MATTSON (KRIEGER), DEBBIE - Friday, 14 Mar 2003
Debbie Mattson (nee Kreiger) passed away peacefully in Mission, B.C. on Friday March 14, 2003 at the age of 48 years, after a 2 year battle with a rare heart condition. She is predeceased by her older sister Cheryl; and devoted family pets; Dobermans Rona and Rampart and cats Tiffany and Tiger.
Debbie will be lovingly remembered by her husband Neil; parents John and Eileen Kreiger; brother Mark; parents-in-law Ross (Elena); Brian (Linda) and Darel; niece Lindsay; nephews Alex, Duncan and Robert; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many friends.
Throughout her life, Debbie had a deep love and respect for all animals, especially Arabian horses, and she leaves behind an Arabian stallion, affectionately known as "Paso".
In her career with the Mission School District for almost 30 years, she was admired for her dedication, organization and unwavering professionalism. Debbie always enjoyed her family and friends, spending time relaxing at home, as well as taking many vacations throughout B.C., the U. S. and Mexico, living her life to the fullest.
A Celebration of Debbie's life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 1:30 p. m. at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church, 32840 Janzen Avenue, Mission, B.C., (south east corner of Cedar St. and Cherry Ave.) with Reverend Judy Stark officiating. In lieu of flowers, donation information will be available at the service.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Carol Pomeroy and all the doctors, nurses and staff of Mission Memorial Hospital for their care and kindness.

SIDHU, JAGDEV - Wednesday, 12 Mar 2003
Sidhu, Jagdev. It is with heartfelt sadness we announce that on March 12, 2003, at the age of 51 years, Jagdev Singh Sidhu unexpectedly passed away in his sleep.
Born and raised in the village of Daudhar in India, Jagdev came to Canada in 1972 and made Mission, B.C. his home. Shortly thereafter he moved to Matsqui.
Predeceased by his father Malkiat Singh Sidhu, he is survived by his mother Nihal Daur and will be sadly missed by his wife Parmjit Kaur Sidhu and loving children; Ramandeep (Inder), Navdeep and Sonia. He will also be fondly remembered by his siblings, nieces, nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 10:30 a. m. from the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. Cremation to follow at Mission Crematorium.

TAYLOR, RUBENA - Wednesday, 12 Mar 2003
Rubena Taylor passed away suddenly at the age of 67 years, at Mission Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 2:15 a. m., with her family at her side.
Rubena is survived by her loving husband Bill Taylor; children Randy, Gary, Darlene, Brian and Darryl; grandchildren Kristie, Jessie, Stephanie and Heather; great-grandchildren Austyn and Hailey; three brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She will be dearly missed and always loved, but never forgotten.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at 3:00 p. m., at the Kingdom Hall on Seventh Avenue (at Cedar Street) in Mission, B.C. If desired, donations will be gratefully accepted to assist with funeral costs and may be given at the service or directly to the funeral home.

LAWRENCE, JEAN - Wednesday, 12 Mar 2003
Jean Florence Lawrence, passed away peacefully with her family lovingly by her side, on March 12, 2003, at the age of 82.
Born in Dunblane, SK, July 20, 1920,. Jean will be forever loved and sadly missed by her husband of 53 years, George, her daughters Lynn (Ron) Leith, Mary-Ellen (Gary) Philbrook, grandchildren Michelle (Jason) Imakire, Corry (Rafi) Balachsan, Reg (Raya) Leith, Debra (Rod) Taylor, great-grandchildren Cody, Ryan, Baillie and Aidan. Nieces Shirley (Ken), Eleanor (Mat) and special niece Laona, all her lifelong friends and extended family.
A loving, generous and spunky lady who loved the wonders of the world around her. Mom was truly loved and we will all miss her dearly.
No service by request.
Those wishing to do so may make a donation in Jean's name to the B.C. Cancer Society or the B.C. Heart & Stroke Association.

UNGER, ELMER - Monday, 10 Mar 2003
Elmer Unger, late of Mission, B.C., went to be with his Lord on Monday, March 10, 2003 in his 73rd year. Predeceased by his parents John and Margaret Unger. Elmer will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Helen; his four sons Steve (Carol), Brian (Gloria), Rob and Tom; five grandsons Daniel, Brad, Matthew, Nathan and Jesse; one sister Ruby (Frank); and many other friends.
Elmer drove fuel truck for Home Oil/Esso for many years and he was involved at the Cedar Valley Mennonite Church.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2003 at 1:00 p. m., at Hatzic Cemetery, with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 p. m. at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church, 32840 Janzen Avenue, Mission, B.C. with Pastor Dan Rempel officiating. Active pallbearers will be Dan Unger, Brad Unger, Matthew Unger, Nathan Unger, Ike Wiebe and John Bartel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).
Visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday, March 13, from 8 p. m. to 9 p. m. at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne Street, Mission, B.C.

Peggy Clara Davies, late of Abbotsford, B.C., and formerly a long time resident of Mission, B.C., passed away on Monday, March 10, 2003 at the Royal Columbian Hospital at the age of 80 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alan, son Tony (Heather) of Mission; daughters Ann Patterson (Raymond) of Armstrong and Janet McDonald of Deroche; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother Ken Cornwell (Edie) of Silverdale; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, March 22 at 2:00 p. m. at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne Street, Mission. Friends wishing to do so may make memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 33079B - 1st Avenue, Mission, B.C.

HARRIS, WILLIAM (BILL) - Monday, 10 Mar 2003
William (Bill) Harris of Desert Cove, Vernon, passed away March 10, 2003 at age 79 after a long battle with degenerative kidney disease. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty, 2 daughters, Beverley (Bassano, Alta.) and Brenda (Maple Ridge, B.C.) , 2 grandchildren Nicole and David, 1 sister Beverley Beauvais and nephews Tim, Wayne, Roy and Teddy.
We would also like to include all his friends from B.C. Tel (Telus) where he worked for 38 years and retired from 20 years ago in Abbotsford.
Bill joined the Navy during the war and was a survivor of the H. M. C. S. Nabob which was torpedoed off the coast of Norway. After the war, Bill, being an exceptional athlete, joined professional lacrosse where he played mostly in the uniform of the Vancouver Burrards, who won the prestigious Mann Cup in 1945 and 1949. He was inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in New Westminster on October 14, 1978.
Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed his years playing with his American and B.C. Telephone friends. He was a member of the Army and Navy Club in Vernon and special thanks to all who made his Saturday at the Meat Draw one of his (and his daughter's) favorite pastimes.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pritchett and all the nurses on the 3rd floor East at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for making his last days with us as comfortable as possible.
There will be no funeral or memorial service, as these were his wishes, so to all his many friends, we hope that you will say your good-byes in your own special way. Bill was a very special man, a good husband, father and grandfather to his family and an exceptional friend to the great many people he called friend. We will miss you, dear man, but you will remain in our hearts forever.

REMPEL, FRIEDA - Sunday, 09 Mar 2003
Frieda Rempel passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on March 9, 2003 at the age of 73 in MSA Hospital, Abbotsford, B.C.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Peter, daughter Sandra Graham (Dave), son Darrell Rempel (Ruth), and grandchildren Cynthia, Trevor, Casey and Heather.
Funeral Service Thursday, March 13 at 1:30 p. m. in Bakerview MB Church.

John Letkemann went to be with His Saviour on Saturday, March 8, 2003 at the age of 59 years.
He is survived by his wife Betty, son James and Shelley Letkemann, daughters Judy and John Funk and Sandra and Calvin Boldt. Also by eight beautiful grandchildren, Jennifer, Morgan, Michael, Noah, Maiya, Emma, Kyleigh and Jonathan.
The Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 2:00 p. m. at Stillwood Camp and Conference Centre, 44005 Watt Road, Lindell, B.C. (Cultus Lake). Interment at the Maclure Road Cemetery at 11:00 a. m. before the Memorial.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, at 7:00 p. m. at Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 3070 - 275A Street, Aldergrove.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of John, donations may be made to Stillwoood Camp and Conference Centre for camperships.

Passed away peacefully at the Cottage Extended Care Home in Abbotsford on Saturday, March 8, 2003. Stanley Worden of Abbotsford, formerly of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in his 86th year was the beloved husband of Rita, (nee Berthold).
Father of Valerie Morran and her husband Monty of Abbotsford, Gayle Dickie and her husband Rick of Port Hardy.
Loving Grandfather of Adrienne Coutts, Genevieve Grimson, Tyler Morran, Lexa Bergen, Beth Morran, Darren Dickie, Nicky Silter and Krista Dickie.
Great-Grandfather of Tony, Mitchelle, Makayla and Ryan.
Brother of Beatrice Brown and Wilma Summach.
Predeceased by brothers Orville and Clifford and sister Marian Todd.
Prayer Service will be Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p. m. Funeral Mass to be held at Saint Ann's Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Ave. in Abbotsford on Thursday, March 13th at 11 a. m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

McLATCHY, EDGAR - Wednesday, 19 Feb 2003
Edgar Richard McLatchy, loving husband of Freda, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at Mission Hospital in his 71st year.
Ed was born in Mission, joined the Air Force as a radio man and after discharge worked for B.C. Telephone.
Ed enjoyed flying, sawing lumber in his own sawmill and camping with Freda and his many friends.
Ed has 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He will be sadly missed by his family; Sandra (Robert), Stanley (Sheena), Ken (Tracey), Andrew (Jillian) and Robert (Kim). Ed inspired his family and friends and always offered help and encouragement.
Service to be confirmed at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

IMANSE, CHRISTINA - Wednesday, 19 Feb 2003
Mrs. Christina Imanse, late of Abbotsford, passed away on February 19th, 2003 at the age of 83 years, at Menno Home.
She is survived by Will (Marilyn), John (Pam), Sandra (Fred), Annette (Curtis), Daryl (Margaret), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and Tina Brown. She was predeceased by her loving husband Anthony Imanse.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 24, 2003 at 1:00 p. m. from Gateway Christian Reformed (First) at 1951 McCallum Road with Rev. Bert Slofstra officiating.
Burial will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery. Donations may be made to The Bethesda Society or Bibles for Missions.
