- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -TROTTIER - Serge Leon Trottier, beloved husband and best friend of Dana, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Monday, November 10, 1997. He was born in Alexandria, Ontario on November 17, 1949 and moved to Calgary in 1976 for the love of mountains and fresh air. In just this past August, Serge was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. While adapting to his illness, Serge never stopped his love of cars and car racing. He and Dana made trips to Whistler and Whitefish and always searched for the ultimate stretch of open and winding roads that gave him much happiness and joy. As an active member of the Porsche Club of America - Wild Rose Region, Serge loved to autocross, work on his silver bullet and "kick tires" with the guys. Serge's career in the printing industry brought him to Alcraft Printing in Calgary and his meticulous ways and eye for craftsmanship brought him to shops like Paperworks Press and McAra Printing. Predeceased by his brother Alain in 1978. Besides his wife Dana, he leaves behind his parents, Armand and Rita Trottier; sisters, Suzette (Bernie) Legault, Colette (James) Somerville, Darquise Trottier; nephew and nieces, Jean, Michelle and Melanie, all of the Cornwall, Ontario area; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Serge will be sadly missed by his driving partner Dana, his family, co-workers and all the friends he shared his life with. The family would like to thank everyone for their generous outpouring of love and support, especially Angelika Gordon, Dr. Coderre, Dr. Wolch and the nurses and staff of Units 54 and 43 of the Peter Lougheed Centre. TSAPRAILIS - Mrs. Helen Tsaprailis of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre on November 5, 1997, at the age of 94 years. Helen was born in 1903 in Veta Marathos, Karditsa, Greece. She immigrated to Canada in 1962 and settled in Calgary where she had resided until the time of her passing. Helen had six children, three sons and three daughters. The youngest child died at the age of two and the oldest died in Boston, Mass., U.S.A. in 1993. Helen will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Niki, Louis and Helen, and Peter and Sophia and their families; and by her daughter Alexandra Papageourgeou of Athens, Greece. She will also be remembered by her fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Lampros D. Tsaprailis, who died in the Greek Civil War of 1947. TUCKER - Harold Edward Tucker - September 4, 1928 to November 15, 1997. After a valiant effort for life, Harold passed away at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm surrounded by love from his wife and loved ones. Born and raised in the Calgary area, Harold met Pat and they were married in 1952. In the spring of 1958 they went North to the Yukon.They resided there until 1971 when they moved to Salmon Arm where they made their home.His love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew him. He had a never-ending ability to fix things and his sense of humour was with him until the very end. Harold was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many and will be missed dearly by his wife Pat; son Kerry (Julie) of Calgary; daughter Shannon; two grandchildren, Lindsay Patricia and Ethan Edward; brothers, Elma (Odella) of Alix, Alberta, Doug (Janice) of Salmon Arm, Don (Shirley) of Airdrie, Alberta, Harry (Margaret) of Calgary and Tom (Susie) of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Blanche Stewart of Black Diamond, Alberta, Isabel (Harold) Bryant of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Gladys (Forest) Nicholls of Calgary, Thelma Gunderson of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Betty Mickle of Chetwyne, B.C. and Doris Speer of Rimbey, Alberta.Harold is also survived by his long-time special friend Joe Kutchan; as well as numerous other friends. He was predeceased by his father and mother. Visitation was held at Bowers Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Service was held from the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home on Friday, November 21 at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Darryl Auten officiating. WOLFE - Elmer Arthur passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Friday, July 11, 1997. Elmer was the beloved husband and constant companion of fifty-five years to Ida. He will be sadly missed by his sister Alice Helwig (Hugh); his brother Archie (Violet); his niece Ardith Grassl (Joe); as well as several extended family members. Elmer was predeceased by his parents, John and Pauline, and his nephew Milton Helwig. Elmer was a long time employee of Canada Safeway Ltd., retiring in 1982, and he was also a lifetime member of the Elks. He was an avid golfer, and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. SEAMAN - Donna Marie, beloved wife and best friend of Dennis, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on November 12, 1997. She is also survived by her daughter Lisa; sons, Shane, Jody and Kelly; grandchildren, Chelsea, Alyx, Brittany and Casey; her sister Susan Hills (Bill); niece Sarah and nephew Jessie; special aunt Bella Eden; daughter-in-law Sue Chambers; sister-in-law Deb Seaman; as well as several other relatives in British Columbia. Donna was born in Vancouver in 1942 and moved to Calgary where she attended Viscount Bennett High School and the University of Calgary. She taught with the Calgary Board of Education until she left to raise her family. Her special loves in life included family, especially children, friends, animals, plants, the ocean, reading, art and science. A life lived in kindness, gentleness and unconditional love is the precious legacy she leaves to family and friends. We mourn our loss but are grateful her suffering has ended and she can now walk peacefully in the fields and along the shores of eternity. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff in I.C.U., Unit 61, Unit 74 and the P.R.E.P. Unit at Rockyview Hospital for their efforts and compassion in caring for Donna. Special thanks to Dr. Ziegler and Dr. Manderson. A private family Memorial Service, as Donna requested, will be held in the near future. SEATON - Dorothy Seaton, aged 94, passed on suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on December28, 1997. She was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1989 and her brother Fred in 1980.Dorothy will be sadly missed by her daughter Valerie (Patrick) Scholefield, with whom she lived for the past eight years; her son David (Margaret) Seaton, Taunton, England; and five grandchildren, Duncan, Fiona and Alistair (England), Robert and Deborah (Calgary); as well as many friends and relatives. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. Andrew's United Church, 128 - 1 Street East, Cochrane on Saturday, January 3, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Cochrane Humane Society (12/31/1997).
SEDDON - Johanna Seddon of Calgary, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on June 21, 1997 at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1990. A Family Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
