JOHNS, Bernard Alteare

Bernie Johns was born in Kaslo, B.C., on June 7, 1920, and passed away c in Abbotsford.
He moved with his family to Trail, B.C. as a child.
He received his education there and got his B.A. at U.B.C. and attended Teachers' College in Victoria.
Bernie taught school in Trail, and North Vancouver, retiring in 1977.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Mary and nieces, Heather (Heinz) Sittig of Trail, Pat Liber of Castlegar, Vivian (Tom) Black of California, Rita (Wayne) Redwick of New Westminster; nephews, Bill (Pam) Johnston of California, and Bob Johnston of Burnaby; and many other family members and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Emily Johns, his brother, Gilbert; his sister, Gladys Kline and his nephew-in-law, Frank Liber.
Bernie was a Master Mason, belonging to Abbotsford Lodge in Abbotsford and Corinthian Lodge in Trail.
He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
A memorial service will be held at Gladwin Heights United Church, 3474 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, on Saturday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. William "Bill" Epp, late of Abbotsford, B.C., passed away peacefully in the presence of his family, after a lengthy illness, on November 24, 2008, at the age 76, at Ebenezer Home, Abbotsford, B.C.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Myrna, 5 children: Tam (Kath), Patricia (Gary), Barbara, Susan (Shane), Michael (Krystal); 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Cathy.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home at 34537 Marshall Road, with visitation prior to the service. Donations may be made to the Parkinson Society British Columbia and B.C. Cancer Foundation.
The family would like to thank the care aids and nurses at the Ebenezer Home for their excellent care and support.
Special thanks to Margaret Leguerrier and Noreen LaChapelle for always being there.
Bill started his work career working for Dominion Construction, Watson Island (near Prince Rupert) where he met Myrna.
They were married March 21, 1953.
In 1958, they moved to Abbotsford.
Bill worked briefly for Coca-Cola, and then Taylor Bakery (Pineridge Farms).
He continued his successful career when he joined Totem Ready Mix, later to be Discount Concrete Ltd.
While working at Discount Concrete, he opened his own 2 Bakery Outlets, "Discount Bread Market"; one in Clearbrook, one in Langley.
Even though there was lots of work, there were also lots of beach days.
Myrna and Bill luckily had many trips to Bill's other love, Hawaii.
After his first battle with cancer, he worked for Gosling's of Abbotsford for 5 years.
He finally retired in 1995.
Bill is fondly remembered with love by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He showed his endless love for his family in each and every day.
Never judgmental, always supportive and always there.
Thankfully he has passed on these wonderful traits of unconditional love to all of them.
He has shown true love with his only love, Myrna.

On November 23, 2008, Edna passed away at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 88.
She is survived by her daughters, Doreen (Gordon) and Anne (Thomas) and sons, Douglas (Helene), Richard (Sandra) and Carl (Donna).
Edna was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Mary, husband, Morris, sister, Doris and infant daughter, Shirley.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, at 1:00 p.m. at Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home - 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, B.C. V2S 1M1.

Passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 22, 2008, with his family at his side.
John was born February 12, 1925, in Russia to Johann and Helene Geddert. John emigrated with his family to Paraguay in 1931, and married Aganetha (Neta) Wiens in 1952. Before emigrating to Canada in 1965, John and Neta had their four children, Barb, Helena, Erich and Monika.
John is predeceased by his parents, 4 siblings and his granddaughter, Nadia. He is survived by his loving wife Neta, and children Barb (Werner) Dyck, Helena Young (Murray), Erich (Brenda) Geddert, Monika (Arnie) Stroscher; son-in-law, Allan Young; grandchildren Mark, Vicky, Anthony, Lynnette, Nigel, Tosh, Anna, John, Connor, Noah; and great-grandchildren Ben, Elias, Lila and Ridley.
John's family greatly appreciated the prayers and support of all who helped them through his illness.
A viewing will take place on Thursday, November 27 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church, 2051 Windsor St., Abbotsford where the celebration of John's life will take place on Friday, November 28 at 11:30 a.m. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Born December 6, 1939 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully after a battle with his health, on November 21, 2008, in Mission Memorial Hospital, with his family at his side.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lizzie Crouch; brothers, David and Ronald Crouch; and sisters, Margaret Witala and Grace Bailey.
Bob will be missed by his wife, Joan (Grieve); his daughters, Kim (Kyle) Vallet, Shannon (Terry) Samek, Roberta (Richard) Klimmer; and his grandchildren, Teagan, Sarah, Talia, James, Michelle, and Trent; his siblings, May (Tom) Dewar, Dorothy Clark, Ruth Tanner, John, Larry (Mary), Mina (Art) Blackall, Jim (Jean), Diane (Morris) Tessaro, Lenore (Ronald) Parr, and Linda Parr; his sister-in-law, Ellen-Mae (Allan) King; and brother-in-law, John (Ann) Grieve.
His 56 nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, and a few great-great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mehra and the staff at Mission Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion during his illness.
Bob was a devoted family man whose happiest times were spent camping and fishing with his wife, Joan, his children, grandchildren, and friends.
He always had a dog at his side.
Bob spent his lifetime working in the shake and shingle industry, and was a retired member of the IWA.
He was past president of the Silverdale Community Center and past president of the Mission Curling Club.
A service will be held on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Andrews United Church, 7756 Grand Street, Mission, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Mission Hospital Auxiliary Memorial Fund, 7324 Hurd Street, Mission, B.C. V2V 3H5.

BELIAK, Michael
December 6, 1924 ~ November 18, 2008
Mike was born in Vancouver, B.C., to Annie and Michael Beliak on December 6, 1924.
He grew up in the Blakeburn / Coalmont area.
Mike became a trainman and conductor and worked for CP Rail, until his retirement in 1986.
Mike joined the army and was a faithful legion member.
Mike was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Joanne, and is survived by his daughters, Linda (Karel) and Valerie (Zack); his sister, Kay, numerous nephews, their wives and children.
His nephew, Lyle and his wife, Jessica, along with their two children, Albert and Nicole played a very important role in his life.
He will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service celebrating Mike's life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel at Henderson's Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.
Donations may be made to the Mission Hospice in lieu of flowers.

JONES, Bernard Harry "Bernie"
January 26, 1927 - November 15th, 2008
"Bernie" Jones passed away peacefully November 15th, 2008 at the age of 81.
He was born on January 26, 1927, in Toronto, Ontario, where he lived, until he joined the Army with his brother, Walter.
After he left the Army, he moved to Vancouver, and worked as a Longshoreman until he retired.
Bernie was a member the Royal Canadian Legion in Mission, where he enjoyed the company of many of the members.
Bernie loved the outdoors, dancing and meeting new people.
He had the "Gift of the Gab".
Bernie is survived by his loving wife, Eileen of over 40 years, his brothers, Walter (Lydia), Lyle (Jean) and Alvin, his brother-in-law, Alvin Ward (Diane) and many nieces and nephews, who cared for him deeply.
Bernie will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
CONSTANCE ELIZABETH ANN HUSTON (nee Hopps)
September 21, 1937 - November 14, 2008
Born: Sept. 21, 1937 at Rimbey, Alberta; passed away peacefully: November 14, 2008.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph; her sisters, Jean and Winnie; her daughters, Kim, Dawn, Andrea; her sons, Howard and Donald; and her twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Connie will be greatly missed by her loving family.
