JOLITZ - George William Jolitz passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 1997 at the age of 78 years. Predeceased by his wife Marjorie in 1982. George is survived by his daughter Pamela Bil; three grandchildren, Allan, Rhonda and Dennis, all of Calgary; and a sister Evelyn of Port Alberni, B.C. He was proud of his many years as an engineer with the Canadian National Railway. Respecting his wishes, no formal Service will be held. JONASSON - It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Jean. We are comforted to know that she went quickly and quietly with a stroke. Barbara was born in Trail, B.C. in 1955 and moved with family to Winnipeg in 1956, Regina in 1968 and on to Calgary in 1972. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario. Barbara had a lot of pain in her life but a great sense of humor, loved horses, cats and dogs. She will be sadly missed by her parents, Ray and Jean of Calgary; her friend Don Bewley; brother Kris and wife Esther and niece Laura of Vancouver; brother Carl of Calgary and his children, Lauren and Jordan who were a delight to her as they were a part of her life from the time they were born and she saw a lot of them. No flowers and no Service by request. Cremation and ashes will be returned to Manitoba for burial (10/23/1997).
KERBES - Helen. It is with great sadness that we announce that after a courageous fight against cancer, Helen Berneice Kerbes of Boyle, Alberta, died on Monday, October 22, 1997 at the age of 61. She is survived by her partner in life, husband Jim; her daughter Janice (Rex); Helen's two sons, James (Kamala), John (Bernadette); her eight grandchildren, Rex Jr., Nathan, Rylan, James, Stephanie, Jalina, Kimberly and Jennifer; two brothers, Bill and Howard Muhlback; three sisters, Doris Hennel, Ruth Kromm, Ruby Jolly and families. She was predeceased by her parents, Fredrick and Kathryn Muhlback, and her second born son Ronald Wayne of twenty-eight years. Helen achieved success; she laughed often and loved much. She had the respect of people and the love of children. She filled our hearts with love and our souls with music. She has left the world better than she found it. Helen looked for the best in others and gave the best she had. Her strength through difficulties was an inspiration. She loved us with all her heart. We were blessed each and every day and we loved her for all of that. Cremation has taken place. It was Helen's request to have a private family Service, but she has asked us on her behalf to say good-bye to her wonderful neighbors and friends. Throughout the years, you meant a lot to her. For those of you who wish to donate, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Centre of Edmonton or of one's choice (12/21/1997).
KERBY - William (Bill), age 64, beloved husband of Melba Kerby passed away on July 19, 1997 at the Rockyview Hospital from the complications of Scleroderma. Besides his wife of forty-five years, Bill is survived by his sons, Allan and Brian (Janice McInulty); and brothers, Jim (Lila) and George (Jo); brothers and sisters-in-law, Allan (Muriel) Lindquist, Jim (Shirley) Lindquist, Keryle (Duane) Amidon; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his Father (Alfred), his Mother (Eva), and sisters, Eva Learned and Norma Pieschel. Bill was a native Calgarian and was employed by Woodward's Stores for twenty-five years. He was a devoted husband and father and will be sadly missed by the many people he knew and touched. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bill's favourite charity, the SPCA (Humane Society) 1323 - 36 Avenue N.E. T2E 6T6. KERELUK - Mr. Edwin (Ed) Kereluk, beloved husband of Mrs. Florence Kereluk of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on November 22, 1997, after a lengthy illness at the age of 79 years, two days prior to their fifty-second wedding anniversary. Ed, Florence and family moved from Manitoba to Calgary in 1967 where he continued his trade as a heavy duty mechanic until his retirement with Bates Equipment. Besides his loving wife, Ed is survived by a son and seven daughters, Marilyn (Tom) Roberts, Caroline (Jim) Barclay, Sherron (Norm) Milan, Blaine Kereluk, Corinne (Bill) Macdonald, Darlene (Ron) Newman, Wanda Kereluk, Teryle Lynne (Scott) Ratushny; ten grandchildren, Ryan, Tracy, Tom, Cory, Jessica, Teryle Lynn, Tristan, Billy and Ty; as well as a great-grandson Ryan. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Olga, Helen, Victor, Grace, Orest, Ann, Peter, Victoria and Lorraine and their families. Ed was predeceased by his father William in 1966, his mother Mary in 1980, and granddaughter Carrie Ann in 1968. MADSEN - Ejnar Blaesbjerg of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Saturday, December 13, 1997 at the age of 65 years. Ejnar was born February 03, 1932 in Skjelbak, Denmark, the youngest of twelve children. In 1956 Ejnar emigrated to Canada and settled directly in Calgary. Through association with Sharon Lutheran Church, he met and marriedJoyce Slinn in 1958. Together they raised five children. In 1972 Ejnar took over Northland Refrigeration, a business belonging to his late father-in-law. Besides the huge responsibilities of running a business, Ejnar found time to be a member of the Danish Canadian Club, and the Sons of Norway. He was quite proud of his heritage and loved being involved with his fellow Scandinavians. Ejnar was well known for his card playing, and he could figure out even the most difficult of Danish crosswords. He will be missed by many and remembered by all. He is the loving father of five children, Margaret Madsen (Dean Murdoch) of Stavely, Jens (Jo-Ann), Arne, Sven, Ben, all of Calgary; his four grandchildren, Jackson of Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Stephen of Stavely, Amanda and Kyle, both of Calgary. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Lis, Elly, Oda, Karl, and Svend, all of Denmark; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce in 1996 and brother Arne also in 1996. MAGEE-ROBERTSON - Marjorie Geraldine Magee-Robertson (nee Wallace), beloved wife of Mr. Harvey Robertson of Calgary, passed away at home on December 6, 1997 at the age of 68 years. Marjorie was born on June 29, 1929 in Dodsland, Saskatchewan. Her education began in Stranraer, Saskatchewan where she attended from 1935 to 1941, then moving to Rosetown, Saskatchewan and attended school at St. Joseph's Convent from 1942 to 1944. Marjorie moved to Calgary in 1945 and began attending St. Mary's Girls High School which she graduated from in 1947. In the early 1960's she started working for Air Canada until she retired. Besides her loving husband, Marjorie is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Linda Magee of Fort McMurray; as well as her husband Harvey's family, Lori and Gary Maetche of Calgary, Diane and Greg Gorzitza of Claresholm, Jim and Carol Robertson of Lethbridge, Barry and Grace Robertson of Spruce Grove, and Shelly and Garth Beck of Yellowknife; as well as eleven grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Keirn and Myrtle Wallace, Maxine Campbell, Marlene and Ted Curtis, and Stephen and Marlene Wallace.
