Anne Carefoot passed away at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke on Saturday, July 12th, 2008 at the age of 89 years. A Memorial funeral service was held from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Revelstoke on Thursday afternoon, July 17th with Reverend Canon Ray Bray officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Spence, Garry, Darren & Brent Carefoot. Cremation with inurnment in Mt. Begbie Columbarium, Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Queen Victoria Hospital Foundation, P.O. Bag 5000, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Anne.
Anne was born in Mountain Road, Manitoba on February 25, 1919 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1949. She was a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Anglican Church Women and Hospital Auxiliary, where she helped work in the Thrift Store. In her younger years, Anne was a hairdresser, a ticket seller at the arena, a house cleaner, a clerk at Cerolini’s store and before she moved to Revelstoke, she worked at the Military Canteen in Manitoba. She started selling shoes in Faffy Romeo’s shoe store and then moved to the Co-op where she worked for many years. She became a qualified shoe salesperson, knowing how shoes were constructed and became the shoe buyer for the Co-op. Anne could look at a person’s feet and tell them exactly what size and type of shoe they should wear and inevitably what she chose was perfect for the person. Anne also enjoyed cooking, was a wonderful baker and made great “Carefoot” chow mein.
Anne was pre-deceased by an infant daughter Carol in 1943 and five brothers: Peter, John, Michael, Alex and Victor. She is survived by four children: Spencer (Marilyn) Carefoot of Revelstoke, Karon (Bruno) D’Andrea of Vernon, Garry (Love) Carefoot of Kelowna and Sherry-Lyn (Laverne) Lindberg of Leduc, Alberta; six grandchildren: Catherine Carefoot of Revelstoke, Sherron D’Andrea and Heather D’Andrea of Vernon, Darren (Lana) Carefoot and Brent (Chandra) Carefoot of Calgary and Gina Lindberg of Leduc; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.

Our precious Doris Yvonne Peterson passed away peacefully at Vancouver General Hospital on July 8, 2008 at the age of 53. Doris is survived by her mother Annette MacPherson, mother in-law Betty Heck, sister Donna Liscum, brother Jim MacPherson, daughters Crystal (Brian Manuel) Levesque, Nadine (Neil Brooks) Levesque and step children Greg (Sheila) Cave, Sherrie (Jim) Ehman, Wes (Tammy) Peterson, Brad Peterson and the joys of her life, her grandchildren Tristin and Kayla Korol, Dominic Manuel, Tyler and Jayla Cave, Meghan and Amanda Ehman, Josh and Jessie Raymond, Samantha, Brooke, Sky and Brenna Malo as well as all of her aunts, uncles and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her husband Keith Peterson and father Donald Norman MacPherson.
The Celebration of Life for Doris Yvonne Peterson was held on July 19, 2008 at the Little Shuswap Indian Band Community Hall, 1886 Little Shuswap Lake Rd. in Chase, B.C. (Just before the Quaaout Lodge).

Don passed away in his 91st year on August 16, 2008 in Abbotsford, B.C.
Clarkie will be missed by his wife Ethel, son Graham (Dale), daughter Wendy and grandson Ryan; 6 step children, 18 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Clarkie grew up in Victoria and was a long time resident of Powell River before moving to the Fraser Valley.
The family would like to thank the staff at Menno Hospital for their kind and compassionate care they gave Clarkie.
There will be no service at his request, but you are invited to a reception on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Regency Park, 3170 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford.

After a lengthy illness, Helen died at the Christine Morrison Hospice. She is survived by two brothers; Harry and Aubrey, two sisters; Luetta and Leonora and many friends and relatives. She will be sadly missed by all. Her life revolved around her whole souled service to Jehovah. A Memorial Service will be held August 23rd, at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall, 1672 Salton Road, Abbotsford.

Gone to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 17th after a brief but very courageous battle with lung cancer. Hans will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends. As a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, he was always thankful for God's blessings and provisions in his life. He is survived by his precious wife Ann Maas. daughter, Diana (Joe) Milankovies; son, Bob (Anne) Maas; daughter, Lynda (Seig) Fast; grandchildren, Jeff, Leanne, Jordan, Melissa, Michael, Nathan, Bradley, Selina and Nicholas; sister, Gre (Jan) Borra; brother, Bert (Corrie) Mass; brother, Arie Maas; sister-in-law, Jeanette (Hugo) Spancers; brothers-in-law, Adrian (Cathy) Enzlin, numerous nieces, nephews and many very good friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Dina and Jacob Maas. A celebration of his life will be held at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church, 34631 Old Clayburn Road, Abbotsford on Friday, august 22, 2008 at 3 p.m. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff of the Langley Hospice and the Palliative Care program of B.C. Hilda passed away peacefully in the presence of her Lord on August 14, 2008 at the age of 90 years.
She was pre-deceased by her husband of 67 years, Bill on January 6, 2005; brothers, Bill and Jack Penner; sisters, Margaret Toews-Groening and Dorothy Dyck. She is survived by her loving family, 12 children, Rose Janzen, Roberta (Rudy) Loewen, Lorna (Bev) Clark, Clifford Toews, Hylda Gryba, Bill (Darlene) Toews, Jim (Sandra) Toews, Caroline (Bob) Seeley, Sharon Taevs, Bob (Joy) Toews, Jennifer (Wayne) Gryba and Lynda Toews (Brent Searle); 34 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herb Penner and Ed (Connie) Penner and extended family.
Viewing hours will be from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 29 at 9:30 am in Maclure Road Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am in Clearbrook MB Church, 2719 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. Bob Sherwin answered the call of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ early Thursday morning. He has been dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 51 years, Isabelle; his children, Lorraine (John) Sproule, Stephen, Paul, Karen and Ruth; grandchildren, Dan (Lauri) Sproule, Amy (Mark) Baker, Sarah (Brian) Dixen and five great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his parents, John Wallis and Julia Sherwin; four brothers, Doug (Jean), George (Edith), Richard (Edith), Ken (Isla); three sisters, Winnifred, Margaret (Bob) Erickson and Joan (Bill) Brownlee.
Bob was born in 1922 in Edmonton, Alberta. He grew up in a large family during the depression years. As a young adult, he moved to California and lived with his sister and her family. He worked for his brother-in-law, Robert Erickson and learned the sign painting trade. Bob enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed in England during World War II.
On June 8, 1957, Bob married Isabelle (Grue) and moved to Redding, California, where they lived for 17 years. Their children were all born in Redding. In 1974, he moved with his family to Sherwood Park, Alberta. They spent 17 years in Alberta where Bob continued his outdoor advertising business. He retired in 1990 and after some traveling, Bob and Isabelle moved to Abbotsford.
Bob's interests included traveling, reading, sign and landscape painting, cooking, playing various musical instruments and spending time with his family. He proclaimed his faith in Jesus Christ boldly and consistently. Bob's family is extremely grateful for the compassionate care Bob received from the entire staff at Worthington Pavilion for the past 3 and a half years. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, August 22, 2008 at Heritage Alliance Church, 3440 Mt. Lehman Road, Abbotsford, B.C. Viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Food for the Hungry or a charity of your choice.

David Kaiser was received into the loving arms of Jesus on August 14, 2008, in Sicamous, B.C. He leaves behind his loving wife, Priscilla; his children Miranda Funk (Brian), Robin Ediger (Troy), Kevin (Sherri-Lynn); grandchildren Brooklyn, Courtenay, Shaylynn and Carson Funk, Karyssa and Daniel Ediger, Brittny, Victoria and Amy Kaiser; brothers John (Alma), Alex (Claire), Sam (Marilyn), Leo (Diana); sisters Sophie Hein, Betty Gerhardt (Elmer), Eileen Sipe (Lawrence); in laws Ruth Reinheller (Ray), Grace Pudney (Rob); and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. David was pre-deceased by his parents; his wife's parents Bill & Marie Semeniuk; brother Henry; in-laws Dan Hein, Mary Ann Kaiser and Stephanie Kaiser; niece Arlene Hein and nephew Doug Kaiser. David was born in Vulcan, Alberta to Alexander and Mollie Kaiser on April 3, 1944 and was raised on their farm with his eight brothers and sisters until moving to Calgary. He met Priscilla on a blind date and married her in 1964. They had three children and in 1971 moved to Abbotsford, B.C. David worked as a mechanic and later operated his own garage, Dave's Service. He went on to drive truck for Rempel Brothers Concrete for a number of years. His interests included mechanics, camping with his family and fishing. Given the challenge, he could make or fix anything. David and Priscilla moved to beautiful Sicamous, B.C., in 2006 where he lived out the remainder of his days close to family. Though his health suffered greatly for many years of his life, David will be remembered for his sense of humour, his amazing handy-man skills, and his willingness to help out anybody in need.
You are deeply missed and will forever by in our hearts. We love you.

On August 13th 2008, Cherish was swept suddenly into the presence of her best friend, Jesus. While her departure was sudden, Andrea has run the race with boldness and joy, and is now praising God passionately as she did while here on earth. Andrea leaves behind a family who look forward to seeing her again, including her parents Bentley and Stella Steegstra, and her sisters (her favourite people in the whole world) Rachelle Serene and Casandra Harmony. Other family members include her Opa and Nanny (Louis & Mary Steegstra), Grandpa and Grandma (George and Martha Banman), and a multitude of uncles, aunties, cousins and friends. Our sorrow is palpable. We will cherish her memory.
A viewing will occur at Henderson's Funeral Home from 7 - 9:00 p.m., Thursday, August 21st 2008. A Memorial Service honouring Andrea's journey with us and her continued life with Jesus, will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22nd 2008 at the Chilliwack Alliance Church, 8700 Young Road.

In loving memory we announce the passing of Magda Ofenboeck (61 yr), mother, wife and omi, into the arms of her Lord and Savior. After six years of battling cancer she can finally rest. She leaves behind her husband Wolfgang of 39 years, five children, Wolfgang Jr, Janos and wife Judi, Nikolai, Mikhail and wife Angie, and Shoshanna, and five grandchildren, Awna, Kaleb, Erin, Luke and Wolfgang Jr. Born in South Africa, she immigrated to Edmonton in 1975, where she lived for eighteen years before moving to Mission, and finally coming to rest in Abbotsford. Through her strength we can all be inspired.
A celebration of her life will take place at Lighthouse Ministries, 28742 Fraser Hwy. on Sat. August 23rd at 2:00pm.
