January 15, 1912 - July 9, 2009
Burden, M. Jean born January 15, 1912, in Abbotsford, B.C., passed away July 9, 2009 at Hogg Pavilion, Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock.
Jean and her husband lived in Kamloops, Kelowna, Victoria, & Vancouver, while raising their family.
In retirement, they moved to Qualicum Beach, where they enjoyed their golfing and Island life.
After Doug's passing in 1991, Jean moved to White Rock, to be closer to her family.
She is survived by Geri, Duncan (Ranveig), Heather (David), seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a special cousin Rhoda Mitchell.
Jean was a fun person, always optimistic and she will be greatly missed.
At her request, there will be no service.
BILLINGSLEY, Harry George

With much sadness we announce the passing of Harry on July 7, 2009.
Harry is survived by his loving family; Betty, wife and caregiver of 65 years, sons, John and Jim (Patti), grandchildren, Jamie (Kelly), Lindsay (Jean-Paul) & Julia, and great-granddaughter baby, Abigail.
After graduating from Lord Byng, Harry joined the RCAF at 18 and went on to complete a tour of 40 missions as a navigator on Halifax Bombers.
He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1945.
Upon returning to Canada, he graduated from U.B.C. and became a CGA. He retired as Regional Director of Customs and Excise in 1978.
Always a family man, he enjoyed golf and boating and retired to Ocean park 25 years ago.
His 21-year battle with Parkinson's was born with patience and dignity.
So many thanks to our friends and care givers in home and at Westminster House and our dear Virginia.

MacRAE, Frances Anita

MacRae, Frances Anita (nee Bouck) passed away peacefully at home on the 5th of July, 2009 in her 77th year.
She will be sadly missed by Colin, her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, and her children, Colin (Mariko), Ross (Eiko), Cathy Fuller (Jonathan) and Bob (Natalia); grandchildren,
who will miss her dearly are Emilia, Xavier and Claire, Christopher and Stuart, Sara and Hanna.
Also grieving her passing, will be her brother, Thayer (Mae) and her sisters, Adaline Alkan, Barbara Good and Wendy MacDonell.
Cremation with a private service has taken place.
A celebration of Fran's life will be held at Cloverdale United Church, 17575 - 58A Ave. on Wednesday, August 19th at 2:00 p.m. (604-574-5413).

Martha Look
June 14, 1932 - July 4, 2009
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martha on July 4 at her home in White Rock, B.C.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Walter Welychka on December 23, 2003.
She will be dearly missed by her sister, Beatrice Spitznagel, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and other members of her family.
She will forever be remembered by her many friends.
Martha was a kind, loving and generous lady.
Her greatest joy was entertaining and travelling.
She was an officer of the City of Winnipeg Police Department where she served until her retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 13th, at the Victory Memorial Park Funeral Home, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, B.C.
A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.

Eamonn Lavelle
March 8, 1942 - July 4, 2009
Eamonn Lavelle, 67, died July 4th, 2009, at Langley Memorial Hospital, after a 2-month battle with brain cancer.
Eamonn was born on March 8th, 1942, in Sligo Ireland, to Patrick and Belinda (Naughton) Lavelle.
He was the youngest of six children.
Eamonn's love of music and football (aka soccer) started in his youth.
He was an lifelong fan of Manchester United, as well as Ireland's George Best, even after immigrating to Victoria, B.C., Canada, in 1973, moving to White Rock, 1984, and Fort Langley, in 2006.
Eamonn was an avid accordion player, and gave freely of his time to entertain with the Enniskillen Accordion Marching Band (26-year member), Harry and Friends and Pride of Erin at parades, Elks and other venues.
Eamonn is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Siobhan and her husband Jack; and grandchildren, Jacob and Scarlett deBad, all of Fort Langley.
He is further survived by his sister, Ellamay Lawson (Alfred) of Scotland, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives in England, Ireland and Canada.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Martin, Patrick and John, and sister, Anne.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 14th, at 2 p.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Walnut Grove, Langley, followed by an Irish wake for friends and family at the Elks Club on George St., White Rock.
For those who wish there will be prayers and a viewing on Monday, July 13th, at 5 p.m. at the church noted above.
As Eamonn was an avid rose gardener, if desired, flowers may be sent to the church for the service.
LEWIS, Alan Scott
March 20, 1932 - September 21, 2009
Born March 20, 1932, passed into the presence of his Lord, September 21, 2009, at Peace Arch District Hospital.
Alan passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Wilma of 52+ years, at his side.
Predeceased by his parents Harry and Mary Lewis of Toronto, and survived by his wife, Wilma; son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Sam; grandson, Bradley; granddaughter, Melissa; daughter, Nancy Halvorson; son-in-law, Geoff; granddaughters, Taylor and Jill; and grandson, Kailen.
He will be missed by his family, extended family, and many friends.
Alan was a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Special thanks to Dr. Grant Gibbings and Dr. Alan Pretty, as well as Palliative Care doctors, nurses and all staff.
A special note of thanks to nurse, Judy Keary, of Day Surgery.

Loughlin, Cyril Clayton

Cyril passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital on September 20th, in this 92nd year.
Dear father of Leslie and Rick; grandfather of Christopher, Jacqueline and Brendan & loved husband of Florence for 39 years.
Cy was brother to Jean and Roy, and an uncle to many nephews, nieces and step-family.
Cy was born in Flat Island, Newfoundland, and was educated in North Toronto.
He joined the Royal Canadian Artillery in September, 1939, and served 5 years overseas, until he was wounded in Italy, and medically discharged in June of 1944.
Cy was an honour student at Toronto Radio College.
After a short time with the Ferry Command, Cy joined Trans Canada Airlines (later, Air Canada) as a radio operator and served 30 years.
Grateful appreciation is expressed to the 6th floor Nursing Staff of Peace Arch Hospital.
Interment Service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto.
