Taylor, James Kenneth
April 17, 1949 ~ September 21, 2007

Ken passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Nanaimo.
Born in Ocean Falls, raised in Ladysmith, BC, Ken was the oldest of three children born to loving parents James (deceased) and Irene Taylor. Ken was a loving husband to Cheryl; a caring father to Michael, Tammy (Mike), Sandy (John), Jason (Holly), Adam, Angela (Dustin), Andrea, Kyle, Brett and Sareena; a proud grandfather to Jordan, McKenzie, Braydon, Mariah, Hunter, Billie, and Drea; and a supportive brother to Nancy (Allen) and Phillip.
Ken made many friends through his personal life and through his business ventures in Northern BC and on the West Coast. He was devoted to his grandchildren and loved the nature that surrounded him in BC. He was passionate about golfing, fishing, and hunting with his friends.
His career in the Forest Industry began in MacKenzie, BC by earning his CGA professional accounting designation, then progressing through the ranks to Chief Accountant of a major logging division. He eventually created his own successful logging business along with son Michael, supporting several small communities on Vancouver Island.
A generous person to his family and friends, Ken will be deeply missed by all.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 1:30 pm at First Baptist Church, 1650 Waddington Road, Nanaimo, BC.
Visitations are to be held Thursday, September 27, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Friday September 28, 2007 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s name to the Children’s Hospital of BC or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon.

MITCHELL, Thomas Patrick (Pat)
Born March 17, 1918 passed away September 26, 2007 .
With heartfelt sorrow we, the children of Pat Mitchell, announce his passing. He is now at peace with his beloved wife, Sylvia. Pat will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was one of those rare individuals who exemplified how to live life with morally correct values, how to treat others with dignity and respect, and how to enjoy the simple everyday encounters with family and friends. He is missed by his four children Michael, Gail (Bob), Heather (Brian), Helen (Bob), his six grandchildren Kelly, Thomas, Eric, Jamie, Emily, Kate and his two great grandchildren Brydie and Gabriel.
