Ms. Margaret Mary Isabelle Barr Pascual
September 7, 1950 - September 2, 2007
Our Beloved Peggy passed away on Sunday and now joins her grandmother and name sake Margaret Mary (Peggy) Ashmore, grandfather W.E. (Ted) Ashmore and brother Sheldon with our Creator, God, The Father. Though Peggy's passage may have been difficult due to diabetes, she soldiered her voyage with courage and love for others, family and friends. To the end she showed her true grit that marked her as a special person, caring for others' needs over her own. We who love her, remember the little angel dressed in white with veil and golden ringlets trailing over her shoulders that had been curled by her grandmother for Peggy's First Communion in June 1957 at St. Andrew's Cathedral. She is still our angel. Peggy attended Holy Angels Primary School, Scared Heart Elementary, Colquitz Junior High and graduated from Claremont Secondary. Her working career was primarily in Prince Rupert, 30 years with the City as Comptroller- Payroll, then Manager of the only Legion, member of the Assumption Catholic School parent advisory and eventually President, Secretary-Treasurer CUPE Local- City workers, and Legion Fund Raising volunteer. She spear-headed the fund raising to build a playground for Assumption School and was a volunteer mom with the Prince Rupert Sea Cadet Squadron, (and proud to see her son Danny marching in the parade, pulling the gun-carriage). Indeed a busy life filled with love for her children and dedication to her community. Peggy leaves to mourn her children, sons Danny and Eric Pascual, daughter Tammy Smith; grandsons Theron, Austen and Ethan. Peggy's mother Kathleen McQuinlan, sister Colleen Brown (Rainer Hoffmann); brothers: Albert Browne, Anthony and Kevin Palmer, nephews Anson and Shawn; Aunts and Uncles Bonnie and George Johnson, Vernice and Ed Ashmore; cousins: Edwin Ashmore, Julianne Ashmore (Colin Sheffield), Kathleen Ashmore (Gene Antoine) and son Brenden, Tracy Johnson-Robertson (Richard), Tom Johnson (Petra) and daughter Noa and special friends: Lynne Maksymyszyn, Godfrey Hagen and Glen MacNeill and Josie. A Celebration of Peggy's life will be held in Prince Rupert, Mass for the repose of Peggy's soul will be held Saturday, September 15th, 5pm at St. Andrews Cathedral. Donations to Liver and diabetes Foundation Charity.
GOOD NIGHT MY SWEET CHILD, ".... AND MAY FLIGHTS OF ANGELS WING THEE TO THY REST"
Mrs. Donna Lorraine Muir Thompson
September 17, 1936 - August 30, 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Donna Lorraine Muir Thompson, on August 30th 2007. Donna was born the 4th of 7 children to Theodore and Ida McVeigh in Regina, Saskatchewan. Donna is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Gerald Edwin Thompson, her two daughters from her first marriage, Paula Chisholm (Gerry), and Leslie Gauvreau; stepdaughters Trudy Shannon (Gary) and Lynn Thompson; six grandchildren, Stanley and Kevin Hunter, Cole and Courtenay Chisholm, and Aaron and Evan Gauvreau; and great-grandchildren Kyuff, Jacob and Hailey. She is also survived by her siblings, Charles McVeigh, Loretta Flammond, Wayne McVeigh, Meredith Sutherland, Valerie Inwards and Georgia McVeigh. Donna will be fondly remembered as the personification of the term “Domestic Goddess,” a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She delighted in entertaining - her dinner parties were the stuff of legend, as was her talent in all things creative, whether it was sewing, ceramics, painting or decorating (the list goes on). She was a tremendously friendly and outgoing person. Her laugh and sense of humor will be profoundly missed by her family and legion of friends, both old and new. Donna and Jerry had a marriage which was a partnership in the truest sense, working together, enjoying life’s rewards together, and weathering the inevitable storms together. Memorial Service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC on Saturday, September 8th at 1:00 pm.
