May 15, 1929 - April 2, 2008
Mary was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully went to be with her Lord on April 2, 2008 in Abbotsford, B.C.
She is finally free from pain after many years of suffering from debilitating rheumatoid arthritis.
Mary was born in Kenton, Manitoba; the oldest of eleven children of Paul and Annie Bergman. They moved to Agassiz, B.C. when Mary was one year old and later to Yarrow where she grew up.
There she met the love of her life, Abe Friesen and they were married on October 24, 1950. They moved to Vancouver to start their life together. They were blessed with 3 children and raised them in a loving, secure home in Surrey, in which they lived from 1960 to 1990. Many wonderful memories come from those years. Their next move was to Abbotsford to spend their retirement years.
Mary is best described as a woman of faith and courage whose heart for God was evident in everything she said and did. These things gave her the amazing ability to rise above the difficult challenges in her life.
Mary is pre-deceased by her parents, Anne and Paul Bergman, her brothers Rusty and Jack and her daughter-in-law Bea.
She is remembered with love and admiration by her devoted husband Abe Friesen, her son Norm Friesen, her daughters Cary (Andy) Harrison and Dorothy (Mike) Meerkerk; her grandchildren Matt Friesen, Scott (Eliina) Friesen, Tony (Monica) Friesen, Heidi (Mark) Berg, Jordan (Erin) Harrison, Melissa (Jay) Lundgren, Drew Harrison, Jesse Meerkerk and Kenny Meerkerk; and great-grandchildren; Jayda, Cyrus, Matix and Audrey.
