Albert William Jones of Kamloops passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 89 years of age. He is survived by his loving children Patricia Nolin, Barbara, Shirley, Paul, Roy, Norman and Murray, and very, dear friend Pat Geldhill; grandchildren Brenda, Mark, Kirk, and all other grandchildren; great grandchildren Brittaney, Tanner, Jaimie, and all other great grandchildren.

Elsie Higgins (neé Herchak)
August 20, 1925 - October 21, 2011.
Elsie Higgins passed away peacefully at 86 years of age in the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home in Kamloops from complications of congestive heart disease. Throughout her varied and creative life, Elsie was a cook, rancher, licensed hunting guide, seamstress, skilled Scrabble player, loving mother, sometimes all at the same time. She made lifelong friendships in the Cariboo, the Peace River, and finally Kamloops, where she had made her home for the past ten years.
Elsie is survived by her daughter Betty Schleif, son Roger, granddaughter Donette Love, great-granddaughter Kristin Love, sister Stella Moutray and brothers Peter, Mike, Jim, Larry, Ed, Roman and Robert Herchak. She is predeceased by her son Peter, ex-husband Cecil, her beloved partner Ray Richter, and brothers Sam, Wilbert and Leonard Herchak.
A Memorial celebration will be held at the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m

DARREN SIMMONS
December 12, 1979- October 11, 2011
"Darren Simmons, beloved son of Dale and Phyllis Simmons, passed away suddenly at age 31 in High River, Alberta on October 11, 2011 due to complications from Type 1 Diabetes. Darren is also survived by his loving sister Jennifer (Nathan), his nieces Deven, Kayla and Isabella, his nephew Tai, his Grandma and Grandpa Simmons, his Aunt Jan and her children and grandchildren and many friends. No funeral will be held but if so desired, a donation in Darren's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly accepted. Darren's ashes will be buried at the Hillside Cemetery in Kamloops near his Grandma, Grandpa Bakewell and his Uncle Bob. Darren was loved very much and will now rest in peace."

Bill Campbell of Kamloops passed away on October 11, 2011 at 63 years of age.
He is survived by his loving daughters Spryng (Ron) Kubicek of Calgary, Deanna (Darrell) Fowler of Kamloops, stepson Stuart Campbell of Kamloops, grandchildren: Jessalyn Fowler, Wren Fowler, Kyle Kubicek, Holland Kubicek, brother Craig (Dianne) Campbell, sister-in-law Lin MacDonald, nephew Mike (Christy) Campbell, niece Tami (Dan) Leggatt and very special friend Linda McDougall.
He was predeceased by his brother Colin Campbell.
Bill was born in Vancouver in 1947 to parents Stuart and Isobel Campbell. The family moved to Kamloops in 1952 and this is where Bill spent his life. He had two daughters and a stepson. Bill was an independent operator of Chimp & Z trucking for VanKam from the time he was 20 years of age until he retired. The relationships he built while trucking meant the world to him. The Shuswap region was where he worked and played. Many summer days where spent pulling kids behind his boat. The summer nights were spent at the end of the dock debating world issues with family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, BC.

Mathew Yanchuk
September 7, 1931 - October 1, 2011
Mathew (Metro) Yanchuk was born in Saskatchewan near Foam Lake. He came from a large prairie family. In 1939 the family moved to Vancouver, BC. In 1960 he moved to Kamloops with his sister Eunice, brothers John & Joe and together with his Dad and Mom opened the family business - The Franklin Hotel, they had this business for 15 years.
He then started out at the Kamloops School District as a bus driver and went on to be a custodian until his retirement.
Mathew was a loving family man.
He was predeceased by his wife Marg, his father Harry, mother Mary and brother Joe.
He is survived by brothers John (Janet), Nick (Peggy), sisters Rose (Bill), Eunice (Jim). His loving step-children Donna (Bob) and Darrell (Shelley), many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
Mathew was an avid curler, he and his wife Marg spent many joyful hours at the Kamloops Curling Club. He also was an active golfer, a member of the Kamloops Golf Club for 40 years. Mat was a patron member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles since 1992.
There will be a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kamloops Curling Club on Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC.

John (Goldie) Hobbs
August 22, 1926 - September 17, 2008
John Hobbs of Kamloops passed away on September 17, 2008 at 82 years of age. He will be remembered by his children, David Hobbs of Ottawa, Rodney Hobbs of Kamloops, Deborah Crawford of Victoria, and Randy Hobbs of McLure; and grandchildren Jennifer, Sean, Andrea, Alexander, Shanna, Patricia, Tyler and Natasha. John was predeceased by his wife Lois.
John was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan on August 22, 1926. He worked for C.N.R. for over 48 years. John enjoyed playing crib, curling, the Elks Club, and loved being around family and friends.
John will always be remembered and dearly missed
A Celebration of John’s life will take place at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the North Kamloops Elks Lodge, 102-1121 12th Street.

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our much loved Husband, Dad and Grandpa. Robert will be greatly missed by his loving wife Elaine; daughter Sandy (Mike) and their children Stewart, Dean and Scott; daughter Carolyn (Kurt) and their children Tyson and Lauren; and son Dan (Alyona) and their children Daniel, Steven and Jennifer.
Robert was born and raised on the farm in Minnedosa, Manitoba. He enjoyed farming, hunting, the rural life and his place at the lake. After moving to Kamloops, he was involved in home construction and trucking.
Robert always emphasized strong family values and was so proud of his family – he loved the time spent with his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Robert’s life will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Bible Truth Church, 1099 Fraser St., with Pastor Andrew Picklyk officiating.

March 16, 1931 – September 16, 2008
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a precious mom and wife. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband Thomas of 58 years; sons Tom Jr. (Sherri) and Terry; loving daughter Heidi (David); David’s mother Chrissie; mother in-law Leeilla Pedersen; sister Diana (Larrie); and niece Alison (Daniel). She was predeceased by her parents Josephine and Nicholas, and by her brothers Jackie, Billy, Jimmy, and Peter and sister Louise.
Memories of Betty’s love for her family and life, great sense of humour, cute smile, and her loving, gentle ways, will be in our hearts forever and always.
The family would like to thank Dr. William Stinson for his care and support throughout Mom’s illness and the wonderful group of home care support workers who gave exceptional care for my Mom- Thelma, Donna, Lynda, Maggie and Amber.
A Memorial Mass will be recited at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008 in the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 255 Nicola St, with Father Derrick Cameron, Celebrant.

Florence Nelson passed away on September 20, 2008 in the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital with her children by her side.
Florence was born in Kamloops on December 20, 1916 and married Floyd in 1939. She was predeceased by her husband Floyd, all nine of her siblings and their spouses except for Doris Johnston of Clearwater. Florence is survived by her loving children Lois (Noel) Cutler and Don (Gail) Nelson. Also left to cherish her memory are her five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital for their loving care and support.
We especially want to thank Shirley and Terry for all the love and attention they gave our Mom.
