Anne was an Elder of Langley Presbyterian Church but due to ill health over the last few years she had to reluctantly give up her active role in the church. Anne suffered greatly from rheumatoid arthritis and her family would like to thank Dr Kenneth Ng for all his care and support to Anne.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at Henderson’s Langley Funeral Home on Saturday, 7 June at 11am. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Langley Memorial Hospital. Anne will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

VEENSTRA, HENRY Tuesday, 27 Nov 2007
Vernon, BC
Bill Veenstra passed away, surrounded by his family, at the Palliative Care section of the Nanaimo Regional Hospital on Tuesday morning, November 27th after a six month struggle with cancer.
Bill was the much loved husband of Sandra, father of Bill Jr (Susan Dent), Natalie (John Kraski), Margo (George Porro), and Dan (Tammie Wiens), grandfather of Chris (Holli), Matthew, Lindsay, Joshua, Amy, Natalia, Darion and twins Julia and Adella.
Bill is survived by his brothers John (Reta), Ernie (Rosemarie) and Bob (Rosemary), mother-in-law Natalie Corkum, and brother-in-law Hugh Corkum as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins and families in Holland and England.
Bill was born in Edam, Saskatchewan on May 1st, 1929 to Margaret and John Veenstra. His dad died when Bill was ten years old but his mother raised a most wonderful son! Bill graduated from grade 12 and immediately filled a vacancy as a teacher after six weeks of training in 1947., ultimately earning his BA, B Ed and Masters Degrees. Bill was a much loved and respected teacher and school principal in Saskatchewan, with DND at 3F Wing at Zweibrucken, Germany, in Vernon, B.C., at Okanagan College in Vernon, in the Yukon, and, after five retirement parties, was a teacher-on-call for senior math. Bill loved his profession, having been in Education for 51 years!!
While in Germany, Bill met and married a fellow teacher, Sandra Corkum from Nova Scotia. Their union resulted in four children of whom Bill was always very proud. He was such a wonderful husband and father! Vernon was where the family grew up and is the place very close to the hearts of our family!
Bill was a most caring, loving man, an avid gardener, loved playing the piano, loved singing, having participated in many choirs, especially lately enjoying and appreciating Knox United church choir here in Parksville. He was a member of many organizations over the years, one of which was being on the executive of the provincial B.C. Teachers association.
Bill had a deep love for his wife, his family and for his fellow man. He will be so very much missed by all who knew him! Any donations in Bill’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Foodgrains bank, World Vision or a charity of your choice.
Our family wishes to thank Dr Rob Waite, the Home Care nurses, the staff at Nanaimo Regional Hospital and the special care this past week at the Palliative Care section of the hospital. We all loved Bill so much!
A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at Knox United Church in Parksville on Monday, December 3rd at 1:30pm., followed by a reception at the Quality Bayside Resort Hotel.
