Deadman, Shelley (Rochelle) Marie Rae Friday, 21 Mar 2008
Port Hardy, BC
August 28, 1985 - March 21, 2008
Shelley (Rochelle) and her sister Miranda completed the Deadman family in August 1987. We spent three wonderful years in Vanderhoof as a family of four and then relocated to Port Hardy where Shelley attended Eagle View Elementary School and Port Hardy Secondary. We thank the many patient and caring teachers and support workers who worked with Shelley while she was attending school.
Epilepsy was just one of the challenges Shelley faced as she struggled to find her place in the world. Thank you to our friends and to the many others who helped Shelley with her struggles and who saw the large heart she carried within. Her outlook on people was simple: if you treated her nicely she thought you were a good person. This philosophy was not without its flaws as Shelley came to know a large number of people from all walks of life.
We wish our time with Shelley was not so short. We are hoping that she has gone on to a better place where she is happy and her goodness shines brightly for all to see.
Shelley is sadly missed by her parents Lauren and Tim Deadman of Port Hardy, her sister Miranda Deadman of Kamloops, grandmother Dorothy Westlake of Port Hardy (formerly of Newmarket Ontario), her grandparents in Union Bay B.C. Ted and Elenor Deadman, her aunts Nancy Deadman and Becky Bray in Toronto, her aunt and uncle in Fort Erie Ontario Joanne Perrow and Marv Dickson, Aunt Heather and Uncle Peter Chapman in Fort Smith Arkansas, Aunt Bonnie Gilchrist in Comox, Uncle Wayne Gilchrist in Campbell River, Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Mike Thivierge in Holland Landing Ontario, Aunt Lynne Westlake in Palmerston Ontario and Uncle John and Aunt Maureen Westlake in Baden Ontario, as well as by cousins Amy (and Joe) Sheehan in Fonthill, Ontario, Jennifer (and Scott Kooy, children Alia and Aiden) in Kitchener Ontario, Heather Perrow in Kitchener, Katelynn Chapman, Kevin Chapman and Kyle Chapman of Fort Smith Arkansas, Caitlin Thivierge in Holland Landing and other relatives and friends in Southern Ontario.
