William ($Bill) Duncan, late of Abbotsford, B.C., passed away suddenly on June 20, 2003 in his 57th year, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox, B.C.
He was predeceased by his father, Rocky Duncan, in 1983 his mother Doris Duncan, in May 2002 and his wife Linda Duncan, in August 2002.
He is survived by his four children; Cheryl Hall (Griff), Darlene Duncan, Rod Duncan (Danielle) and Marina Duncan (Derek); brothers Jim Duncan (Sharon), Harlie Duncan (Doris); sister Audrey Ferguson (Dwaine), Noreen Martin (Norm) and Marion Duncan.
He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; Melina, Dakota, Tanner, Haiden and Jaida; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.
Bill was a volunteer firefighter in the 1970's and early 1980's with Hall #5 and Hall #7 in Langley/Aldergrove, B.C.
He was also a member of tjhe Pinegrove Garden Club with his late wife, Linda.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 2:00 p. m. from Henderson's Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, with Rev. Wayne Wattman officiating.
Interment to be announced.

John Carter Alexander, born June 26, 1945 (Wynyard, Sask.) passed away June 19, 2003 (Mission, B.C.) .
Survived by his mother Sybil, brother Jim (Margaret), siter Margaret Wright (David), son Tony Dixon (Stacey) and grandchildren Tyler and Kelsey, his children Sarah, Kenneth and Michael and their mother Thea, and a number of treasured nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Rev. J. Millard Alexander.
Carter was a graduate of the University of Victoria in classics who made a career in social work and helping people, finishing as an employee of Corrections Canada. He cared deeply about those who crossed his path.
Service will be held 1 p. m. Friday, June 27 at All Saints Anglican Church, Agassiz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in memory of Carter.

Jacob Quiring, born July 16, 1922 passed away suddenly at home on June 18, 2003 at the age of 80 years.
He was predeceased by his first wife Margaret in 1990 and son Peter in 1978.
He is survived by his loving wife Katie of 11 years; children; Ernie (Mary Ann), Dave (Sylvia) and Marlene (Elmer); step-children; Walter, Marian (Brian), Marlene, Hilda (Paul) and John (Carrie); 13 grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

On June 17, 2003, our beloved husband, father and friend, wrapped in the loving arms of our Lord, began soaring with his much-loved stars.
Dennis was a proud member of the Fraser Valley Astronomy Society, and was liked and loved by all.
Dennis was predeceased by his mother Jean, and is survived by his father Lawrence; loving wife Tracy; children, Joseph, Lia, Nicole and Ryan; former wife Beverlee (Brent); brother Jim (Gayle); sister Linda (Bill) and Bonnie; mother-in-law Gail (Fred); brother-in-law Trevor; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
A visitation with viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 from 5 p. m. to 8 p. m. at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne Street, Mission, B.C., with a Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at 1:00 p. m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 32550 - 7th Avenue, Mission, B.C. SCHROEDER, WILHELMINE (MINA) - Tuesday, 28 Jan 2003
Wilhelmine (Mina) Achroeder, age 89 of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully at Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at Menno Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Kantemirofka, Ukraine on January 5, 1914, she was a daughter of the late David and Helena Thiessen. The family emigrated to Canada in 1924. A homemaker and expert seamstress and dressmaker, she lived with her family in Kitchener, Ontario for 47 years before moving to Abbotsford in 1988.
Mina was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1989 and a brother David in 1990. She is survived by her sister Anne and brother Abe, both in Ontario, son Dennis in Victoria, son David in Halifax, NS and five grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday, January 31, 2003 at 10:00 a. m. from the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Maclure Road Cemetery.
VERIGIN (NEE HOLOBOFF), VERA - Tuesday, 28 Jan 2003
Our Dear Mother, Vera Verigin, passed away peacefully January 28, 2003 at the age of 89 years.
Vera was born in Canora, Saskatchewan and moved to Mission in 1939. The family built their home on Dewdney Trunk Road off of Cedar Valley Road and lived there until 1971. Mom and Dad then moved to Harrison Hot Springs for their retirement.
She will be very deeply missed by her daughter Verna (Jim) Sherwood and her son Fred (Marlene) Verigin; grandchildren Jarrod and Victoria Sherwood and Chad, Stacia and Kimberly Verigin; great grandchildren Kelsey, Jasmin, Alexis and Hanna.
We wish to thank the wonderful family at Pleasant View Care Home and Dr. Neminishen for the tender and loving care our mother received from all of you.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 1st, 2003 at 1:30 p. m., at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne Street, Mission, B.C.

Born in Grandview Manitoba on December 26, 1924. David passed away peacefully at MSA Hospital on January 28, 2003 at the age of 78.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, son Brett, daughter Carla, granddaughters Rayleene and Lindsay. Great grandson Aiden and sisters Margaret, Doris and Katherine.

CALDERONE, KEVIN - Sunday, 26 Jan 2003
Kevin's life was full of love and kindness. He took all under his wing of comfort and cared for each and every one of us.
Kevin's dedication to his family and friends poured over to his career and his community. Strong to his heart was his love of the outdoors, fishing, golfing and Sun Hang Do.
Family was the greatest of his assets. A supportive son, Kevin joins his father (Don) in Eternity and is survived by his precious mother (Gena). As a treasured brother to Vince (Jeanette), Dave (Jackie) and Warren (Melanie) his memories will contunue to comfort them. And as an adored uncle to his five nieces and nephews; Emma, Sebastian, Bayley, Amanda and Paige, "Uncle Kevin's stories" will always be remembered.
Kevin's spirit lives on in the hearts of his two prided sons, Colton and Matt, and his beautiful wife, Shelley; to whom he was an amazing, gentle father and loving husband.
Celebration of Kevin's life will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 1:00 p. m. at Henderson's Funeral Services, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford. Tea will follow the service.

Robert V. (Bob) Douglas, born October 9, 1924 in New Westminster, B.C., passed away on January 24, 2003 at Mission Memorial Hospital after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy; his brother, P. C. (Pat) Douglas of Abbotsford; two nieces, Sharon (Al) Carter of Mission, Lynn (Wilson) Beck of North Vancouver and nephew, Wayne Douglas of Sicamous, B.C.
Bob served overseas in the RCAF during WWII; was a charter member of the Mission Kinsmen Club and of Mission Golf & Country Club. A real estate agent in Mission for 30 years he retired in 1981.

HUME, PATRICK - Friday, 24 Jan 2003
Patrick (Pat) Walter Hume was born September 15, 1930, in Vancouver, B.C., passed away suddenly at his home in Deroche on January 24th, 2003. He is loved and remembered by his companion of 20 years Barbara, his 4 children, Chris (White Rock), Brent (Vancouver), Kim (Whitehorse), Nancy (Alberta) and four grandchildren. His family and friends in Mission who love him dearly will also sadly miss him.
Pat attended St. George's School in Vancouver before moving to Quadra Island with his family. At the age of 15, Pat went to Australia to finish boarding school. He came back to attend Qualicum College before spending many years living and working in Vancouver. In Vancouver he was married and had four children. Pat met Barb at McConnell Creek Bingo in 1983 while he was residing at Miracle Balley Treatment Centre. Pat and Barb lived in Mission for many years before moving to Deroche where he passed on peacefully on Friday evening. He spent many years helping men and women overcome their addictions with alcohol and drugs.
Pat loved life. He was passionate about spending time at the ocean and he loved sailing. He loved spending time with Barbara and their family in Deroche. He was a true friend to all who knew him and he touched the lives of many.
A special thank-you to the North Fraser Fire Dept., the nurses at Mission Memorial Hospital, New Heights Community Church, friends and neighbours who have been there for our family during this time.
All are welcome and encouraged to join us for a celebration of Pat's life to be held Friday, January 31st at 10:00 a. m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 57, 32608 Fraser Crescent, Mission, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Heights Community Church.

Theodore Henry Borne, 93 years of age, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2003 in Menno Hospital.
He was predeceased by his first wife Mary and son Jake and a grandson, Donald.
He is survived by his wife, Helene, nine children; George (Marlene) in Alberta, Henry (Linda) in Manitoba, Laura Hamm (Ed) in Saskatchewan, Herm (Hilda) in Alberta, Vern (Marge) in Kelowna, John (Susan) in Mission, Maurene in Saskatchewan, Eleanor Wall (Don) in Saskatchewan and Arthur (Susan) in Kamloops. Also 29 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, as well as 4 step-children; Irma and Harry Froese, Ron and Nell Bergmann, Irvin and Adina Bergmann, Leona Treloar and their families, whom he loved.
Visitation to take place Tuesday, January 28th from 7 - 9 p. m. at the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road. There will be a family graveside service held Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at 10:30 a. m. from Maclure Road Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30 p. m. at Bakerview M. B. Church, 2285 Clearbrook Road.
