Greg Garvin passed away peacefully on August 25, 2008 with his wife by his side. He was born October 7, 1965 in Quesnel, B.C.
Greg is lovingly remembered by his wife Dori, children Lane, Jordon and Brianne. Parents Gene and Hilda Garvin and his sisters Holly and Kelli Garvin.
Dori and her children would like to wish a heartfelt thanks to their many friends who have supported them during this difficult time. They also would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Buys, Dr. Aziz and the nurses at G. R. Baker Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care for Greg.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 1:00pm at the Northstar Baptist Church. Pastor John Nicholson will officiate.

Harry Chadwick was born June 1st, 1933 in Vancouver and passed away August 8th, 2008 at G. R. Baker Memorial Hospital with his family by his side, he was 75.
Harry is survived by his wife Carol, his sons Shayne (Rita), Shawn (Stacey), daughter Elaine, Grandchildren Kyle, Kaylee, Chase, Evan, Jenna, Great-grandchildren Jordon, Justin, Trysen, Sisters Nellie and Peggy.
Harry was pre-deceased by his father Archie, mother Edith, sisters Helen, Gertrude and Lola, sons Harry Chadwick Jr. and Kenneth Chadwick.
Harry started his working career by going to the Queen Charlotte Island with his father in a camp doing high lead logging, he worked there for a few years then moved on to Ocean Falls where he bought a West Coast Troller which he named Star Dust, he fished for a living for a number of years, he also worked on a rock quarry then moved to Vancouver and got a job as a waiter on the ferries for a few years. He worked in Vancouver Hospital on Maintenance for a short time then moved to the Cariboo where he got a job at Weldwood, then to West Fraser, then there was an opening at G. R. Baker so he worked there for 25 years. He retired in 1994. Harry enjoyed talking on the C. B. radio where he talked to people all over the country, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, getting wood. Harry loved spending time with his relations and friends at the coast, especially his sister. Harry was very much a people person who loved to joke around, was a very generous and caring person, who will be loving missed by his wife, family and friends.

Freda Marie Baity passed away peacefully on August 6, 2008 aged 96 years. She was born January 23, 1912 in Brantford, Ontario.
Freda was pre-deceased by her husband Earl.
Freda and Earl were long time residents of Quesnel B.C. prior to their move to Squamish in 1990 due to illness and wanting to be closer to their family.
Freda is lovingly remembered by her 2 daughters Lorraine Hurren, Hattie (Dick) Olsen, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and by her many other relatives and friends.
Freda spent 8 happy years at Hilltop House, and the family extends their gratitude and thanks to all the Doctors, nurses and staff of Hilltop House.
A service of remembrance was held Monday August 11, 2008.

It is with great sadness that we announce that after a courageous battle with cancer Sharon Patricia Daggitt passed away peacefully at the age of 69 surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by her husband of 50 years, Rae; daughters Tammy (Danny), Shelley (Michael); son Randy (Carol); grandchildren Tanya (Marlon), Shayne, Kristen (Chris), Dustin, Shelby, Hailey, Hayden & Spencer; great-grandchildren Chase, Ryder & Tylor. Sharon’s greatest pride and joy in life was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed traveling, history, having coffee with her friends and family, going for walks, Kayaking, swimming, playing cards, a good movie and volunteering. Sharon’s gentle nature, positive attitude and outlook on life was an inspiration to us all.
Thank-you to everyone who shared and was part of Sharon’s life. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held in Quesnel at the Seniors Center, 461 Carson Avenue, Quesnel, B.C. V2J 2B2 on Friday, September 5th, 2008, from 2pm to 4pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Sharon’s name to the B.C. Cancer Society.
MacAlister, Francis May Sunday, 27 Jul 2008

Francis May MacAlister (nee Bell) passed away on July 27, 2008 at Dunrovin Park Lodge in Quesnel, B.C.
A family gathering was held on August 2, 2008 at the home of Harold and Evelyn Gillin with tributes by her grandchildren to honour her memory.
Francis was cremated and her cremains are with her husband and son on a hill above Macalister farm.
Francis was born on February 19, 1914 in Winnipeg, Man. to parents Sidney and Maggie Bell. She had one brother Charlie and four sisters, Mary, Margaret, Lois and Evelyn. The family moved from the farm in Sask. at a young age to a farm in Cowichan and later to Victoria where her father was a gardener.
Francis married Joseph Macalister on October 30, 1940.
Francis worked at Spencer’s Dept. Store in Victoria, then married and raised her family on a farm at Macalister. She belonged to the Women’s Institute in Alexandria and the OAPO in Quesnel and she retired to Dragon Lake.
She is survived by her children Evelyn (Harold) Gillin, Linda (Bob) Macham, Kathryn (Wes) Byrd, sisters Lois, Evelyn, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Joe, son Bill, brother Charlie, sisters Mary and Margaret.
In lieu of flowers donations in Francis’ memory may be made to the Dunrovin Activity Fund or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. McFetridge and the staff at Dunrovin Lodge for the wonderful care given to Francis.

Laura Falloon (nee-Marien) was born in Beggar SK., March 6, 1916 and passed away in Quesnel B.C. July 27, 2008. Laura was an avid gardener, and loved having company to share her beautiful home and garden with. She was generous and loyal to family and friends, and to her many charities that promoted education and support for young people. She will be greatly missed. Laura was pre-deceased by her husband Victor Falloon in (2001), 4 brothers, daughter-in-law Cherlynn and her son Nigel, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her daughters Lillian Dunbar of Kamloops, Norah Marien of Prince Albert, Sask.; Stella Shayka of Edmonton, Alberta; son Jim Falloon of Quesnel, B.C. 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, special friends Carol and Janice of Quesnel, B.C. two sisters, one brother and many in-laws from Prince Albert and Smeaton area.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Walker, Meals on Wheels, Home Support, GR Baker Hospital and Baker Lodge Staff for their care and support of our mother.
Service to be held at Clayton’s Funeral Home Wednesday; August 6, 2008 at 1:00pm Interment in Smeaton, Alberta; August 11, 2008.

Elizabeth Lila Mildred Thideman passed away on July 26, 2008 at her home in Quesnel, B.C.
A celebration of life was held on July 31, 2008 at the home of Jim and Ellen Worobetz in Quesnel.
Elizabeth was born in Kitchen, Sask. on July 31, 1932. She received her schooling in Sask., but got polio at the age of 16 years, so was unable to finish her schooling. Her time was spent learning to walk again.
She met Raymond Thideman, the love of her life, and they married on July 3, 1956 in Quesnel, B.C. and had one daughter, Janet.
She was very dedicated to her family. The coffee and tea were always on. She loved to share her stories over a cup of tea.
Elizabeth worked at Stedmans, the bakery and went to work at Weldwood where she worked until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter Janet, granddaughters Jolene (Jeff King), Kaylynn (Ryan Leblanc), Chantel (Wayne Lindstrom), great-granddaughters Avrey King and Jennifer Ouellette Lindstrom, sisters; Margaret Johnson, Isabell Duguid, brother; Calvin Nelson, Dennis and Laurie Thideman as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Raymond in 1985, brothers, Ernie and Arthur and sister Helen.
Scott, Rober (Bob) Ernest Friday, 18 Jul 2008

Robert (Bob) Ernest Scott passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008 in Prince George, B.C. with his family at his side.
Bob was born on March 14, 1940 in New Westminster, B.C. to Bob and Elsie Scott.
One of Bob’s life passions was landscaping. Bob pioneered landscaping in Quesnel in the early 1960’s. He convinced the town to plant flowers along the entrance (Front Street) and today Quesnel is noted for this display.
Bob met and married Ida Corless in the early 1960’s and together they had two sons, Joel and Vince.
In the early 1970’s, Bob moved to Mackenzie and later met and married Sharon Lindsay and together they had two daughters, Stacey and Sara-Belle.
In the 1980’s Bob relocated to Prince George and launched a successful landscaping business (Scott Family Gardeners).
In 1991 Bob succumbed to years of substance abuse and sought treatment. After his recovery Bob became an icon in the delivery of drug and alcohol treatment services. This became Bob’s second life passion.
In 1996 he developed D.A.R.T. (Drug Awareness Recovery Team) a non-profit society designed to fill the gap in the government’s delivery of alcohol and drug services.
Bob received numerous awards and was nominated in 2006 for Prince George Citizen of the Year.
Over everything else, Bob considered his children his greatest gift of all.
Bob was pre-deceased by his father and has left behind his mother, sister Janice, brothers Doug (Annette) and Kelly. Sons Joel and Vince (Sue), daughters Stacey (Sean) and Sara-Belle (Jamie) and grandsons Justis and Jared, along with numerous other family members and every addict who deserves a second chance.
Memorial services for Bob will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Gateway Christian Ministries, 2055, 20th Avenue, Prince George, B.C. with a tea to follow at D.A.R.T., 1122 7th Avenue, Prince George, B.C.
