Born August 23, 1932 in Porto Formoso, Sao Miguel (Azores) Portugal.
passed away peacefully on Nov. 15th, 2007 in Vancouver, B.C. at the age of 75 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ernesto F. Moniz and lovingly remembered by her three sons and two daughters, daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws; Anthony (Liz), Ernest (Una), Carlos (Gabriella), Laura (Joe) and Grace (Mike) her Grandchildren; Elizabeth, David, Eva, Ian, Justin, Ezra, Nicholas, Anna, Anthony, Gavin, Julia, Carolynn, Jacqueline and Derek, siblings, cousins and her close friends that made up Laura‘s large extended family.
Laura will be remembered for her love of education and learning.
She constantly challenged her children to realize their dreams, a legacy that will not be forgotten.
Laura’s boundless energy, compassion and caring was a gift she shared with her many children and adults that she looked after in a lifetime of dedicated care-giving.
The greatest gift Laura left was her never-ending love for her sons and daughters and her belief that they could be anything they wanted to be.
We love you Mom and will miss you!
The Moniz family wishes to thank the caring / dedicated nursing staff of the 3 Links Care centre (Rebekah place), VGH Palliative care ward, who took care of our Mom in her time of need.
Prayers will be said 7:30 pm Thursday, November 22nd 2007. at Our Lady of Fatima Parish 1423 E. 13th Ave. Vancouver, B.C. where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Friday November 23rd. Rev. Antonio Deangelis is the celebrant. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park.

FEARNLEY, Carol Irene passed away on November 14th, 2007. She leaves behind her husband Richard of 45 years; son Rick and daughter Brenda, as well as four granddaughters Zanna, Alena, Christine and Kelsey. Also two brothers Ken and Dave and sister Lesly-May.
Carol Fearnley was the pillar of the family and she will be missed. Her memory will live on with us and be loved.
Memorial Service Sunday, November 25th at 1:00 pm at St. Andrew's United Church, 22165 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Survived by his devoted wife Barbara; 3 children, Kathy (Markku); Karren (Stephen); Robb (Rechelle); 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; mother Sylvi; sister Kirsti (Jim); brother Henry (Angie). Memorial service Saturday November 17th at 2pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 12145 Laity Street, Maple Ridge. Pastor Bob Goos officiating. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Paul's Memorial Fund would be appreciated.

BAMSEY, Sandy passed away suddenly on November 13, 2007. Sandy was born August 8 1955 in New Westminster. He will always remain in the heart of his family Brian (Tandra), Clare (Jim) Johnson, Ray, Tom (Lori), Stephanie, Duncan (Raene), Genevra, Ryan (Sarah), Carly Johnson, Leah, (Shawn) Durand, John, William, Heather, Ava, Hallie and Uncle Jack Anderson. He will be missed by countless friends who meant more to him than they know. Sandy was pre-deceased by parents Wilf and Wilma Bamsey. A Memorial Service will be held on Sat. November 24, 2007 at 2pm in the Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel (Osborn's) 11969 - 216th Street. No flowers by request.

Survived by his brother David (Gwen) Johnstone, nephew Derrick (Jennifer) Johnstone and niece Karly Johnstone and by a half brother Robert Johnstone in Australia. A memorial service for Michael will be held at the Masonic Hall, 22272 - 116 Ave., Maple Ridge on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 1 p.m.

Chris was taken from us suddenly by a car accident on March 3, 2008, at the age of 25. Chris lived life to its fullest every day. His passions for food, cars and music began as a toddler dancing to Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock n’ Roll” and developed into an eclectic taste in music, playing his beloved bass, and a string of car projects. Chris pursued a successful culinary career, cooking in London, Ottawa, and greater Vancouver. Chris loved his friends and family. Chris was born in London, Ontario, attended St. Peter’s Secondary School in Barrie, Fanshawe College and Douglas College.
Chris is desperately missed by his loving mother Nikki (Coquitlam), father Larry (Mission), grandmother Eileen Vincent (London, Ont), many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends including best friends Jesse, Jason and Rob. He is pre-deceased by his sister Angie, grandfather Cyril Vincent (his hero), and grandparents Norma and Eddy Shannon. A Celebration of Chris’s Life will be held on Saturday March 8 at 11 am at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel, Maple Ridge B.C. In lieu of flowers donations to establish a scholarship for studying bass guitar may be made to Vancouver Community College Foundation (www.music.vcc.ca) in honor of Chris Shannon.

Born in Erikson, Manitoba on July 7th, 1940. passed away peacefully at McKenney Creek Hospice on February 27th, 2008 with his wife of 45 years, Margaret by his side. Nelson graduated in 1961 from the school of nursing, Essondale, B.C. He worked as a paramedic for Metropolitan Ambulance and Skeenaview Lodge in Terrace as a supervisor and Braimare Lodge in Burnaby for a total of 30 years of nursing. Nelson will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Gordon, Maple Ridge; Keith, Winnipeg, Manitoba; niece Charlotte and her son Eric, Ottawa, Ontario, cousins Bob (Shelley) Sjogren (Megan and Courteney); Kathy Hansen (Debra), and close friends, the Robinson family, and many other friends. Private Family Graveside Service. In Nelson’s memory, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or McKenney Creek Hospice would be appreciated.

Gladys was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Klaas and Eugenie Blom. She lived on the farm outside of Gibbons with her two brothers, Cornelius and Bernard, until moving with her parents to their new home in Gibbons. Soon after her father passed away, she moved to a Seniors home in Redwater with her mother where she remained until 1989 at which time she came to live with her brother Corney and sister-in-law Yvonne. Gladys was residing at Willow Manor enjoying the outings, games and friendly faces there at the time of her death. Gladys was pre-deceased by her parents Klaas and Eugenie, brothers Corney and Bernard. Lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Yvonne, numerous nieces, nephews and friends in Alberta and B.C., also friends at Connections, Options and Horizons.
Service of memory to be held at the Eagle Hall 23461 Fern Crescent on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 1 pm.
Donations to RMAC or Childrens Charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Interment in Evergreen Memorial Garden, Edmonton, Alberta.

Lloyd passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Finnbogi and Gudrun. (Gudrun passed 7 years to the day). He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice; children: Glenn (Donna), Warren (Margaret), Allan (Eva), Robyn (Bob), grandchildren, great grandchildren; Brothers: Wally (Linda), and Clifford, numerous family members and friends. Lloyd worked at MacMillan and Bloedel for over 35 years. He was born in Arborg, Manitoba and moved to Vancouver in 1963. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday March 6th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.

Also nieces and nephews Ron, Joanne, Chris, Angelene, Laurie, Clayton, Shannon, Dawn, Chris, Patti-Anne, Lisa, John, Deborah, Sandra, Shirley, Leo, Edward, Agnes, Bertha, Angeline, April, Nadine, Chad, Tammy, Christi, Charles, Samuel, Donald, Natalie, Christian and many grand nephews and nieces.
Prayers will be said on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 5:30 P.M. at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 20285 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 8 at 10:30 A.M. also in the church.
