Mr. David Ian Rose
May 1, 1943 - November 3, 2007
The family of David Rose is relieved to announce his release from the devastating effects of pancreatic cancer, from which he had suffered for the past eighteen months. The loss of his presence has created a void which can never be filled. David fought this disease with courage, dignity and typically, without complaint and with concern only for his wife, family and friends. To the end, he refused to acknowledge the battle was lost.
David was born in Lincolnshire, England and attended Brig Grammar School and St Peters College, Birmingham. He emigrated to Canada in 1965 and became a proud Canadian. He started his teaching career at Alexander Elementary School and then taught at George Bonner Junior Secondary School. Having left teaching David went into the hospitality industry, managing the Village Green Inn, Duncan where he met many friends. In his final career, Dave provided quality financial planning and insurance services to a large clientele. David blessed family and friends with his exquisite culinary and entertaining abilities. Whatever David pursued he did with enthusiasm and care and would not complete any task until perfection had been achieved. Dave will be missed dearly by his best friend and wife Fran, his children Andrew (Maria), Amanda (John), Michael (Kim) and Janine; and by his grandchildren Terri, Bryce, Hannah, Daniel, Max, Shelby, Jackson, Olivia, Demi and Kole. A tribute to “Rosie” will be held at New Life Community Baptist Church, 1839 Tzouhalem Road, Duncan, B.C. on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society with our hope that funds be directed towards pancreatic cancer research.
