It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that Don has passed away after 10 years battle with Cancer.
Predeceased by brothers: Herbert and David and sister Hughena.
Survived by his wife of 39 years, Gretha; daughters Lisa (Ed) and Donna (Danny); 6 grandchildren; 1 brother and 5 sisters and other relatives and many friends.
Many thank to all, especially Dr. Stanwood, Liz Cochrane and the staff and volunteers of Hospice.
Funeral Service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 317 Goldstream Avenue, Victoria, B.C. on Saturday August 11, 2007 at 12 pm.
Captain Glen Fraser to officiate. Interment to follow at Hatley Memorial Gardens.

May 9, 1931 - August 12, 2007
MICHELSEN, Claire (Nee Pottinger) passed away suddenly at home, August 12, 2007, a native daughter of Victoria and the pioneering Humber and Baker families.
Predeceased by parents Henry and Clara Pottinger, brothers Russell, David and Roderick, sisters Bernice and Velma.
Survived by her husband Earland, and by daughters Colleen (Walter) Mackney, Yvonne (Kevin) Hourigan, grandchildren Lawrence, Will, Fame, Dean, Mavourneen, Phelan, Brenna, Rohana and Riordan, sister June Barker, brother Edmund and sister-in-law Philippa plus many nieces and nephews.
No service at Mom's request, private Cremation.

Mrs. Elaine Marshall

Marshall, Elaine - It is with great sadness we announce the death of our mother Verna Elaine Marshall, born in Bredenbury, Saskatchewan on December 4, 1934 and died August 21, 2007 in Victoria, B.C.
Predeceased by son Raymond and parents Jesse and Walter Williams.
Elaine leaves her beloved husband of 54 years, Ken, sons Jim (Gerri) of Winnipeg, Doug (Bonnie) of Victoria, daughter Barbara (Randy) of Victoria, sister Audrey (Martin) Stelnicki of High River, Alberta.
She was Nana of 12 and Great Nana of 15 and Aunty to many nieces and nephews.
Elaine was very active in her community with volunteering to many different organizations including the JDF Seniors, Legion 91, Metchosin Ladies Golf.
It was her passion for golf and the time she spent with her family that made her the happiest.
Many thanks to her nurses at Victoria Hospice.

McLAREN, Betty passed away in Victoria on August 18, 2007.
Survived by her son Jack (Sylvia) of Toronto, granddaughter Shannon (Phil) of Ottawa, brothers Ian of Victoria and Bruce of St. Catharines, Ontario, sister Esther of Calgary as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A long time resident of Victoria Betty worked for Capital Cleaners and One Hour Martinizing.

Mr. Seiji "Stan" Horiguchi
January 2, 1940 - August 21, 2007
Mr. Seiji "Stan" Horiguchi passed away peacefully at Roseview Manor on August 21, 2007.
Born on January 2, 1940 in Prince Rupert, B.C., later moving to Thunder Bay, ON where he was raised as a child into his adult years.
In 1973 he met and married the love of his life Gail Kingsborough.
Stan and Gail then moved to North Vancouver, B.C. where he found employment at the Grain Elevators.
In 1991 he moved to Thunder Bay, ON and found employment at Lacey's Taxi.
Stan was a devoted husband and loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He enjoyed bowling, camping, singing karaoke and playing the guitar.
Stan was best known for his outgoing personality and making up nick names for all his friends and family.
He was famous for singing Elvis songs and for his "Japanese" shuffle.
He will be remembered for his strength, love and support for his family.
He is survived by his three daughters, Tanja Horiguchi, Shannon Gibbon and Kimberly Horiguchi, his brother and sister-in-law Dave and Tammy Horiguchi and his grandchildren Kaitlyn and Emily.
He is predeceased by his wife Gail Horiguchi, mother Mitsue Horiguchi and father Gisaburo Horiguchi.
The memorial service will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Friday August 24, 2007. If friends so desire, donations in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
Mr. Timothy David Pool
January 20, 1948 - August 18, 2007
Timothy (Tim) David Poole of Nanaimo, B.C., loving husband and best friend of Daphne, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2007 in Victoria General Hospital, with his family by his side, of a sudden brain aneurysm at the age of 59.
Tim leaves to cherish his memory his wife Daphne, his parents Ken and Sylvia Pool, of Nanaimo, B.C., his two brothers Gary (Joyce) Pool of Nanaimo, B.C., and Brian (Rosie) Pool of Okotoks, AB. Tim will be fondly remembered by all his and Daphne’s families and friends.
Tim was born in Turner Valley, AB on January 20, 1948, but has resided in Nanaimo for several years. Tim and his Dad, Ken, co-owned and operated the family business Sun-Ray Pellet Fuels where they went the extra mile for their customers. Nothing was to much to ask of Tim in both his business and personal life.
Tim will always be remembered for his zest for life, his great sense of humor and the twinkle in his blue eyes.
Tim and Daphne’s passions were working together in their new home and yard and rescuing numerous feral cats, having them spayed or neutered and providing food, care and homes for some. Their six feline friends will surely miss him.
