BAINES - Henry Joseph (Hank) passed quietly from this life June 19th, 2000, at the age of 79 years. BANKS - Captain William Alfred. Born August 2, 1929. Sailed away on Father's Day - Sunday, June 18, 2000, leaving his crew behind: wife Valerie; daughters Robyn (Mike), Leslee, Lori (Lyle), Cathy (Smitty), Jody (Brad) and Maureen (Cam); grandchildren Tony, Bill, Terry, Brandon, Chris, Jenna, Kelly, Michael, Meghan, Brian, Shane and Tara; and great-grandchildren Jessica, Chantelle, Kirk, Billy, Brenna, Devan, Lataiya and Bailey. BAYES - Robert Allmore, April 14, 1937 - June 9, 2000. Bob Bayes succumbed to cancer on Friday, June 9, Calgary, Alberta. Robert Bayes was born April 14, 1937 in McBride, B.C. His loving wife Marilyn Bayes (nee Baroni); daughter Shawn; siblings Kaye, Marion, Harvey and Hazel survive Bob. His brothers Larry and Cal; son Dean; and parents Agnes and Bruce Bayes predeceased him. Bob retired in Okotoks, Alberta in 1999. Robert served loyally the Masonic Lodge and achieved Worshipful Master (1997 and 1998) of Acadian #22 Masonic Lodge, BCR Vancouver, and member of Cornerstone Lodge #13 High River. Robert also had an active interest in life as a philatelist, photography and outdoors. A memorial service will be held June 25, 2000 at 1:00 p.m., 1495 West 8 Avenue in Vancouver, B.C. BULL (BRADLEY) - Myrtle (Molly), born November 12, 1911 and passed away June 19, 2000. It is with sorrow that the family wish to share with you this passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Audrey Cargyle of Edmonton, Alberta, and Norma Green (Dave) of Penticton, B.C.; 2 sisters, Jean Bull of Chilliwack and Dorothy Farnel of Conniston, Ontario; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren. Also, Mrs. Gladys Merchison, a life long friend. She was predeceased by her husbands, Percy Bradley, Don Lindsley and Robert Bull; 1 brother James Gould; 3 grandchildren, Brad Petrie, Linda Cargyle and Dennis Cargyle. She was a former resident of Port Coquitlam, B.C. for many years and was a life time member of the ladies of the Royal Purple. CARSTAIRS - James, born in Scotland February 13, 1903, came to Canada in 1922, passed into the presence of the Lord June 16, 2000 in Delta Hospital. Beloved husband of Margaret for 66 years, he will be sadly missed. Known as "Big Jim" to many when he worked in the B.C. Coast logging industry until 1948; then as a partner with his brother Robert (Bert) as a dairyman, first in Deroche B.C. then in Delta, B.C. Lovingly remembered by daughters Grace Rankin (Jack) and Barbara Wright (Gordon) and son Jim Carstairs (Barbara), nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, as well as two sisters and two brothers in Scotland. DARCH - Olive, a longtime resident of Sapperton, New Westminster, passed away on June 19, 2000 at the age of 86 after a brief struggle with lung cancer. Predeceased by her husband Eustace ("Charlie") as well as her two sons Jack and Kenneth. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Joan (Bill); daughters-in-law Joyce and Muriel; grandchildren Judy (Chuck), Joanne (Ron), John (Maxine), Ken, Lisa and Rob; great-grandchildren Justin, Kyle and Cole.
