In loving memory of Paul Hildebrandt, born June 20, 1929 in Haarby, Denmark. Paul passed away suddenly on June 2, 2003. Formerly of the 108 Mile Ranch, Paul retired in Richmond. He will be sadly misssed by his wife of 47 years, Lilly, his son Peter, granddaughters Alicia and Cassandra, their mother Dawn, his son Frank and wife Tammy, grandchildren Miranda and Curtis, and his daughter Tina. He was predeceased by his two brothers in Denmark. Paul arrived in Vancouver in 1951. Unable to find work, he travelled north and came to Dawson City in 1955, where he immediately found employment with Yukon Consolidated Gold Corporation. The spell of the Yukon was cast upon him and after retiring he visited Dawson City every summer for 12 years. He had many friends there. Now his spirit has been set free to look down upon the country he came to love so much. No service at family’s request. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Harold Max Husberg of 108 Mile Ranch passed away in Prince George hospital on June 2, 2003 at the young age of 68 years. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Patricia and their two daughters, Jean (Nels) Linden and Marlene; three wonderful grandchildren, Brittany, Justin and Nathan; his sister, Shirley and two brothers, John (Sharon) and Ron (Lynne), plus neices and nephews. McArthur, William Saturday, 31 May 2003
On May 31, 2003, William Lloyd McArthur went home to be with the Lord. Born on May 15, 1928, he was predeceased by his wife, Georgina McArthur, and son-in-law, Alfred Schaer. William is survived by two sisters and a brother; three children, Bruce (Leslie), Christina, and Chet (Teresa); thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandson. His kind and gentle presence will be greatly missed. Service will be held at the 100 Mile House Baptist Church on Friday, June 13, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Gosnell, Bert (Bertram) Wednesday, 28 May 2003
Passed away on May 19 at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, B.C. while recovering from surgery. Born Jan. 15, 1922 in Enderby, B.C., Bert worked in North Vancouver, Prince George and Fort Nelson before retiring in 108 Mile in 1983. He loved the outdoors and described the Cariboo to friends as “God’s Country”. Bert and his wife Dorothy were active members of the 108 Mile Golf Club and the 108 Mile Resident’s Association. His wit and humour will be missed by his family and friends. His wife, Dorothy, predeceased him in 1997. He will be greatly missed by his children Judith Bartell of Lethbridge, Alberta; Theresa Lorenze of Campbell River, B.C., Geraldine Gosnell of Queensland, Australia; Donald Gosnell of Victoria; and stepdaughter Michelle LaPointe of Lloydminster, Alta. Bert is survived by his sisters Winnie Forster of Enderby, B.C.; Joan Johnson of Burnaby, B.C. and brother John Gosnell of Cobble Hill, B.C.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mom and wife “Jo-An Sabo” the evening of May 21, 2003 after a 3-year battle with a rare blood disorder. Jo-an was born and raised in Everett, Washington, daughter to Joe and Jennie Thatcher. In 1958 Jo-An met and married Tom. Shortly thereafter they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Cynthia Louise, who tragically passed away from SIDS on Jan. 7, 1959. In 1966 Jo-An and Tom moved to Canada where they raised their three children in various locations throughout B.C. Jo-An owned and operated Lillooet Sports Shop for several years. In 1978 they moved to Aldergrove and then to 100 Mile House in 1990. Jo-An enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved gardening, fishing and garage sales. Jo-An could always be found in many friends and family’s gardens. She loved socializing with friends. Above all, Jo-An’s passion was to love and care for her children and husband. Jo-An will be forever remembered. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Jo-An is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tom; three happily married children, Dave and Bonnie, Ron and Yvette, Cheryl and Dennis; six grandchildren Shawn, Jennifer, Candace, Olivia, Jackson and Amanda. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the B.C. Children’s Hospital. A Celebration of Life was held on May 27 at the 108 Mile Community Hall for family and friends.

In loving memory of Anne Ross, born June 24, 1921. Anne passed away, May 28, 2003 at the age of 81 years old in 100 Mile Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her children: Pat Ross of 100 Mile, Robert Ross of Horse Lake; Lynn (Murry) McColemen of Maple Ridge, B.C.; Wendy (Gerry) Parent of Forest Grove; Sandy (Brad) Jones of Forest Grove; and Pam (Rick) Drinkwalter of Bobcageon, Ont.; three sisters, Emily, Gladys and Betty; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family and close friends gathered at Anne’s home in 100 Mile on June 2, 2003. Anne’s kind and gentle presence will be greatly missed and she will be forever in our hearts. Love your family.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Leo and Eva Curry (nee Cochrane), Duncan passed away peacefully in his sleep at 100 Mile House, B.C. He is survived by loving companion Cathy Michelle, his sister Marjorie Harvey and good friend Edna Curry. He leaves behind sons, Ron, Ross, Raymond and Victor and daughters Ruth and Sylvia as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For most of his life Duncan worked in sawmills, notably Etter’s and McClaires Mills in Nova Scotia and Ainsworth in 100 Mile House. Duncan loved to work on his cars and trucks. An adventurous spirit, he made several trips across Canada. Best of all, he loved a few good laughs with his many friends. Final resting place: Lac la Hache Cemetery. A Celebration of Life to be held at South Rawdon, N.S. at a later date.

Born April 1, 1921 in Ashcroft. Passed away May 19, 2003 in the Ashcroft Hospital. Charles is survived by his wife Pat Baker; son Phillip (Bev) Baker; daughter Helen (Don) Hendricks and grandson Robert Allan Baker. There will be a service at the Clinton Community Hall, May 28 at 2:00 p.m. No flowers by request. Donations can be made to the Ashcroft Palliative Care Unit.
