ELLIOTT - Roxine Coral, passed away July 6, 1997 at the Rockyview Hospital, at the age of 51 years. Married thirty years, she is survived by her husband Wilfred; and her sons, Charles and Daniel; also brothers, Ben and Terry; and a sister Cheryl. ELSAESSER - Eldon Manfred passed away at the Foothills Hospital on October 23, 1997 at the age of 35 years. Eldon is survived by his loving mother Grace Elsaesser; his brother Derek and sister-in-law Nancy of Ottawa; his brother Scott of Calgary; his maternal grandmother Anne Kerychuk of Edmonton; his favorite Aunts, Pearl Tremblay of Chapleau, Ontario and Shirley Wiwad of Edmonton; his Uncle Ray Wiwad; and his "adopted" Aunt and Uncle, Phyllis and Cyril Britton of Canoe, BC. He is also survived by his many friends who will miss him, especially at the Karaoke Bars. Eldon was predeceased by his father Manfred in 1973. Eldon graduated from James Fowler High School in 1981 and spent most of his working life as a driver or salesman of a variety of vehicles. He loved cars and car racing. He was also a lifelong Star Trek fan and had a substantial collection of memorabilia, and hundreds of books and video tapes of all the television series and movies. Following the Cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 27, 1997 at FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES "Garden Chapel" at 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary. ENEVOLDSEN - Cecil Harold Enevoldsen, passed away peacefully at the Bethany Care Centre on Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at the age of 84 years. Cecil is survived by his loving family, daughter Carol Hamilton; grandchildren, Carolyn (Bob), Michelle, Kevin (Ginette); five dear great-grandchildren, Melissa, Monica, Suzanne, Mitchell and Megan. He is also survived by three sisters, Elma Tyler, Muriel Davis and Helen (Clem) Billings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1987 and his brother Floyd in 1991. Born in Harmatten, Alberta, Cecil spent his adult life in Calgary, serving with the Royal Canadian Airforce during World War Two following which he was an owner operator with both United Taxi and Yellow Cab, he then was in charge of ground transportation at the Calgary International Airport until his retirement. FARQUHARSON - Phyllis Irene (nee Massie), beloved wife and companion of Melvin Farquharson, went to be with the Lord on July 17, 1997 at the age of 66 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Phyllis was the loving mother of a daughter Terry (Brian) Wilson; and grandmother to Tara and Brad Wilson. She is also survived by a special niece Cathy-Anne (Jim) Horne, and their girls; three sisters, Jean Cochrane, Doris (Don) Wyman, Joyce (Harry) Roth; a brother Dale (Beth) Massie; a brother-in-law Howard (Vola) Farquharson; many nieces and nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Lydia Massie in 1981 and 1996 respectively, a brother-in-law Keith Cochrane, and a niece Debra Gundlock. Phyllis lived most of her life in the Madden district before retiring to Calgary in 1976. She and Mel were in the forty-eighth year of marriage. Phyllis was very active in the Crossfield Baptist Church and later the Brentview Baptist Church where she was a member. She will always be remembered for her ability to make visitors very welcome in her home where she was a very efficient homemaker and cook. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Phyllis was devoted to her family and friends and she will be missed greatly by them all. Funeral Services will be held in the Brentview Baptist Church, 3512 Charleswood Drive N.W., Calgary (parking in Brentwood Shopping Centre), on Sunday, July 20, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. JEFFREY - Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) McCulloch Jeffrey (nee Paton) of Calgary, passed away suddenly at her residence on Friday, November 7, 1997, at the age of 83 years. Betty will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Jean Couch; and two grandsons, Douglas Couch and Andrew Couch all of Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband Bert in 1960. Betty was born in Scotland in 1914 residing there until 1993, when she immigrated to Canada to join her family. She readily adapted to her new friends who will miss her dearly. JENISH - Evelyn Marie Jenish of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 4, 1997 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 57 years. Evelyn was born Tuesday, February 13, 1940 in Estevan, SK and moved to Calgary in 1962. She was a loyal parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral and was actively involved in St. Vincent de Paul through Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Evelyn always said that one of her greatest moments in life was the birth of her grandson Tanner Alexandre Wagemans on Friday, November 10, 1995; and her greatest weakness - chocolate. She will always be remembered for her talents of sewing, making stuffed toys, her love of cooking and entertaining guests and always taking the time to be a mentor to those who needed her. Evelyn is the loving mother of two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanna and Christopher Neil Slimm, and Jennifer and Daniel Wagemans; as well as loving grandmother to her grandson Tanner Alexandre Wagemans, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her sister Marlene Simpson of Fort St. John, BC. JENKINS - Craig Douglas (C.J.), born September 20, 1949 in Calgary, Alberta, passed away suddenly on July 19, 1997. C.J. was a remarkable husband, father, and caring person who lived his dreams. He will be fondly remembered by his wife Terri; by children, Casey and Cayley; stepchildren, Shelina and Bruce; his mother June, father Fred, and sister Kathy from Sidney, B.C.; his cousins, and by his many friends. JOHNSTON - Rodney Theodore Johnston, loving husband of Thelma Johnston, High River, formerly of the Dinton district, passed away at the High River Hospital on October 15, 1997 at the age of 87 years. Besides his wife Thelma, Rod is survived by his daughters, Joyce and Vic Willoughby, Red Deer, and Marian and Bill Benner and Margaret and Walter Hubarewich, all of Calgary; his sons, David and Joy Johnston, Red Deer and Dennis Theodore (Ted) and Helen Johnston, Calgary; nineteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Lila Peckham, Calgary. Rod was predeceased by his sisters, Elma Hall, Dorothy Paul, Marjorie Peckham and Irma Bishop. Service will be held at the High River United Church on Saturday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m., Sue MacDonald of Blackie-Gladys United Church officiating.
