Little of Calgary, formerly of Dartmouth, NS, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his residence on Friday, September 12, 1997 at the age of 73 years. Lorne was born in Calgary on Sunday, August 3, 1924 and raised in Grainger, AB. He was based in Halifax, NS serving in the Royal Canadian Navy for twenty-five years, then relocated to Calgary in 1969 where he has since resided. Lorne is survived by his loving family, Jim Little and his wife Alexis of Dartmouth, NS, Carol and her husband Kal Krishnan of Pittsburg, CA, Elaine Little of Edmonton, Colleen and her husband Dale Reid of Edmonton, Debby and her husband Brian Herron of Calgary, Andrew Little of Victoria, BC, and Gerald Ritchie of Parksville, BC; as well as seven grandchildren. He is also survived by Virginia Ohlhauser of Carbon, AB, Gladys and Don Reid of Sundre, AB, Fred and Marchia Little of Rocky Mountain House, AB, Bill and Lois Little of Nanton, AB, and Allan and Donna Little of Ponoka, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lorne was predeceased by his wife Ola Little and daughter Nora Ritchie. RUTLEDGE - Albert John Thomas Rutledge, beloved husband and best friend of Maire Rutledge of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Friday, November 7, 1997 at the age of 81 years. Besides his loving wife Maire, Albert John is survived by two sons, Eamonn and his wife Christine and Barry and his wife Janet, all of Calgary; four grandchildren, Christopher, Alexandra, Cara and Megan. He is also survived by his sister Isobella Brady of England. RUTZER - Mrs. Rosa B. Rutzer of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on September 16, 1997, at the age of 79 years. Rosa practiced midwifery in Switzerland for thirteen years during which time she delivered over one thousand, two hundred babies in their homes. After immigrating to Alberta with her husband and family, she was anxious to get back into her profession. She worked at the Grace Hospital for twenty-four years until her retirement in 1979. Rosa believed that the best way to have babies, was to be at home, by letting nature take its course. She was a strong supporter of the Midwife Group in Alberta. She was active in the Swiss Club Matterhorn, the Theatre Group Heimatstyl and one of the founding members of the Dance Group Alpenrosli. "The death of a person is not the time to weep, for they are gone and shall no more return. It is time for rejoicing, for the Lord, our God, has brought His child to sit by Him - forever. This is time for all to remember the pleasant times that were shared between yourself and those departed. Do not be selfish and wish them back. For they have gained what every human desires... Eternal peace. She is the loving mother of three sons and two daughters-in-law, Arnold and Marianne, Paul, Werner and Krista, as well as the beloved grandmother of Sara and Tania, Corbet, Justin and Carson, all of Calgary. Rosa is also survived by a sister Anna Bucher, and nieces and nephews in Switzerland. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold in 1989. RYAN - David Herbert, age 67, passed away June 10, 1997 following a courageous battle with cancer. God saw you getting tired, A cure was not to be, He closed His arms around you And whispered "Come with Me". You didn't deserve what you went through and so God gave you rest He only takes the best. - Your loving wife Maxine, children and grandchildren. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife, soul-mate and best friend of thirty-seven years, Maxine; two daughters, Tamara (John) Gionet, Melody (Wayne) Sullivan; one stepdaughter Patsy Ann (Bob) Holden; and eight grandchildren, Nicole, Robyn, David, Michelle Gionet, Jaymi and Ashley Sullivan, Candace and Christie Holden; his parents, Glenn and Connie Ryan of Portland, Oregon; two brothers, Wilverne (Maureen) of Bakersfield, California, Glenn P. (JoAnne) of San Diego, California; one brother-in-law Earl Ziegler (Shirley) of Carbon, Alberta; and many nieces and nephews. David served in the U.S. Navy for four years and on the police force and government work for a total of ten years before coming to Canada to marry Maxine. David was an avid weight-lifter and body builder and helped many with their training. He loved the mountains and nature walks with Maxine and family. He was very talented in art and drawing and had a great love for old cars and restoring them to Street Rods. A Private Memorial Service was held by the family. MORCK - Kathleen E. (nee Hodges) of Calgary, passed away on November 26, 1997. Kathleen is survived by her three cousins, Dorothy Riley and Joyce Spence of Calgary, and Edith Mjolsness of Sundre. She was predeceased by her husband Lars Christian in 1969 and her brothers, Cecil and William. Kathleen was well-known for her wildlife photography. She worked for many years for the Calgary City Police Department and was a faithful member of the North Ridge Presbyterian Church. As well, she was a member of the Calgary Hard of Hearing Society. A Memorial Service celebrating Kathleen's life will be held at MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Monday, December 1, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the North Ridge Presbyterian Church (25 Edgebank Circle N.W., Calgary, AB T3A 4R9). SCHEUCHNER - Shaun Allen, beloved son of Allen and Sharon Scheuchner of Calgary, passed away at Alberta Children's Hospital on September 14, 1997 at the age of 19 years. Shaun is the loving brother to Ralphine, Todd and David, all of Calgary. He is also survived by his grandparents, Blanche and Arnold Scheuchner of Morningside, AB; aunts and uncles, Bruce and Marion Snape of Duchess, AB, Norma and Rand Berg of Millicent, AB, Judy and Buzz Buijs of Hythe, AB, Hazel and Don Snyder of Morningside, AB; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Shaun was predeceased by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Snape, and Mr. Daniel Scheuchner.
