- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -BAUER - Anna Bauer, beloved wife of the late George Bauer, passed away suddenly but peacefully in her sleep on June 3, 1997 at the age of 91 years. Anna was born April 12, 1906 at Claresholm, Alberta. Anna and George were married in Claresholm on December 19, 1928 where they resided on a farm in the area until George's death in 1988. Anna's family was of such importance to her and she especially took great joy in being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anna was also a faithful member of the Lutheran Church throughout her life. Anna remained on the farm for three years, then moved to the Porcupine Hills Lodge, Claresholm in 1991 where she remained until her passing. Anna is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin (Hilda) of Bow Island, Don (Betty) of Claresholm; one daughter Marjorie (Jack) Derochie of Claresholm; nine grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Anna was also predeceased by a daughter Violet, and three brothers and three sisters. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME, Claresholm, this evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, Claresholm, Friday, June 6, 1997 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Barrett Scheske officiating. BAUMANN - Gertrude Helene passed away at Bow Crest Nursing Home quietly on December 25, 1997 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband Willi O. Baumann in June of this year. Mrs. Baumann was born in 1906 in West Prussia, Germany. In 1951 she and her husband immigrated to Canada. She will be sadly missed by her son Egon, his wife Lieselotte of Nelson, B.C.; her grandson Terry Baumann, his wife Linda and their children Katie and Christopher, also of Nelson; and her granddaughter Ramona Slattery, and husband Kres of Calgary; and many relatives and friends in Germany and Canada. CHARTIER - In loving memory of Jean-Guy who passed quietly at home after a brief illness on December 7, 1997 in his 63rd year. He will be forever missed by his wife and companion of thirty-three years, Arline (Midge); daughter Jacqueline; son Raymond, both of Calgary. He also leaves behind a brother Len of Beloeil, Que. Jean-Guy served for twenty years in the RCAF where he made numerous deep and lasting friendships across Canada. Jean-Guy was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Number 1 Branch. FINDLAY - Naomi Louise Findlay (formerly Herbig and Davis), beloved wife of Tom Findlay, High River, died after a valiant struggle with cancer at the age of 87 years on December 9, 1997. Besides her husband, Naomi is survived by her daughters, Louise (Nels) Jacobsen, Olds, Alta., Muriel (Don) Hoover, Edmonton and Bobbi Scarlett, Calgary; her grandchildren, Lisa (Dan) Parsons, Scott and Niki Hoover, Jodi Scarlett and Ryan Jacobsen; and her great-grandchild Nikko Parsons. Naomi was a nurse for sixty-five years at Olds and High River Hospitals and was dedicated to her causes such as the Ladies' Auxiliary to the High River Hospital, Cansurmount and Unifarm. Funeral Services will beheld at the High River United Church on Saturday, December 13, at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. Susan Lukey officiating. Interment will follow at Highwood Cemetery. FISCHER - Edith Fischer passed away peacefully at Central Park Lodge in her 95th year. Beloved mother of daughter Marjorie (Ken) Campbell; and a son James. She also will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Barbara (Cavin), Shelley (Rickey), Howard (Judy), Margaret (Glen) and David. Her four great-grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Nicholas, Jonathan; and her sister Bea of South Burnaby, British Columbia. A Family Service will be held. May she rest in peace. LOGUE - Eleanor Campbell, late of Qualicum Beach, BC, passed away November 23, 1997 at the age of 54 years. Survived and dearly missed by her loving husband Jim, son Scott, many dear family and friends. MOEN - Melvin Grant (Mel), beloved husband of Mrs. Genevieve Moen, passed away suddenly in Calgary on June 27, 1997 at the age of 61 years. Formerly of Elrose, Saskatchewan, moving to Calgary with his family in 1962. Besides his loving wife, Mel is survived by his parents, Grant and Marjorie Moen of Elrose, Saskatchewan; his sons, Shaun (Harlene), Jeff (Holly) and Tracy (Kathy); his seven grandchildren, Sirena, Jessie, Jeff, Jamie, Samantha, Amanda and Leah; his two great-grandchildren, Tyrell and Krisha, all from Calgary; his brother Manford (Elaine) of Elrose, Saskatchewan, and sister Sheila (Gordon) of Saskatoon. He will also be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, July 2, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
