He leaves to cherish his memory his loving family, two children, Rhonda Rowsell of Dartmouth, NS, and Regan Patterson of Barrhead, AB; three grandchildren, Nikita and Stephen Rowsell and Hillary Patterson; his mother Kathleen Osberg of Barrhead; two brothers and one sister, Dorothy (Leonard) Greenwood of Sangudo, AB, Roger (Darlene) Osberg of Edmonton, and Clifford Osberg of Barrhead; two aunts, Dorothy Harrison and Evelyn (Harold) Payne of Barrhead; numerous other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his son Lance in 1977, his father William in 1996, stepmother Irma in 1994, stepfather Ole in 1985, and his sister Muriel in 1984. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 15, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. from the Barrhead United Church with Mrs. Rosemarie Benesch officiating. Interment will follow in the Roseglen Cemetery. PARKER - William Arthur (Bill), passed away at his home in Victoria, B.C., in the loving company of his family, on Sunday, September 14, 1997. Born in Springhill, Nova Scotia on July 11, 1923, he was raised in Calgary, Alberta and retired to Victoria, B.C. Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife, June; sons, Stephen, Scott (Irene) and Spencer (Betty); daughter Stephanie (Peter) Law; grandchildren, Tyler, Tessa and William; his sisters, Chickie and Joe, both of Calgary, Alberta; sister-in-law Gloria McClean (Roy) of California; many nieces and nephews and specially remembered by Lily-Belle. Bill enjoyed a memorable career both in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War and after graduating from U.B.C., joined the R.C.A.F. Bill's family sends its warmest thanks to Dr. Peter Meyer and the team of home care nurses and the Palliative Response Team, Hospice, Victoria. A Service of Remembrance will be conducted from McCALL BROS. MCKENZIE - E. Joan, wife of the late Rev. John David McKenzie, died on Sunday, July 6, 1997 at the Agape Manor Hospice. Joan was born on December 4, 1932 and was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and David Smith, by her step-son Hugh McKenzie and by her beloved Suki in 1996. She is survived by her half-brother Dean (Jean) Smith of Victoria; niece Sheila Bowman and nephew Carl Smith. Also survived by dear cousin Hazel Banks; two step-daughters, Ruth (Tom) Crocker and Marjorie (Hartley) Lundell; step-daughter-in-law Anne McKenzie; and eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and those she helped through her many years of volunteer service with Calgary Pastoral Care. Joan loved the long bike rides with Vida, choir and bellringers, the mountains, her painting, quilting and handicrafts, but most of all her twelve years as Jack's wife. Joan faced her death with calm acceptance, wisdom and extraordinary courage. Many thanks to the nurses and volunteers at the Agape Manor Hospice. In her memory, we ask that you consider donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. BAKER - Marjorie Alberta Baker of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Bethany Care Centre Calgary, on Monday, July 21, 1997, in her 92nd year. Marjorie was born on a ranch June 30, 1905 at Langdon, Alberta; the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Addeman. Her education included Mount Royal College, South Calgary High School and graduation from the Calgary Normal School in 1924. She studied for her music degree in piano with the late Helen Ketcheson Robinson, teaching music in the Blackie District for over twenty years. Marjorie and Chuck moved to Calgary in 1946. Marjorie was on the first Executive of Girls, Ladies and Seniors Curling Associations. She was an avid curler and during this time served as draw master at all levels of curling. During World War II, she was president of the Dinton War Service Club and spent many hours working with the Canadian Red Cross. She has been a member of St. Michael and All Angels' Anglican Church, Calgary since 1946. Marjorie was the beloved mother of a son Ron and his wife Toy of Calgary; a daughter Sheila and her husband Gil of Cochrane; four grandchildren, Kathleen Baker, Greg Baker and his wife Susan, and their children Jackie and David, Brad Baker and his wife Mary, and their son Dylan, Garney Baker and his wife Terry, and their children, Pierce and Cassidy. She was predeceased by her husband "Chuck" April 28, 1996, and a grandson David October 25, 1970, as well as by three sisters and two brothers. Funeral Services will be held at St. Michael and All Angels' Anglican Church (335 - 16 Avenue N.W.) on Wednesday, July 24, 1997 at 10:30 a.m. with The Venerable Peter E. Millen officiating. FRASER - Marion (May) Fraser, 109 years, passed away peacefully, June 21, 1997. Predeceased by her husband William of fifty-one years, in Calgary in 1965. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Nan Smallwood (Frank), Edmonton; two granddaughters, Gail Fletcher (Douglas), Grande Prairie, Sharon Smith, St. Albert; three great-grandsons, Chad, Kris, Brett; three nieces, Louise Scott, Edmonton, Margaret Anderson, Niagara Falls, May Ward, Glasgow, Scotland and Buffy, her faithful pal. A resident of Calgary for sixty-one years, she was very active in Knox and Central United Churches. In 1979 she moved to Edmonton to be closer to her family, living in her own apartment until age 99. The family are very appreciative of the loving care she received from the staff at Grandview Extended Care over the past five years and from her physician Dr. Chris Lord. GILL - Mrs. Mohinder Kaur Gill, wife of Bhagwant Singh Gill, passed away suddenly in Chandigarh, India on Wednesday, November 26, 1997. She was born in Nairobi, Kenya on February 2, 1930. Mrs. Gill is survived by her mother Shiam Kaur Mangat; son Tejnider S. Gill (Beevan); daughters, Rani (Surjit S. Lally) and Pali (Nashatar S. Mand); two brothers, four sisters and six grandchildren. ANDERSON - Scott Edward Anderson, beloved husband of Carla Anderson, passed away suddenly on July 21, 1997 at the age of 25 years. HUTCHISON - Roberta Frances (nee Davis) passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on October 6, 1997. Roberta is survived by her husband Burt; son Gordon; daughter Debbie (Rob) Culshaw; two grandchildren, Gwyn and Ashley Culshaw; brother F. Murray "Bud" (Dot) Davis; as well as many family. She was predeceased by her father Bob in August 1973, and her mother Marjorie in March 1997.
