- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -TUCKER - Mr. Percival Douglas (Doug) Tucker, beloved husband of Mrs. Ruth Tucker of Calgary, passed away at his home on December 2, 1997 at the age of 94 years. Born in Bath, England, he came to Calgary in 1914 and has resided here since. Mr. Tucker was employed with the C.P.R. for fifty years retiring in 1968. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Talty of Calgary; two grandchildren, Brian (Heather) of Gibbons, Alberta, Donna (Curtis Lang) of Calgary; three great-grandchildren, John, Liam and Maureen Talty. He is also survived by a brother and two sisters-in-law, Len and Pat Tucker and Marion Tucker, all of Calgary. He was predeceased by three brothers, Stan, Reg and Cyril. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at McINNIS and HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells" (2720Centre Street North), on Saturday, December 6, 1997 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Calgary Humane Society (S.P.C.A.), 1323- 36 Avenue N.E., Calgary, Alberta T2E 6T6. TUPPER - Mavis Edna Tupper of Calgary, Alberta, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on December 25, 1997, after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the age of 79 years. Mavis was born and educated in Calgary. In 1942, she married Glenn Tupper and they had one child, Alfred, who predeceased her. Mavis moved to Winnipeg and was a private secretary for the Jesuit College until her retirement in 1983, at which time she moved back to Calgary. She will be sadly missed by all her friends. Mavis is survived by her brother-in-law Al Perrin of Calgary; two nephews, Ted Perrin of Victoria, B.C., and Robert Perrin of Calgary; and a niece Rosemary and Rick Kry and their family of Calgary. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS and HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells" (2720 Centre Street North), on Monday, December 29, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Special thanks to the staff of Unit 42 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital for the very special care they gave Mavis during her extended stay there (12/27/1997).
TURANSKI - Robert (Bob) William Patrick Turanski, beloved spouse of Timothy Hunt of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on November 25, 1997 at the age of 41 years. He was born in Vernon, B.C., July 3, 1956. Bob was a hair stylist and employed by Francesco's Hair Design in Chinook Centre. He is also survived by his parents, Bill and Terry of Vernon, B.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Willy and Susan of Kamloops, B.C.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Trish and Gerald Ertmoed, and Tanny and Roy Maxson, all of Vernon, B.C.; three nieces, Amanda, Sara and Michelle; three nephews, Matthew, Andrew and Ryan; grandmother Rose Blair and her husband Wilf of Vernon, B.C.; and numerous other relatives. Bob is also survived by Timothy's parents, Joyce and Bill Hunt, his brother Darrion and his sister Rayna, all of Calgary. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells" (2720 Centre Street North) today, November 29, 1997 at 4:00 p.m., with the Rev. SCOTT - James Edward Scott, of Calgary, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on June 11, 1997 at the age of 92 years. He is survived by his loving daughter Mary (Henry) Schaap of Calgary; son-in-law Ray Kerr of Surrey, BC; four granddaughters, Heather, Joanne, Deanna and Tracy; and two great-grandchildren, Claire and Robert. Jim is also survived by his brother, sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Myrtle and his daughter Doreen Kerr. Jim was born in Antler, NWT in 1904. He moved to Red Deer as a child. Jim married Myrtle Albert in Red Deer in 1929, then they moved to Calgary in 1934 where he resided till his passing. Jim worked for Canadian Pacific Railway for forty-seven years, till his retirement. He spent his winters in Arizona for fifteen years, with his wife Myrtle. Jim had resided in the Bethany Care Centre for the last seven years. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel at MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. SCOTT - Leslie Eleanor Scott, age 83 years, passed away at the Fanning Centre, November 21, 1997. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Lynne (Allan) Paul and Jamie Scott of Calgary, she is also survived by three grandchildren, Brad and Brent Connors, and Kevin Scott. WOJTKIW - Iwan (John) Wojtkiw passed away at his residence on June 12, 1997 at the age of 77 years, beloved husband for fifty years of Mrs. Maria Wojtkiw; dear father of John (Elaine), Brian and Tammy; and dearly beloved grandfather of Jeremy, Chris and Allison, all of Calgary. He is also survived by two sisters, one brother and nephews and nieces in Ukraine. John was predeceased by one brother and one sister in Ukraine. He was born in Nowyj Staw, Lviv, Ukraine and moved to England in 1947. John came to Canada in 1959 to Calgary and resided in Calgary since. He was a carpenter by trade and was employed with Genstar Housing for a number of years until his retirement. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for Prayers at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (704 - 6 Street N.E.), on Sunday, June 15, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church on Monday, June 16, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. WOLFE - Edna Marie Wolfe, beloved wife of Fenn, passed away suddenly on June 4, 1997 at the age of 72 years. Besides her loving husband, she is also survived by her children, Edwin Richardson, Wayne (Kathleen) Wolfe, Linda (Brian) Moorcroft, Marvin Wolfe, Frances (Don) Stern-Wolfe, and Darcy (Rita) Wolfe; fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother Andy (Peg) Thompson; and two sisters, Alpha Thompson and Agnes Grant; as well as numerous other relatives. WYATT - Kari Leigh Wyatt, beloved eight year old daughter of Eric and Brenda Wyatt of Airdrie, passed away suddenly at Wasa Lake, BC, on July 21, 1997. Kari was born April 30, 1989 in Leduc, AB and attended kindergarten there. She began Grade One at A.E. Bowers School in Airdrie, where she was going to go into Grade Three this fall. She was active with the Brownies, Airdrie Soccer and loved to sing and dance. Kari was a great organizer, loved to do crafts and was a very thoughtful little girl. We will miss finding her love notes under our pillows each night. Besides her loving parents, Kari will be sorely missed by her six year old twin brothers, Aaron and Cameron. She is also survived by her grandparents, Doris and Norman Gellert of Thorsby, AB, Hans and Val Meyer of Vernon, BC, Dolores and Ernest Wyatt of Edmonton, AB; her great-grandmother Marie Meyer of Leduc, AB; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Kari will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
