Ed passed away peacefully at 12:50 p.m. at the Nicola Valley Health Care Unit in Merritt, on Monday, November 19, 2007 with his devoted family at his side. His birthday was August 6, 1925, the middle child of ten born to May and Sam Nutbrown of Maymont, Saskatchewan. Ed was the last surviving member of those children. He was pre-deceased by his second wife Kris a year ago. He leaves to mourn his passing his sons Larry (Jacquie), Stewart (Rebecca); grandchildren Ray Nutbrown, Dawn (Aaron) Clarke, Timothy, Frances and Emmaleigh Nutbrown, great grandchildren David and Alexia Clarke, Many beloved nieces and nephews and long time friend Shirley Nutbrown. Ed's career was in automotive parts and he devoted almost his whole working life to that business. He came from a very musical family and his Mom, Dad and a number of sisters and brothers played many, many barn dances in the Maymont and Marshall areas of Saskatchewan. Ed loved to dance and won many "jitterbug"¯ contests at Uncle Toms Cabin in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Over the last twenty five years, Ed devoted much of his free time to Alcoholics Anonymous and was very proud of his own many years of sobriety. In his last year with us, while living at Coquihalla Gillis House, he had good quality of life and in particular enjoyed being the side walk superintendent (Along with his pal Ron) for the new addition to this facility, going out to family dinners, receiving visits from his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren, going on his own to buy cashew nuts, to the pharmacy and WATCHING HOCKEY.
In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Coquihalla Gillis House.
Service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Church.

New Westminster BC - Mohinder Singh Sidhu died November 16th, 2007 after a short but difficult battle with Cancer.
Born Sept 1st 1952, in Bathinda Punjab, India, he came to Canada in 1970 to seek a better life for his new born family. He located himself in a small town called Merritt, BC and with determination he was able to fulfill all the dreams of the people who were truly dear to him. He worked as a fire fighter who at many times would risk his own life to save the life of others. A true family man, Mohinder was a constant presence in the community and was always glad to lend a helping hand. He valued all the people around him and was known for his sense of humour and his devotion to family and friends. With heavy hearts we say goodbye to a wonderful husband, father & friend. He will be forever remembered as a hero and fighter till the end.
Surviving are his wife Baljit, his sons Purdeep and Sundeep, his daughters Mandeep and Rabinder, son in laws Rajdeep Sandhu and Jaspal Sandhu, granddaughters, Mayhla, Raya and Genika. A special thanks to all family and friends for your tremendous support during this difficult time.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday 24th at Riverside Funeral Home 7410-Hopcott Road, Delta B.C. CANADA

Born on the family homestead, near Wawota, Sask., Laurene passed away at Langley Lodge, at 88 years of age, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband George Henry, her parents Frank & Margaret Turton, and her sister Lara Bertha Wright. Survived by her daughters Beverly (Dan), Marlene (Bill); grandchildren Darren, Leanne (Andy), Brent (Melynda) and Bradley (Regan); 6 great-grandchildren Wesley, Carly, Casandra, Sarah, Grace, Evan and another expected later this year. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

It is with Saddened heart that we announce the sudden passing of our Brother Sheldon William, Ronald, Michael, McFadden in Merritt B.C.
Sheldon is survived by his son Landon, of B.C. his Father Ron (100 mile House) his Siblings – Shannon (Paul) Hansen Sarnia Ont, Magi (Don) Buchanan Falkland, B.C., Sherri-Lynne (Terry) Harrow, Ont., John (Marie) and Vince 100 mile House, B.C.
Sheldon had many nieces and nephews: Marc (Ont) and Brian Hansen (B.C) Edward (Kari) Faust in Edmonton, Karla, Ronald, Chantal, Evan and Jake in B.C.
Sheldon was pre-deceased by his brother Denis Williams Sept 2004, his nephew Scott Hansen in 1997, Mother Helen McFadden January 17, 2008
Sheldon suffered a Brain Injury in a motor vehicle accident caused by an impaired driver; even through his pain he has tried to help others.
Sheldon was nominated for the Courage to come back award in 2003.
Donations can be made to the Brain Injury Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

There will be a celebration of Sheldon’s life at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Desert Gardens Community Hall at 540 Seymour St, Kamloops.

Our family announces with great sadness the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather Fred Voght.
Fred lived in Merritt all his life, where he met May Moses and they’ve been together for over 68 years. Fred enjoyed ranching, riding, fishing and hunting, playing guitar and violin. He was known for his story telling. He had five boys and three girls and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. McLeod and all the nurses and staff who took care of Fred during his stay in the Hospital.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend on Jan. 27, 2008, with her family by her side.
Eileen was lovingly surrounded by her family and friends since entering the Hospital/ Hospice in Kelowna on Oct. 18, 2008, but she grew very tired after putting up a valiant 2 1/2 year fight to overcome cancer. Mom tried so hard to keep a smile on her beautiful face and never complained.
She fought this terrible disease with grace and dignity and also made time for those close to her to say their good-byes. She is survived by her loving husband Peter and her beloved children: Randy Lorenz (Marion) of Saskatoon and Pamela (Stuart) Allen of Kamloops. Eileen also leaves to cherish her memory 5 grandson: Joshua and Jesse Lorenz, Evan, Jordon (Carmeen) and Brenden Angel and 2 granddaughters: Robyn and Jocelyn Allen. She is also survived by her dear mother Tania Gulkiewich of Kelowna and her brothers Ernie (Jeanine) Gulkiewich of Westbank, George (Joanne) Gulkiewich of Delta, brother in-law George McVey of Vancouver, her best friend Marnie Gawhens of Kamloops as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eileen was pre-deceased by her stepdaughter Debbie McVey in 2006 her father Anthony Gulkiewich in 1993 and her first husband Randy Lorenz Sr. in 1977. A memorial to celebrate Eileen’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at the Merritt Golf and Country Club, 1450 Juniper Dr., Merritt, B.C. A special thank-you to all the doctors and nurses in Merritt, Kamloops and Kelowna and especially those of the “Douglas Fir Hospice House”, for their compassion and understanding. It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Roy LeBlanc.
Dad was pre-deceased by Rebecca (mother), Alex (father), Wilbert, and Len (brothers). Dad leaves to mourn his daughters Shelley (Pat) Merritt, Sherry (Jimmy) Sydney Nova Scotia, Wanda (Tom) Fort St. John, his grandchildren Chris, Holly, Kelli-Ann, Kayla, Ryan, Brett, Scott and his great granddaughter Brooke, sisters Doreen O’Toole (Ernie) Halifax NS, Marie Burns Toronto, brother Bernie LeBlanc (Dena) Sydney NS, plus many nieces and nephews. Dad was a true Cape Bretoner who decided to call Merritt home for a few years always knowing that some day he would return to his roots. Dad truly enjoyed his many fishing adventures with his friends and the laughs that were had. Dad opened his door to whoever was in need no matter the reason. He will be sadly missed by his Merritt friends Shelia, Wendy, Ross, Russell, Devvy and John.
We wish you well on your new journey.
