MILLAR - Passed away in Lethbridge on Wednesday, September 10, 1997, Mr. William "Bill" Wilson Millar, at the age of 65 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Lilian Doris Millar, nee Foley, of Lethbridge. Bill was formerly of Edmonton and Calgary. Besides his loving wife, Lilian, Bill is survived by two daughters, Betty-Jo (Scott) Rand and Heather Howe, both of Calgary; a son Ian Millar of Edmonton; a granddaughter Spencer; three stepdaughters, five stepsons; two sisters, Maureen (Harry) Chakaluck of Calgary, and Betty Forgues of Edmonton; and a brother Gordon (Margaret) Millar of Perth, Australia. PEARCE - Sidney Henry passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on November 13, 1997 at the age of 78 years. Sid was the beloved husband of Meryl; dear father of Gary, Carol, Brian and his wife Edith, and David and his wife Debbie. He will be sadly missed by his granddaughter Allison Sydney. Sid served during World War II with the R.C.A.F. and was a longtime employee of Air Canada, retiring in 1974. He will be missed by all who knew him. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Westbourne Baptist Church, 823 - 64 Avenue N.W., Calgary, on Tuesday, November 18, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Sid's name may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, No. 302, 609 - 14 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2N 2A1. PEARSON - Ellen Agnes (Nellie), 1904 - 1997, died peacefully in Bashaw, Alberta on October 18, 1997 at the age of 93. She was born to Janet and Robert Cammidge on September 14, 1904 in Wiarton, Ontario and was the last survivor of that family of seven children. She obtained her grade nine education at Jarvis Bay School. She married John Pearson on February 20, 1924. With that union came the birth of four sons, Ronald, Glenn, Stanley and Jack. She lived in around Bashaw all of her life, with a keen sense of community and devotion to her church, St. Peter's Anglican. She was an active member of the Eastern Star and was Matron of that organization, as well as President of the Anglican Church Women's Organization. Left to celebrate her life and remember her for being such a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother are her three sons, Glenn (Kathy) of Calgary, Stan (Faye) of Stettler, Jack (Laureen) of Edmonton; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John Holt Pearson in 1977 and her first son Ronald in 1943. Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Bashaw, Alberta on Tuesday, October 28, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Art Turnbull officiating. BURRILL - Barbara Burrill (nee Norman) of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on July 10, 1997 at the age of 83 years. Barb and her husband Clayton lived in many towns throughout Saskatchewan. They moved to Didsbury in 1962 where they owned and operated the C&B Grill and Pool Hall until they retired into Calgary. She was a gentle, easy going person who loved her family and friends. Barb is the loving mother of a daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Don Wakelam of Okotoks; three sons and daughters-in-law, Elwood and Kathy Burrill of Peachland, British Columbia, Dale and Amy Burrill of Calgary, Barry and Alice Burrill of Buchanan, Saskatchewan. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Fanny and Elmer Surring of Weyburn, Saskatchewan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Isabel Norman of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Gerry and Marilyn Norman of Victoria, British Columbia. Barb is predeceased by her husband Clayton, a grandson Bryan Townend, and three brothers, Allan, Charlie and Peter. BURTIS - Mr. Ron Burtis, beloved husband of Mrs. Karen Burtis of Calgary, passed away suddenly at home on September 11, 1997 at the age of 42 years. Ron owned and operated Burtis Flooring in Calgary. Ron will be sadly missed by his wife Karen; and his children, Troy and Tammy, all of Calgary. He is also survived by three brothers, Ted, Barry and Darcy; and four sisters, Beverly, Anna, Melody and Theresa. BUSH - Reginald (Reg), aged 56 years, of Claresholm, Alberta, passed away suddenly at his residence on November 13, 1997, beloved husband of Barbara; and dear father and father-in-law of Dellrae and Bill Sharpe of Medicine Hat, AB, and Dann and Nicole Bush of Edson, AB. He is also survived by a grandson Tyler; two step-grandchildren, Michelle and Bryan; a brother Don and his wife Leah of Claresholm; two nieces, Lynn (Rob) Cowie of Nanton, Shelley (Norm) Foxcroft of Claresholm, AB; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Campbell and Margaret Macintosh of Claresholm, AB. Reg was predeceased by his parents, the late Les and Alice Bush. Born and educated at Claresholm, he was involved in the Autobody Business for twenty-four years, then farmed and ranched until his passing. LEE - Mrs. Eileen Doris Lee was born March 13, 1924 in Regina, Saskatchewan to Albert and Margaret Lawton. She led a simple and happy life until she passed away while in repose December 9, 1997 at the Central Park Lodge. Her life was filled with caring for her family and was noted as a loving mother with a zest for life. She worked at the Calgary General Hospital in housekeeping for twenty years until retiring in 1991. It was only after her retirement that she was diagnosed to have Alzheimer's disease. This did not deter her from enjoying friends and family. She was kind, jovial and caring. A person whose testament to faith and courage that will be missed, but not forgotten. Eileen is survived by her only son George Albert Lee of Calgary. CAYLEY - Alfred, died suddenly June 1, 1997. Alf is survived by his loving wife Goldie (Graham); his daughter Shirley (Cayley) MacIver; and his grandson Michael James Alfred MacIver of Winnipeg. He will also be missed by Joyce (Graham) James and her husband Gordon; close friends, Don and Jean Carlson in Calgary; and friend J. Colin MacIver in Winnipeg. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Alf is predeceased by his parents, Ethel (Pinchbeck) and W.H. (Bert) Cayley, and his older brother H.W. (Bert) Cayley. Young Alf was active in sports such as hockey, swimming, and horseback riding. He took his High School at Western and Commercial High Schools. He worked for twenty-seven years at Calgary Motor Products, and fourteen years at A.L.C.B. Alf served in the Canadian Air Force, 1941 to 1945. A Memorial Service will be held at "Jacques Chapel", 240 - 17 Avenue S.W., on Saturday, June 7, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. with his daughter Shirley (Cayley) MacIver officiating.
