- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -SCHMITZ - It is with deep sorrow that the family of Jerome Nicholas Schmitz of Strathmore, announce his passing on November 21, 1997 at the age of 74 years. He is survived by Lillian, his loving wife of forty-nine years. Also mourning his death are his six loving daughters, Kay (Greg) Rosell of High River, Connie (David) McBride of Edmonton, Lynn (Francis) Van Bussel of Strathmore, Debbie (Peter) Muller of Edmonton, Margie (Michael) Barrie of Fernie, B.C., and Shelli (Gerry) McCallum of High River. Jerome was a devoted grandfather to twenty-six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Julie Craik of Spirit River and Dorothy (Bob) Lewisson of Dawson Dreek, B.C.; and one brother Matt Schmitz of Fort Macleod. He was predeceased by three brothers, one sister, and one grandchild. Until his stroke a year ago, Jerome was an avid golfer and was also actively involved with Wheatland Funeral Home. SCHNEIDER - Mrs. Andrea Schneider passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 1997 at the Rockyview General Hospital at the age of 94 years. Andrea was born December 2, 1902 in Ghent, Belgium. She married Michael Schneider and raised seven children. Andrea was a special lady, loved by everyone who knew her. She is survived by two daughters, Gerry and her husband Bob Fay of Lethbridge, Alberta, Yvonne and her husband Merle Derochie of DeWinton, Alberta; and a son Jack of Albany, New York; two sisters, Yvonne Lynch and Irma Greer; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Andrea was predeceased by her husband Michael, and sons, Douglas, Barney, Michael and Andrew. MORRIS - Eileen (nee Borgens) passed away quietly at the Agape Manor Hospice on Tuesday, July 22, 1997 at the age of 72 years. Eileen was born in Calgary on April 16, 1925 and lived much of her life in Calgary as well as Kelowna, B.C. Eileen is survived by two sons, Barry of Calgary, Blaine of Vancouver; and one daughter Sandra (Daly) of Edmonton. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Karen Daly, Michael Daly and Shannon Daly; and one great-grandchild Ashley. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Bert (Buster) in 1976, and her sister Laurie (Stoppel) in 1996. Also left to mourn Eileen's passing is her longtime friend and companion Ken Noonan, and his daughter Delores Gourlie, who were also at her side during her final journey. The family also wishes to acknowledge and thank the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers of the Agape Manor Hospice for the thoughtful and loving care that they provided during Eileen's final weeks. At Eileen's request her remains will be cremated and no Services will be held (7/24/1997).
FORSTER - Margaret Olga, beloved wife of Mr. Bert Forster, passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital on October 25, 1997 at the age of 66 years. Besides her loving husband, she will be lovingly remembered by her son Nick (Tina); her sister Mary (Allan) Mac Donald of Nelson, BC; four nieces, one nephew, as well as numerous cousins. Margaret devoted her time and ability to A.R.B.I., Red Cross and "Meals on Wheels". RYBAKOWICZ - Aleksander Rybakowicz, beloved husband of Mrs. Teresa Rybakowicz of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on Tuesday, November 25, 1997, after a long struggle with cancer. Aleksander was born January 17, 1914 in Pinsk, Poland. He immigrated to Canada in 1949. Aleksander served in the Polish Army Second Corps during World War II. Besides his loving wife, Aleksander is survived by a sister Regina Sarnicki of London, England; a brother Zygmunt Rybakowicz of Poland. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Janina (Mike) Obrocki of Regina; four nieces, a nephew and their children. MOORE - Margaret Moore passed away peacefully on December 1, 1997 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital at the age of 82 years. Margaret is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Frank Moore. She was the mother of two daughters, Diane (Andy) Danielewicz and Debbie (Bob) Loblaw. Margaret was the grandmother to five grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) and Karen Danielewicz, and Corinn, Adam and Andrew Loblaw. Born Margaret Roberts in Fernie, B.C. on July 9, 1915. She married Frank Moore on October 17, 1942. She move to Calgary in May, 1943 to join Frank who was stationed in Calgary with the Canadian Armed Forces. Frank and Margaret moved into their first house in Glenbrook in 1959. They lived there together until 1997. Margaret worked at the downtown Hudson Bay Store from 1956 to 1981. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League until 1997. Margaret was a devoted Catholic. Throughout her life, her number one priority was always family. She was the most loving wife and best friend to Frank. She was a supportive mother and the greatest grandma. When she was younger, one of her favourite things to do was to hike into the hills to pick huckleberries and raspberries. Margaret loved to play cards, bridge was her favorite. "Bridge was Her Cup of Tea". Something had to be pretty important to cancel a game of bridge. Both Frank and Margaret made many friends playing cards over the years. Margaret also enjoyed travelling. Together, with Frank, they made many trips south of the border. Great Falls and Keno machines were two popular destinations of theirs. For the last fifty-eight years, wherever Margaret was, Frank was surely near. They were always together. They shared each other's interests, passions and dreams. They had the most rewarding and fulfilling life together that any two people could ask for. Margaret will be truly missed by her devoted husband, family and friends. The family would like to express their appreciation to the warm and caring nursing staff of Unit 51, and the ICU unit of the Peter Lougheed Hospital. RUSSELL - Louise Russell passed away in the comfort of her own home on October 28, 1997. Mum had fought a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
