BUZSIK - Frank Buzsik Sr., beloved husband of Mrs. Anna Buzsik, of forty-two years, of Calgary, passed away on June 1, 1997 at the age of 60 years. He is the loving father of Frank (Pat) Buzsik Jr. of Calgary, Ann Buzsik (Bill Peters) of Kelowna, Bill (Heather) Buzsik of Calgary, Cheyenne (Marcie) Buzsik of Calgary; eight grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Anthony, Christopher, Jason, Jessica, William and Alexander. He is also survived by his sister Katy Fabian in Hungary; his two nieces, Katy and Eva in Hungary; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Margaret Buzsik and his brother-in-law Tibor Fabian. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, June 5, 1997 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. BARR - Christopher (Chris) Stephen Barr, beloved 18 year old son of Stephen and Marilyn Barr of Calgary, passed away in a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday, October 22, 1997. Chris was born April 23, 1979 in Glasgow, Scotland and came to Canada in 1980. He attended Cardinal Newman Junior High, Bishop Grandin High School and was a student in Business Administration at SAIT at the time of his death. Chris loved sports and excelled at Track and Field. Chris loved life, he had many friends, a wonderful sense of humor and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Besides his loving parents, Chris is survived by his sister Leslie Anne. He is also survived by his grandparents, Lavinia Barr of Scotland and James Wilson of Scotland; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Robert Barr and grandmother Mary Wilson. BARTON - Margaret Ann Barton (Lepschy) passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Wednesday, June 4, 1997 following a brief illness. Margaret is survived by her three sons, Herbert (Kaye) Himmelspach of Sicamous, B.C., Albert "Jim" (Carolyn) Barton of Calgary, and Fred (Norma) of Calgary. She is also survived by ten dear grandchildren and eleven special great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her first husband Frank Himmelspach in 1935, two daughters, Helen in 1952 and Mary McWatters in 1988, her brother Ludwig Lepschy in 1981 and her husband Albert Lee (Duff) Barton in 1989. Margaret spent many years at the Calgary General Hospital as a Nursing Aid. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Pierson's Funeral Home, 4121 - 17 Avenue S.E., today, Friday, June 6, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family extends their sincere thanks to Dr. M. Semkuley, the nursing staff and other caregivers at the Peter Lougheed Hospital Unit No. 44 for the love and care given to mom during her stay. FINLAYSON - Martha Brown Finlayson (nee Crosbie) passed away at the Agape Manor Hospice on November 4, 1997. Mom leaves behind a great empty void in the lives of her children, son John Finlayson and his wife Joanne; and daughter Janis Love and her husband Jim. Nana was a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren, Kelsey, Krista, Jeff and Travis. Martha is also survived by her sister Marion Alexander and her husband Bill. Martha was predeceased by her husband John on December 25, 1994. Mom was just starting to adjust to a new life without her loving husband when she was diagnosed with cancer. She faced this with great courage, a positive attitude, and unbelievable sense of independence and above all else, with dignity. Mom believed coming to this country as a young war bride made her a strong, independent person. She certainly was that. We will miss you mom! Rest easy. At Martha's request, there will be no Service, she will be laid to rest beside her husband John at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Agape Manor Hospice, 1302 - 8 Avenue N.W. FISCHER - Clara Fischer passed away suddenly but peacefully on October 6, 1997. Clara joined the family of Margaret and Art Davis in 1944 and became the confidante of all of the family - including children, Diane, Gail, Brian and Dorothy; and grandchildren, Dermott, Meghann, Lewis, Arthur, Frank, Lauren, and Gillian - for all of those fifty-three years. She was a friend, an anchor and a beloved companion to us all. We will miss her so much. She is survived by one brother Roy (Irene) of Richmound, SK; three sisters-in-law, Ida Fischer, Carrie Fischer, Mary Fischer, all of Medicine Hat; eleven nephews, ten nieces, numerous great-nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, August and Magdalina, one sister Magdalina Tschritter, four brothers, August, Jack, Philip and Bill, one brother-in-law Dave Tschritter, one sister-in-law Martha Fischer. Clara was born on June 30, 1922 in Irvine, Alberta and attended school at Ehman and Hilda School. A Celebration of Clara's life will take place at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 - 16 Avenue N.W., Calgary at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 1997. Interment, Queen's Park Cemetery. LONGLEY - Frank Gilbert, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family at the Rockyview Hospital on September 2, 1997. He was predeceased by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Barbara in 1992, as well as his daughter Arlene Frances (1972), son Frank Gilbert Jr. (1996), and grandson Leonard (1994). Frank was born in Winnipeg, MB on January 12, 1910. He married Barbara on March 1, 1930. Frank worked for the Manitoba Telephone System for thirty-four years, spending 1950 to 1958 in Virden, MB. He also served with the RCMP during World War II. Upon retirement in 1960, he moved to Victoria, BC where he pursued his love of fly tying and fishing. He was a member of the Golden Rods Club. In 1986 Frank moved to Burnaby with his wife and in 1993 after her passing, he settled in Calgary. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son Dennis; his grandchildren, Merna (Derek), Barb (Peter), Suzanne, Ken (Laurie), Caroline (Nick), Kevin (Jackie), Angella, Debbie (Al), Michelle (Dennis), Richard; his great-grandchildren, Andrea, Lisa, Scott, Jill, Kevin, Brittney, Christopher, Stephanie, Kendra, Breanne, Taryn; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside Service will take place at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg, MB on September 9, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Heart and Stroke Fund (9/7/1997).
LOOSE - Mrs. Anna Loose, beloved wife of the late Peter Loose, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 1997 at the Bow View Manor at the age of 100 years. As a loving mother, she will be always be cherished and remembered by her children, Molly (Dave) Beisel of Swift Current, Sask., Esther (Dave) Gilson of Calgary, Alma Merkel of High River, Alta., Melvin (Mary) Loose of Empress, Alta., Robert (Lucille) Loose of Vancouver, B.C.; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, who loved her dearly. She was a kind and gentle woman and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Bow View Manor.
