A long time resident of Calgary, she is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Bob (Carol) of Edmonton; daughter Anne (Rob) of Nanaimo, B.C. and daughter Kathy of Ponoka; grandsons, Ken (Andi) of Vancouver and Pat (Barb) of Edmonton. She also leaves several relatives in White Rock, B.C. including her sisters, Margie Turner and Molly Price. Kay was predeceased by her parents, William and Blanche Mulholland and her brothers, Cecil and Wally. In celebration of her life, a Memorial Service will take place on Friday, November 14, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.) with Rev. Bob Purdy of St. Stephen's Anglican Church officiating. Graveside Services will follow at Union Cemetery (2800 Spillers Road S.E.). LANCASTER - Lilian Lancaster, beloved wife of Alec, passed away at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Care Centre on Sunday, June 15, 1997 at the age of 80 years. She is also survived by a daughter Alice Johnston; three grandchildren, Steven, Jason, and Amber Johnston; three great-grandchildren; a brother Percy (Queenie) Simpson; and numerous nieces and nephews. MURRAY - Dorothy Amelia (nee Strathern) passed away in Oliver, BC on December 9, 1997. Born in Calgary on April 25, 1925, Dot was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved and cherished her family. She will be sadly missed by all. Dot is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Edward "Ted" Murray; her two sons, Bradford (Bev) of Kelowna and Ross (Diane) of Calgary; and her five grandchildren, Natalie, Austin, Clark, Graham, and Garrett. She also leaves her sister Anne (Art) Sullivan of Golden, CO; and her brothers, Joe (Betty) Strathern of Calgary and George (Emily) Strathern of Winnipeg. A private Inurnment will be held at Queen's Park Cemetery, Calgary. COLLINS - Mrs. C.F. Sonny Collins of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Anne Collins, passed away in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, October 28, 1997 at the age of 77 years. He is survived by one daughter Joanne (Bob) Crews of Calgary; one son Rob (Melanie) Collins of Calgary; five grandchildren, Justin (Angela), Jennifer, Jordan, Mackenzie, Nicholas; and one sister Nellie Miller of Barriere, B.C. He was predeceased by his wife Anne, and one brother Roy Collins. Sonny was born and raised in Medicine Hat. He joined the army in 1939 and served in England with the Calgary Highlanders. After his return, Sonny was employed by the C.P.R. Railway, retiring after twenty-six years of service. His retirement was to be short-lived as he soon found himself employed with the Royal Canadian Legion as Head Steward, a position he held for the next five years. His reputation for hard work soon spread through the community and when the Travelodge was built it was not long before General Manager Fred Amman asked Sonny to work for them, which he did for nine and a half years. During this time Sonny spent evenings teaching a Mixology/Hospitality Class at the Medicine Hat College. After he retired, Sonny managed the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club and was instrumental in the erection of their new clubhouse. Sonny's friendly, outgoing nature made him the centre of attention while working as a Director of the Alberta Golf Association. Board members respected his well-formed opinions and competitive spirit. He was always a favorite playing partner during A.G.A. gatherings and all Alberta golfers have benefited from his commitment and dedication to the sport in this province. Even with all his work and late hours Sonny was a devoted husband and father. He has made a positive impression on all who knew him. Sonny Collins will be remembered with gratitude for who he was and all he did. COUTTS - Mr. George Lester (Les) Coutts, of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on June 22, 1997, after a brief illness, at the age of 55 years. Les was involved in the Auto industry in Calgary since 1980, with Heninger Toyota, Courtesy Chrysler, Carstairs Ford, Crowfoot Ford, Calgary Motor Products, and most recently Maclin Ford until his passing. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 264. George will be lovingly remembered by his longtime companion Sylvia Anderson; his children, Jennifer and Jason; he will also be remembered by Sylvia's mother, Lena Walker. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, in 1951. COX - Kelman Ramsay "Kelly" Cox passed away at home on June 20, 1997 at the age of 67 years. He is survived by his loving wife Willa; three children, Donna Cox, James Cox and his wife Lucy and their two children, Lurian and David and Shelagh Cox; a brother James (Agnes) Cox, of Winnipeg; a sister Noreen Potter and her children, Karen, Bruce, and Carole-Anne and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Cox, a brother William Cox and brother-in-law, Gerald Potter. Kelly was born in Winnipeg, on July 30, 1929. He served in the RCAF from 1950 to 1957. Kelly moved with his family in 1966 from Winnipeg to Calgary, where he resided until he passed away. He will be fondly remembered for his wit, warmth, and the ease with which he related to people. BURGESS - Alfreda Doris Burgess passed away following a brief illness at Foothills Hospital on December 7, 1997 at the age of 85 years. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Sally Burgess of Oliver, BC; a daughter and son-in-law, Darleen and Ron King of Calgary; a son-in-law Dan Lucey of Calgary; eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; as well as two brothers and three sisters. Born February 23, 1912near Cardston, Alberta, Doris was one of nine children who spent her younger years in Cardston. She moved to Calgary with her family some ten years prior to the death of her husband Dick in 1964. She was also predeceased by two daughters, Joy Burgess and Carol Lucey. SHIBLEY - Eva Martha Shibley of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Father Lacombe Nursing Home on Wednesday, October 8, 1997 at the age of 83 years. Eva is survived by her nieces, Cathy (Norman) Howarth of Calgary, Eva (Wayne) Donovan of Sydney, NS, and Marilyn (Brian) Cotterell; as well as her brother-in-law Norman Gilliham of Calgary. She is predeceased by her sisters, Rose and Jenny, and her brother Tommy.
