Dick passed gracefully at home with his love Normie at his side. He now is charged with the care of his grandson Thomas, who left us in November, 2007.
He loved British Columbia, from his earlier years in the Cariboo to later in life on Vancouver Island.
First grandson Charlie will keep Dick's unfailing wit and humor alive for us to enjoy for years to come.
He is survived by mother Fran, brothers Don, Dennis and Dan, daughter Billie (Steve) and grandson Charlie.
A service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at St. Anne's Church, 407 Wembley Road, Parksville, BC at 1:00 pm.
Donations to the British Columbia Childhood Cancer Parent's Association (bcccpa.org) in Dick's name gratefully accepted.

Tom was born in Peace River, Alberta on January 29th, 1938. passed away peacefully at home in Parksville, B.C. on February 26, 2008, age 70,
after a long battle with cancer.
Tom leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Dianne, daughter Heather (Dave) of Edmonton, Alberta, son Terry (Jean) and grandson Vincent of Portland, Oregon, and sister Coreen (Sonny)of Westbank. The family is respecting Tom’s wish that no service be held. A small family memorial will be held in the summer.
Thank you to Tom’s friends for all their kindness and a special thank you to the nurses of Community Home Care in Parksville.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nora Hughes (nee Bell) the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Sisters Mary, Margery, Phyllis, Catherine and brother Jack. Nora was born on May 6th, 1916 in Barons, Alberta and passed away on the 26th of February, 2008. She had been residing at Eagle Park Care Facility since 2005.
Nora is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Edward (Ted), daughter Deborah Gail, Son Edward and Daughter-in-law-Deborah. Five granddaughters Cory, Kimberley, Jillian, Jessica and Brittanny.
Nora was a wonderful Wife and Mother and found great joy in her family. Her smiles, hugs, and kisses will be missed by all.
The family wish to thank the wonderful staff of Eagle Park for taking care of our wife, mother and grandmother.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Cancer Society of B.C. would be greatly appreciated.

Born July 9, 1920, near Ituna, Saskatchewan; passed away February 23, 2008 in Qualicum Beach, B.C.
Predeceased by her loving husband Simeon and elder brother Dave. Very sadly missed by her son John and wife Roberta of Hamilton, Ontario, son David and wife Elaine of Mission, B.C.; grandchildren Kirsten, Lorne, Mark and Sara; brothers Chris, Fred (Harry) and Edward, and many other relatives, friends and neighbours. Betty moved to North Vancouver in her teens and graduated from North Vancouver High School. In 1943, she married Simeon and they raised their two sons in North Vancouver. In 1975, they retired and moved to Parksville where Betty enjoyed the beach, her garden, volunteer work, many good friendships, and involvement in the Lutheran Church. Betty gave of herself every day of her life, and her gift of kindness and remarkable grace will be cherished by all who knew her.
A celebration of life was held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church on Thursday, February 28th. If desired, donations in memory of Betty can be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 795 West Island Highway, Parksville, B.C. V9P 1B9.

He leaves behind his childhood sweetheart and Beloved wife of 67 years, 3 wonderful children, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one sister.
Les spent most of his life with his one and only Gwen with whom he embarked on many adventures, including raising a wonderfully loving family, traveling the world, and immigrating to Canada in 1988. He had incredible zest for life and knew how to live it. Les was always the consummate gentleman and will be sadly missed by all who loved him and all that knew him.
In respect to his wishes no memorial will be held.
In lieu of flowers his family ask that donations be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada.

OSWALD, Graham John (Jack), born in Langley October 26, 1925 passed away peacefully on May 13, 2007 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Betty of 58 years, daughters Valdene, Susan(Jim) and Brenda, son Ralph(Kim). Seven grandchildren and spouses, six great grandchildren and two on the way. And sister Doreen Abernathy (Oswald) of Maine USA. Jack was born, raised and lived his entire life in Langley where he raised his family. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by all those who loved and knew him. He was a wonderful role model, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family meant everything to him. He was always there to lend a helping hand with anyone of his family or friends who needed his help. We would like to thank the Langley Hospice for all their help and kindness given to him and our family in his last few days. There will be a celebration of Jack's life at Jim and Sue Hatch's house on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at 1 p.m. 6287-190 Street, Surrey B.C. SKULSTAD - Arne, born October 9, 1930, Bergen, Norway, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on April 11, 2005 following a long and valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease.
