THOMAS, Dorothy Annette
June 13, 1918 – October 6, 2007
Surrounded by loving family, Dorothy passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband Reverend E. Leslie, and her sisters Anne and Catherine. She is survived by her daughter Myfanwy, (Stephen), her son John (Christine) and her daughter Eiddwen (Bruce). Also survived by her much loved grandchildren Moriah (Darrell), Daniel, Adam (Jen), Jonathan, Courtney and Meghan, and great-grandchildren Noah and Caleb. Born and raised in Watford, Ontario, Dorothy graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, London, Ontario. She entered into a profession she enjoyed for many years. This included working in a remote clinic in James Bay, maternity nursing in Wallaceburg and Sarnia Ontario and working as both a clinical and private RN in Maryland. She also graduated from Toronto Bible College where she met her beloved husband, Leslie. Together they served the Lord in ministry throughout Canada and the United States. Her tender generous ways were appreciated by many people. She is fondly remembered for her sincere faith and gentle, gracious spirit. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. We are comforted in knowing that she is now with the Lord and her beloved husband.
A memorial service will be held at St Stephen’s Church, Saanichton on October 20th at 1:00 pm followed by interment and a tea in the church hall. Mr. Louis Alfred (Cy) Laundry
August 26, 1927 - October 10, 2007
passed away at the Cowichan District Hospital on Wednesday October 10, 2007. Born on August 26, 1927 at Ganges, Salt Spring Island. Predeceased by his son Bob (2006), sister Irene (2003) and brother-in-law Phil Decosta (2006). Lovingly remembered by his family; wife Betty; children, Fred, Susan (Larry) Smith, Wendi (Mike) Lowery, Glen (Trish), and Pearl Griffith; grandchildren, Wesley, Carrie, Cory, Ashley, Lisa (Aaron), Nikki, Branden, Amanda and Easton; great-granddaughter Destiny Arianna; sister Jean and brother George (Florence); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial tea will be held at 4274 Grange Road (off of Carey), Saanich, B.C. on Saturday, October 20, 2007 between 1- 4 PM.
Mr. Robert (Rub) Erskine
January 2, 1924 - October 14, 2007
passed away peacefully at the Cowichan District Hospital on Sunday October 14, 2007. Born in Victoria on January 2, 1924. Lovingly remembered by his family; wife of 56 years Norah-Belle; daughters M. Jean Lloyd (Phyl), Janet Seysener (Dave), and Judy Haggett (John); son Robert J. Erskine; grandchildren Arlys Stratholt, Rebecca Danby, Jason Seysener, Sherry Seysener, Heather Edgar, Craig Cunnah, Dustyn Erskine, Sara Erskine, Julie Beedle, and Ryan Beedle; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A private graveside service will be held at Hatley Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined, if so desired memorial remembrances may be made to the charity of ones' choice.
Mr. Robert Powell Kamensek
February 26, 1953 - July 19, 2007
Rob Kamensek passed away quietly on Thursday, July 19, 2007 after a bout with cancer. He is survived by his wife Elsie and two daughters, Melissa and Michelle, brothers: George (Laurelyn), Chris (Laura), Tony, Len (Jill), sister Diana (Kevin) and parents (Christine and Anton).
Rob spent his career at RBC Dominion Securities and was active in the Delta Community. He was an avid golfer and could be found most Wednesday afternoons at Beach Grove enjoying his favourite past time.
Thank you for all the support from the B.C. Cancer Clinic, Delta Hospital, Home Support Staff and many friends.
There will be a gathering of family and friends in celebration of Rob's life from 2:00 - 5:00 pm on Wednesday, 25 July, 2007 at Beach Grove Golf Club, 5946 - 12 Avenue, Tsawwassen, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delta Foundation or B.C. Cancer Foundation.
Mrs. Gailia Lynn Bruvold

Gailia Lynn Bruvold passed away peacefully July 20, 2007 with her husband Alan of 31yrs by her side. Cancer conquered our dear Lynn’s body, but not her wonderful spirit.
Lynn was predeceased by her parents Mary and Enok Berg. She leaves behind her husband Alan; children, Jordan (Ramona), Craig (Mabel), Jamie (Tammy), Michelle (Peter) and an abundance of grandchildren; sisters Eleanor (Jeff), Janette (Larry), and brother Leonard (Paulette). Words cannot express our love for Lynn and how much we will miss her. We thank God for having known her. James Kent was born January 21, 1925 in Edmonton AB. On July 20, 2007 Jim passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior. Predeceased by his son Sydney Bruce in 1964. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary; his children Linda, Norman (Lynette) and grandchildren, James Daniel, Owen, Emily and Marnina, also his sisters Wilma Stagg, Jessie Bumstead, Marge Salsbury and Aunt Phyllis. Raised on a farm in the Edson area he moved to the Island in late 40’s, met mom and after they married, lived in Chemainus. Dad drove for 33 years at MacMillan Blodel, Chemainus Sawmill Division. When the mill closed he continued his career at Paulcan Chemainus until retirement in 1989. Dad’s sense of humor served him well all his life and in his many years as a volunteer at Camp Imadene. After his retirement he had more time to spend in his garden, travel with mom and tinker in his shop. Suffering a debilitating stroke 3 years ago, dad faced his recovery with courage and determination, an example to us all. With grateful thanks to Dr. Manhas, Bonnie at Crofton Physio, the staff of Chemanius Healthcare Center and Cowichan Lodge. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 10:00 am at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, 2347 Cedar Road, Cedar, B.C. with a Memorial Service following at 1:30 p.m. at the Brae Road Gospel Chapel, 321 Brae Road, Duncan, B.C.

TREGASKES, Vera - Vera passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2007, age 88 years, in Tsawwassen, British Columbia.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Katie, son-in-law Roger Smith, and her three grandchildren, Neil, Sara and Angela.
Born in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, she was one of nine children. She is survived by her youngest brother, Steve Shishko. Predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Norman Ernest Tregaskes. Remembered and loved by her nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A Memorial Service for close family to be held at a later date in Ontario.

Charlebois, Vicki passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Crohn's Disease at the age of 31. Loving mother to Hailey Goodrick. Companion of Kevin Goodrick. Precious daughter to Charles and Marie Charlebois. Loving sister and best friend to David (Marla) and Kevin (Mary). Auntie to Kelly, Ian, Gaetan, Mercedes, Jade and River. Grand daughter of Edna Blondin and the late Marshall Blondin, Maurille and Eva Charlebois. Vicki will be sadly missed by her may friends and relatives. Visitation will be held at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home on Thursday July 26th, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Perkinsfield on Friday July 27th at 11 a.m. If desired, donations to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation would be appreciated.
