Carol Phillips
Carol Phillips died suddenly on November 20, 2004 at the Laurentian Hospital in Sudbury. She was 63.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband of over 40 years, John; daughter Lisa McCormick (Doug Perkins) and son Lee Phillips (Brenda Christie); grandchildren Autumn McCormick, Jessica Phillips, Daylan Perkins and Scottie Allen; mother Minnie Larocque; brothers Ron Larocque, Rick Larocque (wife Elaine), Paul Larocque (wife Eva) and sisters Shirley Cummings (husband Bruce), Joan Woods (husband Manson) and Deborah Dekkers (husband John).
She was predeceased by her father Victor Larocque and brothers Larry and Jimmy.
The funeral was arranged by Low and Low Funeral Home in Port Perry where the service will be held in the chapel on November 26 at 11 a.m. Lunch to follow the services.
Memorial contributions to the Diabetic Association, Lung or Kidney Foundations would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Allan James A.J. Mott
Allan James A.J. Mott died suddenly on November 20, 2004 in his seventieth year.
Mr. Mott is survived by his wife Donna (n e Currence) and children Debbie, Vicky (Tom) and Paul (Heather), grandchildren Matthew (Sarah), Adam, Bobby and sister Mary Nichol.
He was predeceased by his parents Nina and James Mott, brothers Bob and Arthur.
A gathering will be held for family and friends at a later date.
If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Lung Associations in memory of Mr. Mott.

Wayne Smith
Wayne Smith passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 7, 2004 in his fifty-seventh year.
Wayne Smith of Pembroke beloved husband and best friend of 35 years to June Smith (nee Hillebrecht). Dear father to Jason Smith (wife Lori), Ottawa; and Shawn Smith, Pembroke. Grandpa to Owen Smith. Brother of Betty Warren (husband Cecil), Shakespeare; and Twyllia MacPhee (husband Ray), Brantford.
Predeceased by his mother Edith Smith and his mother and father-in-law Elsie and Irwin Hillebrecht. Brother-in-law to Ray Hillebrecht (wife Janet); and Neil Hillebrecht (wife Joan), all of Mitchell. Lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was at the Malcolm, Deavitt and Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke.
A Memorial Service was held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at 3:00 p.m.
(As an expression of sympathy donations to the Pembroke Handibus would be appreciated).

Margaret Ann Ostrander
Margaret Ann Ostrander died suddenly at Huntsville Regional Health Centre on November 17, 2004 in her sixtieth year.
Mrs. Ostrander (Lee), formerly of Kenabeek, was the beloved partner of Donald Simons of Port Loring and was predeceased by her husband Glen Clifton Ostrander.
She was the loving mother of Wayne Ostrander (Bonnie) of St. Thomas, Donna Skinner (Angus) of Haileybury, Donald Ostrander (Carol) of St. Thomas, Heather Gauthier (Claude) of Haileybury, Verna Carson (Morgan) of Thornloe and Darlene Taillon (David) of Woodstock and grandmother of Tara, Adam, Tina, Jen, Angus, Amy, Carol, Steven, Jessica, Brandy, Brandyn, Krista, Curtis and four great-grandchildren.
She was also the dear sister of Mike Lee of Oshawa and was predeceased by brothers Colin and Ian Lee.
The funeral was arranged by Paul Funeral Home in Powassan with a Lions Club tribute held Friday, November 19 and an Eastern Star service held Saturday, November 20. The funeral service was held at the Paul Funeral Home on November 20.
Relatives and friends from across Ontario attended the service.
If desired, donation s in Mrs. Ostrander s memory to the Daffodil Terrace Lodge would be appreciated by the family.
The family thanked those who attended and those who sent flowers and cards.

Aliette (n e Charette) Kitts
The family announces with sorrow the death of Mrs. Aliette Kitts at Temiskaming Hospital, New Liskeard, Monday, November 22, 2004 in her seventy-ninth year. Surrounded by her family, mom went to be with her Lord.
She moved as a child to Temagami with her family in 1934, where she lived for the past 70 years.
Mrs. Kitts is predeceased by her parents Osias and Hermine Charette; brother Dan Charette and his wife May; grandson Joey Kitts; and brothers-in-law Len Hruda, Gerry Kitts, Stuart Little, Roy Kitts and Armand Lavigne.
Beloved wife of 57 years of Jim and loving mother of Bill (and Billie) of Temagami, Ron (and Cecile) of Winnipeg and Mike (and Lynn) of South Porcupine. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kim Krech (and Jim) of Temagami, Corry Staples (and Jeff) of Callander, Willie Kitts (and Ashley) and Lindsay Kitts of South Porcupine, Rachelle and Ronda Krech of Temagami and special gramma to Sara Laronde of Temagami. Also great nanny to Tyler, Dylan, Tori, Jake, Braedon, James and Caitlyn.
Also left to mourn are her sisters Colette Lavigne of Sudbury, and Pauline Hruda of Winnipeg, brother-in-law Bobby Kitts (and Alice) of Moncton and sisters-in-law Gertie Kitts of Sudbury, Veronica Little and Gloria Kitts of Sault Ste. Marie.
The Kitts Family will welcome friends at the St. Elizabeth s Catholic Church in Temagami on Wednesday, November 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass is on Thursday, November 25 at 11 a.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating.
Interment will follow at the Whispering Pine cemetery Temagami.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Buffam L veill Funeral Home in Haileybury (705-672-3122).
In lieu of flowers mom requested if you consider the Temiskaming Hospital, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 408 Temagami or St. Elizabeth s Catholic Church, Temagami.
The family would like to thank Dr. Steve Goddard and all the staff who assisted in making mom s last few weeks more comfortable.

Bryan Petrant
Brian Petrant of Toronto died at St. Michael s Hospital on Friday, November 19, 2004 at the age of 48.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Mabel (n e Chief) and his infant brother Edward.
Mr. Petrant is survived by his children Bryan Jr., Krista, and Eric; siblings Keith (and Elaine) Chief of London, Bev (and Ken) Charlton of Kirkland Lake, Freddy Petrant of Bear Island, Patricia Ransier (and Dave Lawrence) of South Carolina, and Kathy Ruth Beddows (Petrant) of Sudbury. Also left to mourn are grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Petrant Family will welcome friends at the Buffam L veill Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 24 beginning at 9 a.m. Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12 noon with Father John Lemire officiating.
In Memoriam contributions to the Leukemia Society of Canada will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

Claude Labont
Mr. Claude Labont passed away peacefully at the Temiskaming Hospital on Monday, November 15, 2004 at the age of 63 years. Son of the late Roger and Yvonne (n e Lantaigne) Labont ; and brother of the late Marie-Claire Benoit.
Loving husband of Lise (n e Gauvreau); dear father of: Francine (and Normand) Kirkey, Denis (and M lanie) Labont , Jo l (and Lynda) Labont , Sylvie Labont , Maxine (and Iren ) Drainville, Dani le (and Steve) Laframboise and Myriam (and Pascal) Lalibert . Also left to mourn are his siblings: Gilbert, L o, Aur le, Raymond and Jean-Yves Labont , Lise Labont and Michelle Denis; and 21 grandchildren.
The Labont Family will welcome friends at the Buffam L veill Funeral Home on Friday, November 19, 2004 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church New Liskeard.
Funeral mass in the presence of ashes will follow in the church at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.

Sarah Davidson Alberta
Sarah Davidson Alberta of RR#2, Kenabeek, Cane Township, died November 6, 2004 at the Temiskaming Hospital.
She was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, on January 23, 1911 to Thomas and Mary Skinner.
Educated in southern Ontario, she married Edward Alberta in Elk Lake on August 31, 1933, moving to Northern Ontario from Markdale in the 1930s.
Mrs. Alberta raised eight children, doing all the sewing for them plus the neighbours. She had a green thumb and grew a great garden with beautiful flowers and numerous other things. She was also a member of the Salvation Army.
Mrs. Alberta was predeceased by her husband Edward on February 6, 1999 in North Bay; parents Tom and Mary Skinner; daughters Fay Faulkner and Rosellen Bailey; son Leo Alberta; daughter-in-law Carolyn Alberta; sons-in-law Alfred Bailey and William Faulkner Sr.; sisters Carrie Lafrenier and Rosellen Skinner; brothers Tom Skinner, Bob Skinner, John Skinner, Llewellyn Skinner, Harry Skinner, Evison Skinner and Eldie Skinner; and by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters Iris Vineyard (Roy) of California, Maude Faulkner (Bob) of North Bay, Sharon Rozell (Alex) of Englehart; sons Eldon Alberta (Georgette) of Englehart and Kenneth Alberta (Margaret) of Kenabeek; 23 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel in New Liskeard with the service conducted by Captain N. Fillier.
Pallbearers were grandchildren Steve Alberta, Gordon Faulkner, Rob Faulkner, Laura Aitchison, Joe Short and Daryl Alberta.
Honourary pallbearer was Les Downes.
Burial is at the Rosegrove cemetery in Kenabeek.
The eulogy was delivered by Claire Williams and the lunch was held at the Kenabeek Community Centre.
Relatives and friends from out of town attending the service came from Diamond Bar, California, Lethbridge, Alberta, Gatineau, Quebec, Sault Ste. Marie, Kamloops, British Columbia, Sudbury, Timmins, North Bay, Corbeil, Brantford, Elk Lake and the surrounding area.
