick and the Philippines. Besides his beloved wife, he is lovingly remembered by three sons, Ken (Helen), Douglas (Linda) and Bruce; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; as well as a sister Mary Kaiser; two brothers, George (Bertha), William (Ollie); two brothers-in-law, Harold Scott, Lawrence (Joan) Kraft; two sisters-in-law, Florence Rohl and Rose Rohl. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells", (2720 Centre Street North), today, July 9, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. John W. Lucas II and Rev. ROLSTON - Mr. William (Bill) Rolston of Cochrane, Alberta, passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta, on December 15, 1997 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife Helen; three children, Bill (Jeanette), Don (Lynn), Barb (Steve); six granddaughters, one great-granddaughter; a brother Robert (Frances); and a brother-in-law Jake Sevrens. Bill served six years in the Royal Canadian Engineers. After his discharge he attended the University of Alberta graduating with a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, later receiving a Master's Degree at Stanford University in California. Soon after graduating he joined the firm of Associated Engineering Services Ltd., working for them until he retired to the Cochrane area. In accordance with his wishes, Cremation has taken place and no Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Bill's memory may be made directly to the "Stars Foundation" Southern Alberta Shell Aerocentre, 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Box 570, Calgary, Alberta T2E 8M7. VAAST - Marie Josephine of Drumheller, passed away November 21, 1997. Marie is survived by one son Bob (Jean) Vaast of Calgary; one daughter Janette D'Arcy of Drumheller; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. VAILLANT - Mr. Andre Jerry Joseph Vaillant passed away suddenly on September 6, 1997 as a result of a train accident in Carstairs, Alberta, at the age of 22 years, beloved son of Louise and Mike Kaszuba, and dear fiance of Courtney Thompson. He is also survived by his grandparents, Gerard and Helen Racine; his aunt Dione Lasalle; and his uncles, Andre Racine and Jacques Racine.
