Muriel Alaine Jacobs (nee Goodwin), a former long time resident of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, was born on December 21st, 1917 in Colgate, Saskatchewan and passed away on January 27th, 2008 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 90 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family, Ray (Betty) Jacobs of Vernon, B.C., Bob Jacobs and Grace Jacobs, both of Calgary, Alberta (Deista, Coralie and their families) and Ellen Martin of Castlegar, B.C.; three grandchildren, Steven (Glenda) Jacobs of Red Deer, Alberta, Carolyn (Rick) Ververda of Vernon, B.C. and Ken (Josie) Jacobs of Medicine Hat, Alberta; four great-grandchildren, Josh, Krysten, Raya and Quin; one brother, Gordon (Mildred) Goodwin of Weyburn, Saskatchewan; two sisters, Evelyn Aasen of Coronach, Saskatchewan and Irene (Cal) Young of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1983 and her sister and brother-in-law, Helen & Ed Elford in 2006.
Muriel was a very outgoing and pleasant woman who had a wonderful gift of being able to communicate with everyone. Her family and friends were so important to her that her days were spent keeping in touch with them all, usually by telephone. She loved the Lord and was very involved with church activities over the years.
Cremation preceded the Memorial Service which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Minister Murray Ververda officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel.

With deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of MONA GUDEIT on January 27 at the age of 88 with family by her side. Mona was born in Edgewood, July 20, 1919. She will be lovingly remembered by Bill her devoted husband of nearly 68 years and their 5 children Robert (Darlene), Herb (Terry), Maureen Hoogers (Norman), Gordon (Colene), and Leonard (Shelley). Mona will be deeply missed by her eighteen treasured grandchildren who brought her great joy, Vivian Evans (Bob), Lana Gudeit, Lee-Ann Gudeit, Cora-Lee Baker (Derek), Schelley McRae (James), Gary Hoogers (Kyla), Myrna Hoogers, Sherry Hoogers, Lonnie Hoogers, Sherri Miller (Lee), Nichole Oakden, Laura Leckhy (JR), Jolene Gudeit, Dustin Gudeit, Darren Gudeit (Kristen), Rochelle Volker, Breanne Volker, Channai Volker and 11 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Emily (Rolly) Henry and brother Sid (Maddy) Hopp, and sister-in-law, Doris Hopp. Mona was pre-deceased by her sister Dorothy MacPherson and brother Burt Hopp. The family would like to extend their appreciation for all the care and kindness shown to Mona from all the caregivers and support staff while at Canterbury Court, Carrington Place, and Heron Grove, Cottage Six. Myrtle Schwartz passed away peacefully in Polson Extended Care on January 26, 2008, at age 84. Myrtle was born to Adam and Elizabeth Bohnet as the 13th child of 17 in Orion, Alberta, on December 29, 1923. She married Gideon Schwartz on July 3, 1943 in Calgary, Alberta. Myrtle was survived by daughter Eleanora (Ron), sons, David (pre-deceased Hazel), Vernon (Velma), Leon (Suzie), 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Myrtle was Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother to many more children she thought of as her own. Myrtle was pre-deceased by husband Gideon (1990), 2 daughters, a son, a granddaughter and daughter-in-law. Myrtle will be lovingly remembered for her perseverance in hard times, her green thumb and especially her crocheting. It is with sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Laughton on January 26, 2008. Doris was born in Sheffield, England in May 1920 and came to Canada as a war bride to join her new husband Richard Laughton in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She is pre-deceased by her husband “Dick” and son Johny. She leaves behind her niece Elizabeth and family, nephews David and Don and their families, sister in-law Eva, Howard and Jane and families in England, and beloved dog “Toby”. Doris will be missed by her friends. A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at her home, on February 3, 2008 at 2:30 P.M. It’s with the heaviest of hearts we release Brenda from our arms into the loving arms of our mother.
Brenda leaves behind her cherished children Damien & Devan (Josh). Her loving family, father Lloyd, brothers Bob (Judy) & Glen, sisters Debbie & Bev (Russ). She was a very proud aunty of all her nieces, nephews, and their children. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and very good friends.
Her departure has left a void in the lives of everyone who knew her, for there was only one Brenda. She will be lovingly remembered for her kind heart, sensitive nature, sense of humor, and for just being Brenda.
A service will be held to remember Brenda on Wednesday, January 30th, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. Captain Sean Wong officiating.

Augusta Kruger (nee Neitsch) was born on July 1st, 1916 in Poland and passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2008 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, having reached the age of 91 years.
She is survived by her loving family; her daughter, Lillian (Bob) Weatherill; her son, Derek Kruger; two grandchildren, Darrell (Jonna) and Carrie Lynn Weatherill and four great-grandchildren, Keaton, Reese, Brennen and Lincoln Weatherill. She is also survived by Frieda Kupker, her last remaining sibling, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Reinhard on May 12th, 1994, her parents and apart from Frieda, all her other brothers and sisters.
Oma grew up on a family farm in Poland and immigrated to Canada after the second world war in March, 1948. Here she met Reinhard, they married in 1948 and together raised their children and operated a family orchard on L&A; Road in the BX District for their entire lives. Faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, love of her family, her church and dedication to work in the orchard were the essence of her life.
Those wishing to pay their last respects to Augusta may do so at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, January 29th, 2008 from 7:00-8:00 P.M. A Graveside Service will be held at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Wednesday, January 30th, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. followed by a celebration of Oma’s faith and life at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Roy White officiating.

Reita LaVerne Blackstock passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Aged 72 years. Reita will be lovingly remembered by mother Sara Watson of Armstrong; sons Steve (Linda) of Enderby, Darryl of Armstrong and Loren of Enderby; daughter-in-law Kim Haggart of 100 Mile House; grandchildren Jennifer (Justin), Shyla, Wayne, Amanda, Allison, Savana and Nia; great grandchildren Keziah, Sophie and Titus; brothers and sisters Shirley (Johnny) Schnarr of Saskatchewan, Carl (Amy) Watson of Chase, Bob (Chris) Watson of Sunshine Coast and twin sister Rose (Eddy) Cosman of Coalmont, BC. She was pre-deceased by husband Al in 2007, son Wayne and her father Frank Watson. Born in Vancouver, Reita lived on the family farm in Lone Butte and attended school there. She and Al were married in 1957 and lived in 100 Mile House until 1980 when they moved to Armstrong. Reita worked for many years at the Field Store in Armstrong. She enjoyed her family, friends, birds and animals. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Mountain View Chapel. Kelly Grittner officiating.
