MORROW - Mrs. C. Elsie (Knudson), passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre on Friday, November 28, 1997. Her 92 years were lived to the fullest, and generously shared with her devoted family. She was predeceased by her dear Eddie Knudson in 1970, her son George Knudson in 1989, and C. Roy Morrow, her husband of ten years, in 1991. Elsie was born in Whitehaven, England and emigrated with her mother and father to Winnipeg where she established a wide circle of friends that were cherished for a lifetime. She and Eddie moved in 1968 to Toronto to be close to family there. Elsie's endearing sense of humor and kinship brought many new friendships in the twenty years she lived in Toronto. Among the most valued was her introduction to Roy Morrow whom she married in 1981. Roy and Elsie moved to Calgary in their eighties filled with the sense of adventure and positive outlook that guided both of their lives. We are very thankful for the last years that she shared with her growing family in Calgary. She will be fondly remembered as a strong and loving mother by her children, John Knudson and his wife Joy of Winnipeg; her daughters, Bea Hardy and Dianne Knudson; and her daughter-in-law Shirley Knudson of Toronto. She will be deeply missed by her ten grandchildren, Zoe Williams (Peter), Pam Hardy (Chuck), Leigh Hardy (Jeff), Rod Hardy, Kerri Knudson, Campbell Knudson, Curtis Knudson (Yoko), Kevin Knudson (Anndri), Paul Knudson (Wendy) and Dean Knudson. Elsie's six great-grandchildren were also fortunate to have been touched by her loving spirit, Anna and Sacha Williams, Jesse and Renee Samuels, and Ethan and Emma Crane. Elsie's devoted work with the Women's Auxiliary of the Anglican Church, and hours of volunteer time in hospitals brought her real satisfaction. She was a keen gardener but most of all she cultivated love and respect wherever she spent time. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made directly to the Beverly Centre Garden Fund, (1729 - 90 Avenue S.W., T2V 4S1). A Private Family Funeral Service will be held for Elsie. As a tribute to Elsie, LEYDEN'S will make a donation to the Beverly Centre Garden Fund. Arrangements in care of LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOMES LTD., "Golden Rule Member". (12/1/1997).

MORTON - We are saddened by the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister on Tuesday, September 16, 1997. Muriel Kathleen was born April 14, 1922, the fifth of eight children of Owen and Mollie Craig of Vulcan, Alberta. In 1941, she became the young bride of Les Christensen. They farmed for several years in the Champion district where they raised four children, Marilyn, Judy, Nancy and Keith. Kaye was always an active and valued contributor to community life in Champion. Her love of music and young people led her to serve as long-time director of the United Church Junior Choir and as leader of CGIT, Explorer and Sunday School groups. She also valued the camaraderie and support of her friends in the Felicity Club. Later, she moved to Calgary and built a new career as a respected medical records administrator. In 1971, Kaye married Arthur Morton. Together they have shared many happy years square dancing and traveling the world, and have enjoyed the close friendship of their neighbors on Vancouver Crescent. The joy and pride Kaye had in her twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren gave her much strength through her lifetime, and she never missed an opportunity to participate in family activities. For this we remember her - she will always be our "Grandma Precious". A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Crowfoot Chapel" (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Friday, September 19, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heartwood Bursary, Naramata Centre, Box 68, Naramata, B.C., V0H 1N0, or to the Alberta Literacy Foundation, No. 211, 332 - 6 Avenue S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2G 4S6.
