GOYETTE, June Christina Rose (nee May)
June 16, 1921 - December 24, 2008
Passed away peacefully December 24, 2008, at the age of 86.
Tiny grew up in a float house in small communities, primarily Alert Bay, and Beaver Cove. She later moved to Port Alberni, where she lived with her parents, brother and sister.
At the age of 25, she met her husband, Dick Goyette, and later settled in Kelowna, B.C., where they raised two boys, Rick and Nick.
Tiny, Dick and their youngest son, Nick, relocated to Abbotsford, B.C., in 1975, where she remained until her death.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Dick Goyette in 1998; her brother, Sam (Sonny); and sister, Dorothy (Babs).
She is survived by her sons, Rick (Candice) of Kelowna, B.C., and Nick of Abbotsford, B.C.
Tiny also leaves behind 3 loving grandchildren, Alexis, Jason, and Brayden, and one special great-granddaughter, Mikayla Madelaine Rose.
She also leaves behind many friends and extended family members.
Special thanks are extended to the caring staff at Menno Home.
You cared for our mother and grandmother with love and compassion, and for that we are truly grateful.

PETERSON, Julia Jean passed away peacefully, March 11, 2009, after a brief illness, at the age of 94 years.
Julia was predeceased by her husband, Fritz in 1986.
She is survived by her three sons, Leslie of Hixon, B.C., Rolf of Abbotsford and James of Naramata, and their families.
Her daughter, Lois of Saskatchewan, and her family. \
No formal service at Julia's request.
An informal gathering will be held at the home of Rolf & Louise, #34-2035 Martens St., on Sunday, March 15, 2009, in the afternoon.
The family thanks the staff at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their care of Julia.

CARLETON, Ralph Ronald
Jan. 1, 1922 - March 8, 2009
Ralph was called Home to heaven on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 87 years of age, following a brief stay in hospital.
Born and raised in Simmie, Saskatchewan, Ralph served his country as a radar technician (1942-1945) stationed in Regina, Kingston, Toronto, Prince Rupert, Victoria and Ottawa.
Ralph met Mary (née Pratt) in 1941, while teaching Vacation Bible School in southwestern Saskatchewan.
They were married on April 24, 1946, and spent the next 62 years of their lives together, loving and serving others.
After pastoring with the United Church of Canada in rural Saskatchewan, for some years, Ralph and Mary farmed in Ravenscrag, SK (1954-1961) and Cremona, AB (1961-1998).
In November of 1998, they moved to Abbotsford, to be near their eldest son, whose health was in serious decline due to multiple sclerosis.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents and 11 siblings, and his eldest son, Ron (2003).
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; daughter, Rose Carleton; son, Neil (Valerie) Carleton; daughter-in-law, Gladys (Ken) Reeve, all of Abbotsford; foster son, Peter (Carol) McNairn of Calgary; granddaughters, Nikki Carleton of Nelson, Emmy (Jason) Epp and Coralie Carleton of Abbotsford, and grandsons, Logan and Landon McNairn of Calgary.
A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, at Abbotsford Evangelical Free Church, 33218 Marshall Road (Marshall and Ware).

May 3, 1930 - March 7, 2009
Un-Rau, Rev. Albert Menno passed away peacefully on March 7, 2009 at the age of 78.
Albert was a recent resident of the Menno Terrace in Abbotsford, but found his home wherever he hung his coat.
Albert was born into a Mennonite family on May 3, 1930, and found his purpose in life as a minister for the Evangelical Free Church, The United Church of Canada, and the Anglican Church of Canada.
He also served as a missionary for the EV Free Church in the Philippines.
His mission work spanned many years and true to his faith and values, he kept in touch with most of the lives he touched.
After leaving the ministry in 1987, Albert pursued many ventures; including Environmental projects, health care distribution and the publication of his autobiography "In and Out of the Abyss."
Albert loved reading and achieved his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Master of Divinity, and was in the process of writing his Doctoral Thesis - "The Church's Role in the Environment".
His marriage to Esther Ruth Bergmann was a glorious union that lasted 55 years.
In addition to the joys of family life, Albert was proud to share his ministry with Esther - pianist, organist and music teacher.
Albert is fondly remembered by his wife, Esther, four children, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren (2 more on the way!).
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want" A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 13, at 3:00 p.m. in Highland Community Church, 3130 McMillan Road.

September 12, 1921 - March 7, 2009
Dorothy passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission.
She will be forever in the hearts of her family.
She is predeceased by her husband, Eugene Tessaro, brothers, Howard Frost, Kenneth Kiernan, Bud Kiernan, and her daughter-in-law, Elaine Tessaro (nee Dueck).
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Beth (Al) Byron, Joan (Tom) Tomlin, Marion McCristall, and her son, Jim Tessaro.
Her grandchildren include Greg (Tracey) Byron, Heather Byron, Denise Tomlin (Jon Mechan), Julie Tomlin, David McCristall, Amy (David) Green, Mark Tessaro, James (Carolin) Tessaro, and Paul Tessaro.
Her great-grandchildren are Connor and Joel Byron.
Dorothy grew up in Sumas Prairie and was an active member of the Sumas Women's Institute and the Pioneer Committee.
She was very enterprising and entrepreneurial and always had a project on the go.
In later years, she served on the Hall Committee at Carriage Lane and will always be remembered for her winning ways, love of playing the organ, dancing, painting in watercolours, and her amazing talents as a hostess.
She was well-known for her ability to cook, bake and organize events.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Christine Morrison Hospice.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at Henderson's Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.

Rudolf Riegel, formerly of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB, on March 7, 2009, at the age of 89 years.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Stanley (Charlotte) of Calgary, and Lois (Paul) Lucas of Abbotsford, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Also survived by 4 siblings of Medicine Hat.

MARTENS, Sarah (nee Harms) passed into the presence of her Lord on March 6th, 2009, at the age of 91 years.
She is survived by her loving family, sons, Menno (Joan), Melvin (Rosemary) and Wesley (Laurel) and daughter Pat (Brien) Stewart, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Also survived by 2 brothers, Henry (Joan) and Jake (Deanna) Harms and one sister, Nettie (Elmer) Boehr.
She worked at Vancouver General Hospital as a housekeeper, working up to become a supervisor.
She was also a longtime member of Sevenoaks Alliance Church.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, at 12:00 noon, in Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, B.C.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy and granddaughter, Cheryl.
