INGRAM, George Eric Monday, 24 Mar 2008
Langley, BC
April 3, 1912 - March 24, 2008
After a wonderful adventurous life of 95 years, we are sad to announce the passing of our beloved father, and grandfather, George (Gerry) Ingram. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughter Barbara Ellen, son-in-law, Gordon and grandsons, Jeremy and Rory.
George was born in Quetta, Pakistan in 1912 where he lived with his family until the war started in 1939. During the war he served as a British newsreel photographer and was awarded the Most Exalted Member of the British Empire (MBE) for outstanding service. In 1951, George immigrated to Sydney, Australia where he married Heather Aimee Treloar and lived a full and happy life until 1989, when after the passing of his wife; he joined his daughter and her family in Cloverdale, B.C., Canada. During his life in Canada, he created wonderful relationships, loved his family, built a log cabin and enjoyed his gardens at his country cottage next door to his daughter's home.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the firemen and ambulance /paramedic personnel who attended to George at his home, and to the staff of Surrey Memorial Hospital Emergency Room for their compassionate help.
George (affectionately known as Boppi to his grandchildren) passed away peacefully on March 24, 2008. A Celebration of his life will be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 20955 Old Yale Rd., Langley, B.C. on Saturday, April 5 at 1 pm. Any and all who have been touched by George's generous spirit are welcome to come by to share their memories of his life at Barbi and Gordon's home after the service.

In 1962, they moved to Sylvan Lake, where they became the proprietors of the Steam Baths, built by Richard's father and brother, and a reflection of their Finnish heritage. In 1975, they headed for Saltspring Island, where Richard worked until retirement for BC Ferries. On SSI, they built a house, were avid gardeners and enjoyed sharing their new lifestyle with friends and family. Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us; our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life. - Einstein -

Sister, Aunt & Friend
They say memories are golden,
Well, maybe that is true;
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried;
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still;
In my heart you hold a piece
No one could ever fill.
But now I know you want me
To mourn for you no more,
To remember the happy times
Life still has much in store.
Since you’ll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today;
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you’ll always stay.
If tears could build a stairway
And heartache make a lane;
I’d walk the path to heaven
And bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same;
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
