Due to a tragic logging accident on Feb.12 Norman Francis Sinclair aka FRANK lost his life.
He is pre-deceased by his father, Bunty, and his sister, Linda Louise.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, son Norm (Tricia) daughter, Tammy (Brad), grandchildren Kolby, Raina, Oshan, Ava, and Tanner, mother, Carole, brother, Joe and sister, Debbie.
Frank enjoyed his employment in the logging industry his entire working life and loved to spend time on the ocean.
Frank will be sadly missed by countless relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Feb.23 (1-4pm) at the Gold River Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Frank's name to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Henry Nickey passed away peacefully in Nanaimo January 23, 2008. He is survived by a sister Esther Bisson and brother George, both of Vancouver.
Henry was born in Vancouver in 1927. His first job was with the CPR as a fireman on the steam locomotives. Henry liked to travel. He soon moved to Australia, then to the Solomon Islands, then to Papua, New Guinea.
He worked for the GM in Australia, managed a coffee plantation, and managed a department store in Papua, New Guinea. He later moved back to Canada and worked at Island Copper til his retirement.
He had many friends and acquaintances in Port Hardy and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall on 5101 Beaver Harbour Road, Saturday, February 9 at 2:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and pay their last respects.

Mom went home to the Lord January 16 2008 at the age of 75. She is survived by her brother Lloyd and sisters Joyce, Elaine and Marilyn. She will be lovingly remembered by her nine children; Robert (Renee), Doris, Marlene (Chris), Allan, Myrna (Greg), Lillian (Jim), John (Rhea), Carol (David), Christopher (Nadia) as well as 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her children and grandchildren will forever remember Grandma “Wool’s” stories.
Mom had a generous and hospitable spirit; quick to offer a helping hand, a meal, cup of tea or a listening ear. Her door was always open. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday January 26th at the Sointula cemetery.

Tom passed away suddenly in Victoria on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife Margaret, his six children Lynne (Mike), Barbara (Mike), David (Kimberly), Robert (Mariea), Mark (Nadine), and Karen (Nick). He also leaves to mourn his passing twelve grand-children and four great grandchildren. Tom spent his early years proudly serving our country as a member of the Queens Own Rifles. He later moved to Port Alice where he became a familiar face in the Port Alice mill before he retired. One of Tom’s favorite pastimes was to greet his friends and neighbours during his walks around the small community he chose to call his home. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Jeneece’s Variety Club.
A graveside eulogy for friends and family will be held at Yates Funeral Services, 1000 Allsbrook Rd. in Parksville on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at 687 Tamarack Dr. Qualicum.
For those unable to attend the Parksville service, a memorial will be held in Port Alice and will be announced on channel 10 once a date has been chosen.

Morley passed away at Port Hardy Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. He will be missed by so many friends, family members and acquaintances, but especially by his wife of 12 years, Janice Traill. He is also survived by his mother, Emmelien Davis, brother, Rev. Mel Davis (Bernice), sister, Joy Reid, his daughter, Lyneve Cooper (Doug) and granddaughters, Amanda and Aleesha Cooper.
Morley was a truly supportive friend to people of all ages and was always there to lend an experienced ear or shoulder to those in need. He could be gruff and stubborn but possessed a gentle, kind heart.
Morley was one of a kind and will be remembered with love by many.

passed away peacefully at Three Links Manor with family by his side. Gerald was born in Hazenmore, Saskatchewan and in 1930 moved with his family to Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. In 1942, he married Jean Laxdal, the love of his life and they spent 58 years together until Jean's passing in May of 2000. They raised their family of seven in Meadow Lake where Jerry operated Joyal's Trucking. Summers were spent at the Greig Lake cabin. In 1985, they moved to Kelowna which was always their dream. During those years, they wintered in Yuma, Arizona. Wherever Gerald was he made lasting friendships. He had a wonderful love of life as well as a genuine interest in and love for people. He always made everyone feel special and they loved him. Pre-deceased by his wife Jean, his daughter Patricia Bacon, his sister Ethel and her husband Maurice Gran as well as his brother Wilfred Joyal. He is mourned by his four daughters: Dianne (Rodney) Friesen, Debra (Robert) MacDonald, Judith (David) Riddell, Lori Thomas, his two sons: Bruce (Joyce) Joyal, Dale Joyal, son in law; Tom Bacon; 12 grandchildren Doug, Lee, Tracey, Shawn, Jason, Kevin, Tyler, Jillian, Robyn, Britne, MacKenzie, Ally; 12 great grandchildren; his brother Jack (Evelyn) Joyal; sister in law Amy Joyal and all his nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by his many dear friends. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Three Links Manor who provided such excellent care to him. Katherine Doris passed away peacefully on April 2, 2008 at Cottonwoods Care Centre at the age of 90 years. Survived by her loving son Douglas (Anne) of Kelowna and daughter Patricia (Barry) MacDonald of Calgary. Katherine is pre-deceased by her husband James Arthur orchardist of South Kelowna. She is also pre-deceased by her sister Ethel Kliewer, brothers Arthur Peterman and Wilbert Peterman. Katherine was born on July 24, 1917 in Kelowna. She went to the old Okanagan School in Benvoulin, high school in Kelowna and later attended Herberts Business College. She worked at the Packing House, B.C. Tree Fruits and at Rutherford Bazett as a secretary. Katherine served with the RCAF as a wireless operator in Gander, Newfoundland during the Second World War Later she volunteered at the Kelowna General Hospital. Moms hobbies were painting, sewing and her beloved garden which she tended to up until last year. Her love of gardening, flowers and birds is reflected in the many photos and pictures that surrounded her in her home. A Memorial Service will be held on April 8, 2008 at 1 pm at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna with Major Les Burrows officiating. In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may donate to the charity of their choice.

ALAN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the age of 76. He is survived by his loving family: daughter Suzanne Grimble (Randy) of Lacombe, AB; sons David (Carol-Ann) of White Rock, BC, Dennis (Sandra) of Kelowna; eight grandchildren: Angela (Jason) Houston, Melissa and Alan Ainsley, Jamie and Jesse Scarf, Nicholas and Mallory Ainsley, Sarah Ainsley, Karen and Julie Burke and Annie (Matt); three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Sadly pre-deceased by his wife Joan and his son James in 2003. Alans family will remember him for the love, trust and support he and Joan provided them and for their straight backs, due to his constant shoulder squeezing! WOLFGANG Gerhard Wolf passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. He was born October 13, 1932 in Krobsdorf, Germany. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Inge and his two children: Christina Limmer and Peter (Heather); three grandchildren: Jessica Weber (Darren Nobrega), Garret Weber and Alexandra Limmer. Wolf came to Canada in 1954 and started his working life in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. He subsequently retired from Esso Chemicals and moved to Kelowna in 1991. He was a hard worker and always got involved with local groups and associations. Wolf was the current President of the Esso Retirees Club and he loved to sing in the Liedertafel. His quick wit and infectious sense of humor touched all those around him. Wolf will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 11:00 am at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2091 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC with interment to follow in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
