YOUNG - Philip Henry, born December 12, 1922, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family, May 4th, 2000. A long time employee of Coast Paper and avid bowler, predeceased by son Randy, son-in-law Mick, and nephew Douglas; survived by his loving wife Joan of 53 years, daughters Debbie (Bruce), Jeanette (Bob) and Diane and seven grandchildren. Memorial service to be held May 12, 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church Chapel, 3900 Arthur Drive, Ladner. Special thanks to Dr. Alexiadias and Delta Hospice for their compassionate care. JOHNSTON - Thomas Arthur ("Tom") Senior passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2000 at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He was 89 years old. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Pauline (nee Choa) Johnston and six children: Thomas Jr. (Vancouver) married to Elizabeth, their two daughters Yvonne and Lyse; Peter (London, England), Mary-Jacquelyn (Toronto), Valerie Hofer (Vancouver) married to Andreas Hofer, Simon (Vancouver) married to Sheila, and William (Oakville, Ont.) Other immediate family include nephew Ras Hansen and wife, Pauline and their two children Caryn and Andrew. Tom Johnston spent his working life in the import/export business based in Hongkong. He was a veteran of WWII in the battle of Hongkong. He retired from business to settle in Vancouver in the mid 1980s. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kline, Dr. Nedd and their team at St. Paul's Hospital. Their care and attention was exemplary. Visitation is on Wednesday, June 7th, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. at Kearney Chapel, 1096 West Broadway, Vancouver. There will be a mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 8th, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Guardian Angels Church, 1161 Broughton Street (off Davie). Following the service, interment will be at Gardens of Gethsemani, Surrey. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Lung Association or to the charity of choice. KENDALL - Grace (Mooney nee Kraushaar) passed away peacefully on June 3, 2000, surrounded by love from her husband, John, daughters Christine, Susan, Linda, Arlene and Trish. sister Carol and brothers Clayton (Crash), Vern, Richard, Don and Ron and many other family members and friends. Grace will be so missed by her grandchildren Erin, Roseanna, Lucas and Brett. Grace touched deeply all who knew her. She would say that "you get back what you give" and what she gave was love to those around her. When she died, her room was not big enough for everyone who wanted to be there - but her heart was. A celebration of Grace's life will be held at the Point Grey Golf & Country Club, 3350 S.W. Marine Dr. Vancouver on Friday June 9, 2000, beginning at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome. McInnes - Raymond Charles born in Vancouver on November 19, 1922, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox, B.C., June 5, 2000. He was predeceased by his first wife Audrey and his second wife Cathy. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Glenn McInnes, (Andrea) Christine Webber (Bill), Lorne McInnes, Craig McInnes (Marilyn), Mark McInnes (Sasha); his sister Elaine Fitzgibbon and sister-in-law Shirley Buie. He also leaves behind grandchildren; a niece and nephew and great-grandchildren. He will also be fondly remembered by many longtime friends and his co-workers from Western Canada Steel where he was formerly employed for many years. Many heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Cumberland Intermediate Care who took such wonderful care of him for the last two years, and also to the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital who made his last few days as comfortable as possible. NOBLE - Florence, age 93, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2000 at Central Park Manor, Burnaby, BC. Florence is survived by her loving family, son Joseph (Marguerite); grandson John (Fiona), David in England; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Among her many achievements in her unique life, Florence was the first Canadian grandmother to be sent overseas by the Armed Forces in WW II. Born in 1906 and now the last of her generation, she grew up in Saskatoon in a family of 13 children. Flo was a nurturer, a caregiver and an angel who has finally gotten her wings. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 9, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Parish, 140 Moody St., Port Moody. Predeceased by her husband Russell (1974), also predeceased by sister Margorie Kalbfleisch and brothers Ted, Charlie, Herb, Doug, Rolph and William Spriggs. OLSON - Anna, a resident of the Extended Care Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5th, 2000 in her 90th year. She is survived by her sons Arvid (Alice) Olson of Fanny Bay and Leonard Olson in Alberta; grandchildren Glen, Kathryn, Judy, Nancy, Ken and Warren; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister Marcia (Tom) Ewashko of Winnipeg; and her nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her brothers Ted, Steve and her granddaughter Karen. She will be fondly remembered for her love of family and in her leisure, a good game of bingo!
