HALFORD - Kathleeen Florence Halford (nee Gough), beloved wife of George Halford, passed away at home on June 15, 1997, at the age of 73 years. Born August 9, 1923 in Okotoks, Alberta, Kathleen had resided in the Midnapore area all of her life. Besides her loving husband of fifty-three years, Kathleen is also survived by seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Bob and Heather of Lacombe, John and Linda, Bill and Julie of Calgary, Frederick and Brenda, Gerald and Bonnie of Red Deer, Brian and Eleanor of Beiseker, Ron of Calgary; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathleen of Calgary, Phyllis and David of Sparwood, Jayme and Jerry of Fort Smith; as well as thirty-one grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Sister Margaret Gough F.C.J. of Lethbridge, Bernice and her husband Stuart Williamson of Calgary, Muriel and her husband Al Devitt of Richmond, B.C., Eileen Gough of Calgary; three brothers, Harold Gough of Sherwood Park, Frank and his wife Jean Gough of Chestermere Lake, Walter Gough; and sister-in-law Shirley Gough of Calgary. Gone to join her parents, Vivian and Meta Gough, and brother Patrick Gough in eternal rest. OAKES - (nee Badley) Minnie Jean (Dianne) passed away quietly on Saturday, December13, 1997 at the age of 80 years. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore, son Terrance and a brother Kenneth. OATTS - Evelyn Isabella, aged 91 years, passed away at Central Park Lodge, Calgary, Alberta, formerly of the Carmangay and Champion area, June 18, 1997, beloved mother and mother-in-law of Neal David and Hedy Oatts; dear grandmother of David Dean Oatts, all of Calgary. She is also survived by a sister Mrs. Mable McNabb, Lethbridge, Alberta. Mrs. Oatts was predeceased by her husband Neal Francis Oatts in 1965. Private Services were held. OBEE - Percy Neville Obee, beloved husband of Esther Obee of Calgary, passed away at the Fanning Centre on June 13, 1997 at the age of 83 years. Percy was an instructor of power engineering at S.A.I.T. for a number of years. He also worked previously in the Turner Valley oil fields. Percy will be remembered for his quick wit, humor and gentleness. Besides his loving wife of fifty-three years, Percy will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Stu and Barb of Calgary; and his two cherished grandsons, Sean and Scott. Percy will also be remembered by his brothers, Brian and his wife Lil of Calgary, Clem of London, Ontario, Morley of Cranbrook; and many other relatives and friends. MCINTYRE - Donald Alfred, born March 22, 1924, passed away June 5, 1997, beloved husband of Mrs. Jean McIntyre, Calgary. He is also survived by a son Norman (Lana); two daughters, Gloria (Doug), Shirley (Ken), all of Calgary; six grandchildren, Scott, Jason, Rob, Spencer, Sandra and Chad; one great-grandchild Jordyn; two brothers, Jack (Kay) and Bill (Florence); four sisters, Olive, Evelyn, Bernice and Agnes (Sid). He was predeceased by his parents, Irwin and Agnes McIntyre, three brothers, Mac, Clifford and Gordon, and a sister Eva. Mr. McIntyre was employed with Imperial Oil Ltd. for thirty years and was a proud member of the crew on the Leduc Number 1 Discovery Well in 1947. During his retirement he enjoyed Woodworking and Duck Carving and gave many beautiful pieces of his work to his family. McIVOR - Mrs. Gwendolyn McIvor (nee Ferguson), dearly loved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on October 26, 1997 at the age of 87 years. Born on December 22, 1909, the second youngest of a pioneering family, Gwen grew up on a farm near Crossfield, Alberta. She became a teacher and taught for many years in rural southern Alberta. After the death of her parents, she moved to Montreal where she trained and worked as a nurse. She married Tom McIvor, a horseman and trainer from Carstairs, Alberta and returned to Calgary to have and raise her family. She continued to work, primarily in nursing, until her retirement at age sixty-six. A women of independent spirit, integrity, warmth and good humour, Gwen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She accepted the aftereffects of a severe stroke which she suffered on March 2, 1996 with the same grace and strength which characterized her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Gwen is survived by her loving children, daughter and son-in-law, Anna Kae and Dave Todd of Calgary; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Pat McIvor of Kelowna, B.C.; her beloved granddaughter Kristen McIvor of Vancouver, B.C.; six sisters-in-law, Claire Ferguson, Peggy Ferguson, Helen Reimer, Anne McIvor, Kay McIvor and Clare Austin; and many dear nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Gwen was predeceased by her dear husband Tom in 1981 and by her parents, Frances and Tunis Ferguson, her brothers, Mac, Elmer, Charlie and Jack, and her sisters, Georgina, Emma, Mabel and Anne. HALE - Michelle Amy. (October 19, 1989 to July 9, 1997). Suddenly, but peacefully, Michelle Amy Hale passed away in the loving arms of her parents, Tammie and David, and under the watchful eye of her companion Webster, in her home on July 9, 1997. HALFORD - John Francis Halford, beloved husband of Linda Halford (nee Robertshaw) of Calgary, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, October 23, 1997 at the age of 50 years. John was born on Sunday, May 18, 1947 in Calgary and raised in Midnapore. He attended elementary and junior high schools in the "old Midnapore school house", and high school at St. Mary's Boys School and Bishop Grandin. Following his graduation, John worked at different occupations until he decided to follow in his father's and brother Bob's footsteps to take up plumbing and steamfitting. John worked on many of the new highrises downtown in Calgary and on the new buildings at the University of Calgary. He then went to work for the City of Calgary as a Maintenance Plumber/Pipefitter for seventeen years. John was an avid sportsman, especially when it came to hockey - goal-tending, coaching or just spectating plus hunting and fishing. Fishing became his favorite, and John, as well as his sons, Corey and Kevin, were always together "goin' fishin". John actively volunteered with the Acadia community, where he coached flag football, baseball, and his love, hockey. When not volunteering, both John and Linda were their sons No. 1 fans in all activities that they were involved in. John who will be sadly missed, was a friend to all. Besides his loving wife, John is survived by his sons, Corey and Kevin, all of Calgary. John is also survived by his father George Halford of Calgary; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Bob and Heather Halford of Lacombe, AB, Bill and Julie Halford of Calgary, Fred and Brenda Halford, Jerry and Bonnie Halford, all of Red Deer, AB, Brian and Eleanor Halford of Beiseker, AB, and Ron Halford of Calgary; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Dave Sheets of Sparwood, B.C., Jayme and Gerry Paulette of Fort Smith, NWT, and Kathy Davey of Calgary; his mother-in-law Flo Robertshaw; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Liz Robertshaw, all of Calgary. He was predeceased by his mother Kathleen Halford in June 1997.
