TENFORD - Gordon Jens, born December 27th, 1939, passed away April 28th, 2000 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving family, wife Wilma; sons Jim (Jennifer) and Andy (Laurell); grandson Brayden; sisters Nola (Bill), Lucy, Inga; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also blessed with many wonderful friends and neighbours. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, 2318 St. John St., Port Moody on Saturday, May 6th at 1 p.m.

THOMPSON - Georgia Margaret passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, April 30th, 2000, at the age of 64. A remarkable mother and grandmother, she is predeceased by her granddaughter Trista Thompson, her mother Lillian Tait, her father George Allan and her sister Sandra Maley. Survived and ever loved by her 4 children, Mark, Clay (Betty), Holly (Francis), Jamie (Sarah); 7 grandchildren, Dustin, Tara, Amber, Rachel, Kayla, Kourtney and one yet unborn. She will be loved and missed for all time. Service to be held at St. Helen's Church, 10787 - 128th St., Surrey, Thursday, May 4th at 2:00 p.m.

TURLEY - Eulala Jean (nee Nicholson), born October 16, 1928, late of Surrey, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2000. Her sister Marie (Henry) and sister-in-law Joan predeceased her. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Robert; son Rand; daughter Sharon (Don); 4 grandchildren Greg (Michelle), Lisa (Jeff), Deanna (Chuck), Don (Ginger); 9 great grandchildren; brothers John and Ron (Patricia); numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Jean was a loving and much loved lady who will be missed dearly and remembered always. At her request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the B.C. Cancer Society would be much appreciated.

WHERRY (MACKENZIE) - Grace, 1915 - 2000, passed away peacefully April 29, 2000, at her home in Coquitlam, B.C. Grace was predeceased in May 1995 by her husband of 45 years, Lawrence Allen Wherry. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Norman MacKenzie, Donald MacKenzie, Dr. Wilfred MacKenzie, Ralph (Buster) MacKenzie, Tommy MacKenzie, Gordon MacKenzie, Fraser MacKenzie and her sister, Jessie Heale, all of Vancouver Island, except Dr. Wilfred MacKenzie, who was from Toronto, Ont.; also her loving Aunt Mary Miller who lived with her in Abbotsford. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Anna Payne, of Sidney, Vancouver Island; her daughters, Margaret Ruben (David), of Abbotsford and Jean McMillan (Dennis), of Coquitlam; four grandchildren, Dee Marie Maton, of Chilliwack, Darilynn Butler, of Port Coquitlam, Paul Ruben, of Burnaby and Mark McMillan, of Coquitlam. Grace will also be missed by four great-grandchildren, Michael and Murray Maton and Austen and Kaila Butler. Grace was born in Victoria, Vancouver Island. She moved to Abbotsford in 1953 and in the early 60's moved to Coquitlam. Grace was a Foster Parent from 1940 in Victoria until the 60's in Abbotsford. She had a deep love of life and children. She was a skilled toy maker and many a child has gone to bed with her Teddy Bears, of which she gave freely. For those desiring, donations made in Grace's memory to the B.C. Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, in the chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 27555 - 31 Ave., in Aldergrove, B.C. WHITMORE - Robert passed away suddenly at Peace Arch Hospital, April 26, 2000. Born in Hong Kong, May 27, 1907, Predeceased by his wife Ada (nee White) in 1998 and brother George and sister Lily (Elders). Lovingly remembered by daughters Maureen (George) Nelson, Beatrice (Ted) Cripps, Sr. Consolata (Susan) and son Andrew (Coleen) and by family and friends. Robert is survived by sister Kathleen Tibble; sisters-in-law Dora White, Patsy White, Betty White and brother-in-law Peter (Pam) White; 6 grandchildren, Christine, Sharon, Eileen, Sheila, Mary-Lynne and Mark; 5 great-grandsons, 13 nieces and nephews. NEZIL - George, late of Port Moody, passed away on Sunday, May 7th, 2000 at the Royal Columbian Hospital. Born on May 22nd, 1922 in Poland. He was the eldest son of Frank and Bernice. He immigrated to Canada as a young boy with his family, first to a farming community in Saskatchewan and later to Vancouver. A dedicated contributor to his country, community and family. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force 1941 - 1945; a lifetime member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 119, where he organized the first Port Moody bathtub races and other sports activities; founder of the Glenayre Boy Scout Troop; former president of the B.C. Minor Football Association and manager of Coquitlam Minor League Baseball and Football teams for many years. He worked as an electrician for B.C. Hydro from 1952 until retirment in 1984. His greatest gifts were the love, loyalty and care he gave his family. He was married 52 years to Via May, together they enjoyed 8 children, 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, also survived by sisters Judy and Anne and brother Walter. He will be sadly missed and always remembered. A Memorial Service will be held at the Port Moody Legion, branch 119, on Friday, May 12th, 2000 at 12:00 noon. PANTILUK - William "Westcoast" peacefully passed away at the Royal Columbian Hospital on Sunday, May 7th 2000 at the age of 66. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Shirley, of 48 years, son Rocky and daughter-in-law Jane; brothers Bob (Dianne) and John (Debbie); sister Naina and Sonia; 3 grandsons, Paul (Karen), Martin and Tony; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends; and especially his buddy Angus. William was born in Edmonton on November 25th, 1933, the son of Ukrainian immigrants and travelled the world in his youth in the Merchant Marine until he established roots in Vancouver. William worked at Carling Brewery for 37 years until he retired in 1988, dividing his time between tending his blueberry farm and fishing at Pender Harbour. There will be a viewing on Thursday, May 11th, from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at the Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Rd., Richmond, B.C. The funeral Service will be held at the Richmond Funeral Home on Friday, May 12th at 1:00 p.m. Reception following. PELLY - Shane passed away on May 3, 2000 at the age of 30 years. Shane was born on August 23, 1969 in Maple Ridge, B.C. His greatest passion was his two Harley Davidson motorcycles. Throughout his life, Shane was always a giving, caring, and very generous person. His greatest accomplishment in life was his son, Dylan and his stepdaughter, Alana. Shane was a "good" son to his mother and she was always proud of him. Shane will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Shane is survived by his mother, Zena and her husband, Larry McKinley; his adoptive father, Gordon Pelly and birth father, Ken Walper; a sister, Michelle Pelly and a brother, Geoff Pelly. He is also survived by his special Aunt Jacqui and Uncle Bert Wolffe; a niece, Megan and nephews, Justin, Jordan, Chris and Isaiah; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
