Roy is survived by his loving wife, Grace; his son Rick (Sandy); his daughter Carol (Al); and his two grandchildren, Danny and Mandy Vockeroth, all of Drumheller. Also surviving are Roy's sister Agnes (Don) Coderre; his brothers, Teddy (Lydia), Bert (Elsie) and Charlie (Teresa), all of Medicine Hat. VYSOHLID - Mrs. Margaret Vysohlid (nee Kerr) of Calgary, passed away peacefully into God's loving hands at the Glenmore Auxiliary Hospital on Sunday, December 7, 1997, after a long illness, at the age of 68 years. She grew up in and attended high school in Blairmore. After high school, she began working as a legal secretary and in 1952, moved to Calgary with her husband and children where she continued her career as a paralegal, which lasted over thirty-five years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend and will be missed by all that knew her. She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband Walter. Margaret will be deeply missed by her two sons, Robert and Thomas; her three grandchildren, Michelle, Carman and Brent. She also leaves to remember her, her sisters, Betty Lund of Calgary and Isa Randahl of Coronation; and family members, Milan and Dorothy Vysohlid, Annie Hughs, Geraldine, and Lou Harpur; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. ROSS - Annie M. Ross, (nee Eslinger) of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Glenmore Auxiliary Hospital on December 9, 1997, at the age of 85 years. Annie was born on March 15, 1912. Annie and her husband lived in Edmonton from 1946 to 1972, then moved to Calgary. She enjoyed life to the fullest, always putting her family first. Annie filled her spare time with many hobbies. Out of all of her hobbies, pottery was her favorite. Annie will be lovingly missed by her two daughters and two sons-in-law, Judith and Walter Soboren of Calgary, Constance and James Haffey of Victoria, British Columbia; seven grandchildren, Cynthia, Karen, Michael, Caroline, Paul, Robert and David; one great-grandson Austin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Annie was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1980. SHARPE - Mr. Edward Alexander Sharpe passed away following a courageous battle with heart disease. He is survived by his loving son Barry; as well as his two sisters, Marie O'Bertous and Betty Pope; his brothers, Harold and Tom. He was predeceased by his brother John. Ed was born in Calgary and served overseas from 1939 to 1945 during World War II, following the war he continued his career in the R.C.A.F. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and the Star. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. His family was very important to him and he will be lovingly remembered by them. Funeral Services will be held at the CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W. (within Queen's Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, December 17, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Cook officiating. VAN IDERSTINE - (nee Powers) Muriel Wallace Van Iderstine, of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on June 19, 1997, at the age of 78 years. Muriel is survived by her loving, dedicated husband Vernon, of fifty-five years; her son Brian and daughter-in-law Diane; her daughter Dianna Rosenke and partner Ron Kondrat; grandchildren, Drew, Tobi, Darcy, Chris, Kelli; and great-grandchildren. As a young woman Muriel was prominent in classical musical circles, a recipient of numerous honours throughout Alberta. Muriel, an avid wildlife enthusiast, will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by family and friends. MACFARLAND - G.R. (Pat). On September 13, 1997, Mr. Pat Macfarland of Wetaskiwin passed away at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his loving wife Anna; daughter Pat (Hugh) Barmby of Calgary; son Ross (Beverley) Macfarland of Edmonton; five grandchildren, Scott, Terry (Rod) Brooks, Dawn (Brent) Bullen, Kelly (David) Udy, Laurie Barmby; four great-grandchildren; brother John (Min) Macfarland of Bassano; sisters, Connie MacAdam of Richmond, B.C., Tannis (Bill) Betts of Edmonton. RIVARD - Paul passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on December 27, 1997, at the age of 85 years. Paul was born on October 1, 1912 in Montreal, Quebec. His loving memory, curious mind, gentle spirit and unique sense of humour will be cherished by his wife of fifty-five years, Ethel (nee Brady); one sister Louise; and one brother Frederick; one daughter Diane; and two sons, Kenneth and Robert; two daughters-in-law, Micheline and Elizabeth; one son-in-law Edward; and six grandchildren, Erika, Derek, Annie, Melissa, Delaney and Keelin. Visitation will be held at FIRST MEMORIAL, 1635 - 17 Avenue S.W., on Monday, December 29, 1997from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, December 31, 1997 from12:30 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel, with Father Len Hagel of St. Michael's Catholic Church officiating.
