Beloved husband of Marion for 60 years, dear father of Carol (Patrick) O'Brien of Mission, B.C., Janet (Randy) Hills of Saskatoon, dear grandpa of Sarah Hills, Colleen (Patrick) O'Brien, Chris Hills, and Katie (Gareth) Davis, and dear brother of Florence Gates, Windsor, ON.

Diplock, Elisha Carolina passed away suddenly on August 26th 2008 in her 25th year in New York City.
Ellie left for New York 7 years ago to become a successful model and clothing designer. She is sadly missed by her mother Barbara Trudgian (Brandon Boyes), her father Brad Diplock; sisters Crystal Diplock, Harmony Allen (Ryan); brother Bryce Boyes; nephews Sam & Noah Allen; niece Gracy Diplock; grandparents Olga & Jack Trudgian and Bernard & Faye Diplcok.
Memorial Services will be held on September 20, 2008 at 1:30 pm at Northside Community Church on Dewdney Trunk Rd in Mission with Pastor Redekop. She was laid to rest on Sept 2, 2008 at sleepy Hollows Cemetery in New York.

Mary (May) Agnes Cooper (nee Lumsden) of Abbotsford, formerly of Montreal, Quebec, passed away in Christine Morrison Hospice, Mission, B.C. at the age of 86 years.Predeceased by husband John Cooper, she is survived by her three children, Deborah Winsby, (Bryden) of Kelowna, Rita (Jim Sikma) of Abbotsford and Ross (Takako) of Japan and her grandchildren, Meghan, B.J. Tirzah, James, Rose and John, great-granddaughter Vayda and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday September 26th at Cascade Community church on Delair Rd., Abbotsford. Reception to follow.

PAULS, David – Born November 14, 1927 in Gnadenthal, Manitoba to Cornelius and Elizabeth Pauls. David entered into the presence of his Lord on Monday, August 25, 2008. Predeceased by his parents and brothers Cornelius and John. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Neta. Children Murray (Rhonda), Jonathan, Eunice (Andrew). Grandchildren Craig, Jesse, Maegan, Jeremy, James, David, Sara, Michael and Anna. Brothers Jake (Martha) and Henry as well as extended family members and dear friends. David was a hardworking, dedicated family man who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 10:30 am at the County Line Christian Fellowship - 26460 – 52nd Ave in Aldergrove, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Crossroads Ministries.

Father Harold Kaufmann of Saskatoon SK., passed away on August 25, 2008 at the age of 78.
He is survived by his Missionary Oblate brothers; his sisters, Betty Smith, Abbotsford, Sr. Connie Kaufmann, S.P., Cloverdale, his sister in law Katherine Kaufmann and several nieces and nephews. Fr. Kaufmann was pre-deceased by his father, Jacob, his mother, Helen (Ulsifer), his brother Jack and his brother in law Doug Smith. Father Kaufmann was born in Cavell, SK, on July 6, 1930. He entered the Novitiate of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1949 and professed his First Vows on September 9, 1950 at St. Laurent, MB. Following his seminary formation at St. Charles Scholasticate, in Battleford, SK, Father Kaufmann was ordained to the ministerial priesthood on October 2, 1955, in Leipzig, SK.
For much of his priesthood, Father Kaufmann worked in service of his religious community. Living in the St. Charles community, he was the bursar of the Oblate residence, the Scholasticate, the communications center, and the director of Batschol Farm for many years. Batschol Farm was a mixed dairy, beef and grain farm which provided financial resources for the Oblate community. The farm was a ministry for those who worked there, providing an oblate presence among the farmers in Saskatchewan.
In August, 1979, Father Kaufmann was appointed Treasurer of St. Mary's Province, a position which he held for the next eighteen years. During that time, he also was pastor of St. Joseph's Parish in Saskatoon from 1988 to 1993 and provided weekend ministry in Imperial, Liberty and Holdfast, SK from 1993 - 1997.
Father Kaufmann was sensitive to those who struggled with addictions and was involved in setting up the Hopeview Center in North Battleford, SK. He also served St. Mary's Province with a special portfolio of reaching out to his Oblate brothers who had particular needs.
Following his long tenure of community service and at the age of 67, Father Kaufmann volunteered to go to Kenya, to help set up a mission for the Oblates of the Canadian region, in the Diocese of Meru. He served there for six years. When Father Kaufmann returned to Canada, he lived with the Oblate community in Battleford.
In April 2005 he moved to Mazenod Residence in Saskatoon, where he resided until his death.
Father Kaufmann was wholly committed to his religious community and would serve in whatever capacity was asked of him. He was particularly attentive to his Oblate brothers who were suffering and in the wider community, to both men and women who were in need of a kind, gentle and compassionate ear. Father Kaufmann was also a very happy person and the sounds of his laughter will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Funeral services were held on August 28th in Battleford, SK. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Missionary Oblates - Kenya Missions.

Berg, David a resident of Abbotsford, passed into the presence of his Lord on November 21, 2007 at the MSA Hospital, age 95 years. David was pre-deceased by his granddaughter Brenda in 1966, his son Ferdinand in January 1992, and his wife Katherine in February 1994.
Our dad will be remembered by his loving family daughter in law Helga Berg, Genevieve (Dwight) Steele, Ronald (Ruth) Berg, Frank (JoAnne) Berg, Steven (Karen) Berg, 19 grandchildren, and 43 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Monday November 26, 2007 12:30-1:30pm at South Abbotsford MB Church 32424 Huntingdon Rd. Abbotsford. Reception to follow. Burial will take place on Wednesday November 28 at 12:00pm at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens, Calgary, Alta. Mika Bergen passed away quietly at the Tabor Home on November 21, 2007. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 60 years, Isaac, son Pete (Sherry) Esther, Heather, Kimberle, son Henry (Heidi) Joshua, Jason, Jolene, son John (Karen) Darci, Conner, Jodi (Kerry Dyck) Owen, Karson and daughter Marita (Peter Gunther) Sonja (Danny Hiebert) Brooke, Devyn, Christy (John Jefremow) Janae, Steven (Jackie) and BJ, her sister Lena Flore, brothers Henry (Carol) and Abe (Mae), two sister-in-laws Elisabeth Krahn and Luzie Bergen and many nieces and nephews.
Mika was born in the Ukraine to Peter and Maria Krahn (Janzen). She married Isaac Bergen in April 1947. They came to Canada in 1948 and settled in Abbotsford where she worked on the farm with berries and chickens while Isaac built up his construction business. Mika especially enjoyed gardening and all kinds of handwork. Her greatest joy in life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mika's life will be honoured on Monday November 26, 2007. Public viewing will be held at Ebenezer Menn. Church from 9-10 am with interment to follow at Maclure Road Cemetery. A memorial will take place at 12 noon at Ebenezer Menn. Church, 2051 Windsor Street, Abbotsford.

Sean Lawrence passed away suddenly on November 20, 2007. He was born on April 18, 1990 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was a Grade 12 student at Robert Bateman Senior Secondary School. He is survived by his loving family, parents Dave and Adele Phillips, and two brothers Richard and Mark; grandparents Art and Mary Magnus; relatives – Lyle (Ann) Magnus, Robert, Dennis, Eliina (Scott) Eliisha, Ben. Terry Magnus, Sabrina. Charles (Joyce) Magnus, Steven, Victoria. Cindy (Wilf) Andrus, David (Karalee), Rachel (Trevor), Rebecca. Wanda (Mike) Nyvall, Eric (Mary), Daryl (Jenessa). Kevin, (Sandra) Magnus, Megan, Brianne, Colton. Gloria (Clint) Neuls. Mike (Kathy) Phillips, Jonathan, Andrew, Meaghan. Judy Phillips, Ruth-Ann (Kiran) Segarty. Predeceased by grandparents John Phillips and Audrey Phillips-Kronstrom.
Sean was passionate about baseball. He was a team leader, motivator, and cheerleader on the Abbotsford Cardinals. Sean was an avid fan of the Seattle Mariners & the Seattle Seahawks, attending as many games as possible.
He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
Viewing will be on Thursday, Nov. 22 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. in Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Rd., Abbotsford, officiated by Quentin Steen.
