Besides his loving "Hun", Frank is survived by his brothers and sisters, Helen Kaspick and husband Vern of Calgary, Carl and wife Lillian Yuskow of Edmonton, Bill and wife Florence Yuskow of Calgary, Tony and wife Harriett Yuskow of Winnipeg, Olga Masur and husband Gus of Melville, Saskatchewan, Nellie Andrews and husband Bill of Birds Hill, Manitoba; and sister-in-law Ann Yuskow of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his brother Peter. If desired, donations may be made in Frank's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6. HAW - Eleanor Mae (Williams). With a deep sense of loss, but with great gratitude for her life, the family announces the passing of their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Eleanor is survived by her daughter Leonor Hart of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Alan (Jackie) Hart, Toronto, Nancy MacNabb, Listowel, Jocelyn Hart, London, ON, Bruce (Fran) MacNabb, Toronto, Timothy (Kim) Hart, Calgary, Paul (France) Hart, Whitby, ON, and Elizabeth MacNabb, Toronto. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Catherine Eleanor Hart, Toronto, Andrew Hart, Whitby, and Danielle Hart, Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-eight years, Leonard, her daughter Sharon MacNabb and her husband Ian. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Elma and Frankie. Eleanor was born in 1905 in Melbourne, ON, moving to her beloved Alberta in 1909. Aside from a brief period in Chile, she lived most of her life in Calgary. She was a creative woman, and a grand lady. Her vital contributions to the lives of her family, and her warmth, strength and courage will ever be remembered. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held from the Chapel of CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton, ON, on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Visitation one hour prior to Service time. HAWKES - Patricia Margherite Hawkes (Dixon) (Keir), formerly of Calgary, passed away peacefully at Victoria's Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, British Columbia on Friday, November 14, 1997 at the age of 80 years, after a short illness. She is survived by her husband of the last fifteen years, Mr. Arthur Hawkes of Victoria and Belmont, California; as well as her son Gordon Franklin Dixon, Q.C., his wife Olive Miriam Dixon, and three grandchildren, Dena Marie Dixon, Kathleen Patricia Dixon (Tiro Clarke) and Kenneth Gordon Dixon; and her son Dr. John Anthony Dixon, his wife Maria Madeleine Linda Dixon, and six grandchildren, William Kenneth Roger Dixon, David Gordon Richard Dixon, Vanessa Rose Margherite Dixon, Peter Anthony Newberry Dixon and Stephen John Newberry Dixon, all of Calgary, and a grandson Michael Henry Dixon of Oxford, England; her brother Ralph Keir and sister-in-law Norah Keir, their children, David, Joan and Kevin Keir; and her sister-in-law Billie Keir and her children, Laurie, Pattie and Gordon. She was predeceased by her husband of forty years Kenneth Sloan Dixon in January of 1982, by her son Kenneth Michael Dixon in November of 1968, and her brother Kenneth Keir in 1995. Patricia Margherite Keir was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on January 12, 1917 in a house at Bruntsfield Gardens belonging to the parents of her father, David Burns Keir. The Keir family came from the Tillicoultry area of Scotland. Her mother was born Laura Lowry, whose family had come from Brandon, Manitoba. Her parents had met and married in Calgary. Patricia attended school in Calgary and finished high school at Central High in Calgary, and then moved to Victoria with her parents and two brothers. There she attended Normal School, and became a teacher on Vancouver Island for several years until she married Kenneth Sloan Dixon in 1941. Her husband enlisted in the Navy and the couple moved to Nova Scotia for the duration of World War II. After the war, they moved to Calgary. Her husband, Kenneth Sloan Dixon Q.C., worked as a lawyer in Calgary and was one of the founding members of the Macleod Dixon law firm. Patricia was an optimist all her life and was gifted with a wonderful sense of humour. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her friends and family. HAYES - Trude Hayes of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Thursday, November 6, 1997. She was born Gertrude Ward in London, Ontario on June 4, 1910 and was the widow of Alex M. Hayes. Trude lived in London and Sarnia for many years, moving to Calgary in 1956. She travelled extensively and was an ardent golfer at the Calgary Golf & Country Club. Trude will be greatly missed by her many friends of all ages. CRONIN - Albin (Al) James Cronin, beloved husband of Vi Cronin of Calgary, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 27, 1997 at the age of 50 years. Al was born in Walkerton, Ontario on August 4, 1947. He has worked most of his life in the construction industry and for the past few years has owned and operated Cronin Construction Ltd. Besides his loving wife, Al is survived by his four daughters, Tracey of Calgary, Kelly, April and Angie, all of Kitchener, ON. He is also survived by his parents, Jim and Florence Cronin of Walkerton, ON; his four sisters, Mary Anne and her husband Mark Scheurman of Chepstow, ON, Madeline and her husband Tom Gibbons, Joan and her husband Phil Metz, all of Kitchener, ON, Theresa and her husband George Redpath of Waterloo, ON. He will also be lovingly remembered by several aunts, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. CROOKS - Alvina Irene. At her daughter's home in Pickering on Tuesday, June 10, 1997, in her 76th year. Beloved wife of the late Robert Mervyn Crooks. Loving mother of Jackie Bullivant and her husband Bryan (of Calgary), Carolyn Rees and her husband Bryan, Bob Crooks and his wife Faye, Wendy Hinves and her husband Al (Butch), Terry Crooks and his wife Daphne, and Richard Crooks and his wife Darlene. Dear grandmother of Rhonda, Chris, Sarah, Gareth, Alyscia, Abbey, Andrea, Derek, Jeremy, Desiree, Hailey and Lyndsay. Sadly missed by her sister Pauline Lowther (of Calgary). LUDWIG - Margaret Lawson Ludwig, age 78, passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed on November 21, 1997. Margaret was born in Scotland in 1919 and moved to Calgary in 1923. She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1992. She is survived by daughter Carol; grandson Kerry (Glenda), granddaughter Christine (Rob), and grandson Clay; also four great-grandchildren and two nieces. Private Family Service.
