- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -UPPAL - Mrs. Bachint Kaur Uppal, wife of the late Arjan Singh Uppal (retired S.D.O.) passed away Saturday, December 6, 1997 at the age of 82 years. She was born in Mohie, India, on January 20, 1915. Mrs. Uppal is survived by her sons, Gurdev (Manjit) and Avtar (Sarbjit); as well as her daughters, Hardev (Mohinder) Sidhu, Baldev Dhanoa, Updesh Kaler and Jagdev (Joginder) Sidhu; she also leaves her seventeen grandchildren and her seventeen great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all of these children, especially those close to her in Canada. Funeral Services will be held at the CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, located at3219 - 4 Street N.W. UY BOMPING - Petronila Uy Bomping passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on Monday, October 20, 1997 at the age of 93 years. She is survived by her son Roberto (Dory) of Hawaii; daughters, Loreta Lasig and Estelita (Nick) Sanchez, both of Calgary; and daughter-in-law Josie Uy of California; ten grandchildren, Rosalinda, Raquelle (Romel), Robert, Roseanne, Rosemarie of Calgary; Ritchie, Ruth, Robert and Rocky of the Philippines; Philip Jose of California; and two great-grandchildren, Kristina and Kristoffer of Calgary. She is predeceased by her husband Felipe, son Jaime, and son-in-law Renato. Visitation will be held at Pierson's Funeral Home, 4121 - 17 Avenue S.E. on Wednesday, October 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, October 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. also at Pierson's Funeral Home. COCKS - Mrs. Margaret Cocks, beloved wife of George Cocks of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 1997 at the age of 71 years. Margaret also leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Bill Cocks of Medicine Hat, and Ed (Debbie) Cocks of Edmonton; one daughter Janet (Peter) Tertzakian of Calgary; four grandchildren; and one brother William P. (Beth) Mogridge of Calgary. The Funeral Service will be held in the St. John's Presbyterian Church, 504 - 2 Street S.E., Medicine Hat, on Saturday, December 13, 1997 at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend David Paterson officiating. Interment will follow on Sunday in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery. COLEMAN - Mr. Calvin K. Coleman of Calgary, peacefully passed away at home, November 17, 1997. Cal was born in Camrose, Alberta and worked in broadcasting from 1956 to 1984 at which time he went into the field of Numismatics and writing. Cal is survived by his companion and best friend Deanna Steiert. He is also survived by a sister Karen LeBel of Dallas, Texas; an aunt Bernadette Robertson, and cousins. Cal was predeceased by his mother Patricia Irene LaFreniere father George Richard Kitchener Coleman, and his stepfather Bert LaFreniere. At Cal's request, there will be no formal Funeral Service. MUELLER - Mr. Helmut Mueller went to be with his Lord Jesus on Friday, June 27, 1997 at the age of 60 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Hal, his wife Julie, and grandson Matthew Dean, all of Red Deer; his ex-wife Elona of Calgary; his brother Hugo (Erika) of Bowden; his father Robert; brothers, Adolf, Gerhard (Uschi); sister Hilde (Klaus), all of Germany. He was predeceased by his mother Helene, and brother Albert, also of Germany. Born in Hoffnungstal, Bessarabien, Rumania on September 10, 1936, he came to Canada in 1958. He was self-employed as a drywall contractor for many years as well as working as a Realtor and for the C.P.R. He was a loving, giving man, always there for his family and will be greatly missed. Services will be held at Salem Evangelical Missionary Church, 235 - 8A Street N.E., Calgary, AB, Saturday, July 5, 1997 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Colin Meikle officiating. MUGLER - Mr. William (Bill) F. Mugler of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Glenmore Park Auxiliary Hospital on Sunday, November 23, 1997 at the age of 88 years. Bill was born in Perry, Oklahoma, U.S.A. on April 20, 1909. He spent his early years in the southern states, moving to Calgary in 1949. Bill spent his working life in the oil and gas industry, retiring from Pancanadian Petroleum, Ltd. as Vice President - Land Department in 1974. He was the last surviving child of Fred and Katie Mugler, Oklahoma Land Rush Pioneers. Bill was a graduate of the Oklahoma University, a member of PHI KAPPA PSI Fraternity and played football with the Oklahoma Sooners. Bill was a member of the Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, as well as the Calgary Petroleum Club. Bill is the loving father of a son, Fred of Calgary; two daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and her husband Jake Born of Langdon, Alberta, Kay and her husband Adrian Borovec of Red Deer, Alberta; as well as four grandchildren, Elliott, Becky, Nick and Nadine; and one great-grandson Clinton. MURISON - Mrs. Phyllis Louise (nee McMillen) passed away at her home on September 30, 1997 at the age of 63 years.She is survived by her loving husband Bob, Calgary; son Steve, Calgary; daughter and son-in-law, Barb and Greg Lomow of Herndon, Virginia; her sister Pat Hornecker, Nanton; and eleven nieces and nephews. She received her early education at Banff and Nanton. Graduated from the Holy Cross School of Nursing in 1955. Received her ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music in 1973 and a B.A. from the University of Calgary in 1982. Her children were her pride and joy. COLUMBUS - Mrs. Julia Columbus passed away October 7, 1997 at the Foothills Hospital. Julia was 73 years old and is survived by eight children, Bennie, Cathrine, Connie, Monica, Dolly, Gloria, Arthur, and Johanna; twenty-six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and special friends, Mrs. Samy, and Mark. She will be remembered as a strong women who was dedicated to her family, and God. Thank-you for giving us so much of your life, we love you.
