Mr. Floyd Kenneth Swaren
August 13, 1936 - August 29, 2007

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by his parents Nels and Olga and his brother Willard.
Floyd will be lovingly missed by his wife Donna, children Brad, Kylie Dice (Chris), Shari Hargrave (Rich), grandchildren Jordan, Devon, Jenna, and Callum, brothers Howard (Leona), Ed (Jen), sisters Vera, Emily and Leona (Pat), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
“We love you and we will always miss you”
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 7:00 pm at Sands Funeral Chapel.
Memorial service will be held Thursday September 6, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, B.C.
For those so desiring, donations in lieu of flowers in memory of Floyd may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Unit E – 777 Poplar Street, Nanaimo, B.C., V9S 2H7, and the Freemason Cancer Car Program.

Mr. Giovanni Sturam
March 15, 1936 - September 3, 2007

Giovanni (John) Sturam was born March 15, 1936 in the Village of Tarcetta, Community of Pulfero, Udine, Italy. He died on September 3, 2007 in the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Luigi Sturam and Guistina Manzini, brother Giuseppe Sturam and sister Leonilda.
John is survived by his brother Luigi (Sharon), sisters Oliva Spelat (Vittorio), Paolina Sturam and sister-in-law Elide Sturam, nieces Elizabetta Schlamp (Terry), Maria Sturam, Evelina Sturam, nephews Robert Sturam, Vance Johnson and Nathan Johnson.
John fought a great and courageous battle with his diabetes, aneurysm of the aorta, and cancer. A special thank you to the nurses and volunteers, Dr. Love, and his family doctor, Dr. Oliver for the wonderful care and support they gave to John and family. A big thank you to Valentino Birtig for visiting John and always being there when John needed a friend.
John came to Canada in 1956. He gave of himself freely to help support the family through illness in Italy. His kindness to his parents, Aunt Carlutta, and sisters Leonilda and Paolina will never be forgotten. He worked in the Forest Industry up and down the coast and had to retire early from his job due to injuries that he received while working.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He had a final wish that these words be said:
DO NOT WEEP FOR ME, LET ME GO FOR I AM AT PEACE, I GO TO A BETTER PLACE.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 11:30 am at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, B.C.
Interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. James Gordon Jackson
June 8, 1944 - July 21, 2007

Jackson, James (Jim) passed away in Nanaimo on July 21, 2007.
He leaves behind his loving family with four grandsons.
Private family cremation.

Mrs. Dianne Lucille Coubrough
September 26, 1954 - August 5, 2007

Coubrough, Dianne - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Dianne.
Predeceased by her father Elmer Clayton Odland on July 12, 1996, son Kelly Wayne Odland October 9, 1974, and her grandparents Emma and Ole.
Dianne will be lovingly missed survived by her husband Gary, children Lainey (Roger) Lajeunesse, Dustin (Deborah) Allen, grandchildren Sarah and Jesse, brother Brent (Bridget) Odland, sisters Linda (Howard) Hammermeister and Pearl Odland, stepchildren Sherilyn, Shane and Dallas, as well as uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Dianne was a member of the Eagles club in Ladysmith.
A visitation will be held Friday August 10, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo. A memorial service will follow at 2:00. Interment to at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Edna Brown
February 18, 1913 - August 29, 2007

Brown, Edna passed away peacefully on August 29, 2007 at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with her daughter Barb and David by her side.
She was pre deceased by her husband Leonard Vincent.
Edna is survived by her two daughters: Genine Wilkinson of Victoria and Barb Dibblee, grandchildren Karen, Darlene, Teresa, Michael, Heather, and Robyn, great-grandchildren Jessica, Steven, Carson, Wesley, Clare, Natalie, and Sophie, Lucas and Caleb.
She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
A celebration of Edna’s life was held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 3:00 pm at Kiwanis Lodge, 1233 Kiwanis Crescent, Nanaimo, B.C.

Mr. Wilfred Lawrence Hogan
March 13, 1931 - September 11, 2007

Hogan, Wilfred passed away peacefully, on Tuesday September 11, 2007 at the Kingston General Hospital. Sadly missed by friends Susan Holder, Bill Bates, Pattie Salter, Jan McAllister, Bill Marshall and all of his friends at 381 Bagot Street. Special grandad of Dustyn, Jacob, Osten, Oliva, Emma, Braden and Liam.
Family and friends will gather for a reception at 381 Bagot Street (Common Room) on Thursday September 13, 2007 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Interment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Memorial donations to University Hosptials Kingston Foundation- Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.

Mr. Edward Jeffery Lydiatt
June 29, 1915 - August 2, 2007

Passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Sechelt due to complications following a fractured hip injury. He was active in the West Vancouver Yacht Club for several years and a Past Commodore. Memorial Service Saturday, September 15th, 1 PM at Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road, Richmond, B.C.
