HEATH, Barbara (Elizabeth) "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." (Martin Luther King) Elizabeth Barbara Heath (nee Miller) born July 25, 1919 in Kitscoty, Alberta; passed away peacefully on October 18, 2002. Lovingly remember by Victor, her husband of 59 years, their son Charles, daughter-in-law Fran, and grandson Aaron, daughter Bevin, son-in-law Richard, grandsons Tim, Mike and Dan, brothers Bud and Dirk Miller and their families. Missed by Amigo, Zone, and Abbey, particularly at meal times. Barbara, Oma, Mum's life touched people throughout the world with a profound love. She unfailingly treated all those she met with respect and dignity. Her home was a hostel where everyone found a hug, a meal, and a bed. They left feeling filled, spiritually and physically. For 80 years her church family was vital to her daily life. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Barbara will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at West Vancouver United Church, 2062 Esquimalt Ave., West Vancouver, B.C., V7V 1S4 (tel: 604-922-9171). In lieu of flowers donations to honour Barbara's 30 years of active involvement in the caring ministry can be made to The Caring Ministry, West Vancouver United Church. ADLARD, Ronald Davey passed away peacefully on December 18, 2002 after a brief battle with Cancer. Dave was predeceased by his beloved wife Lorna Maureen (nee Buie), his brother Gordon, sisters Bubbles and Betty Jean, and his parents Percy and Virginia. He is survived by his sister Beverly, his sons David (Lisa), Craig, and daughter Suzanne (Jeff), and his treasured grandchildren; Maryn, Chloe, Conner, Katie, and Ben. The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Lim, Dr. Marnie Heed, and Dr. Chris Coppin for the excellent care Davey received during the course of his illness. We also especially thank the outstanding nurses of the Fraser Valley Cancer Centre, and at Ridge Meadows Hospital (Units 2 & 3 West, and the TCU Unit) for their amazing care and wonderful support during this difficult time. BARNES, Edward William (Ted) passed away at Surrey Memorial Hospital on December 20, 2002 after a courageous struggle with cancer. Survived by his wife Sheila; only child Ray, daughter-in-law Vhie, granddaughter Alexia, three sisters, Doreen Stebbings, Gladdie Crosson and Joyce Pratico, and the rest of his loving, caring family. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 27th at 12 noon at the Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Delta. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory would be appreciated.

CHETTLE, Marcia Janet passed away in Richmond, B.C. on Saturday, December 21st, 2002 at the age of 54 years. Survived by her loving family, husband Darrel; stepdaughters Kristi and Tracey; mother Margaret Chettle; brother Tommy and sister Nancy Halifax. CIRILLO, Margherita Amelia passed away peacefully Sunday, December 22, 2002 age 80 years. Survived by her loving family; husband of 60 years Flavio, 8 children; Frank (Maria), Domenico (Sehimia), Maria (Jose), Italo, Pino (Maria), Alberto (Adriana), Fred and Rosa (Enzo), 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, also 2 sisters in Italy and many other relatives and friends. DRAKE, Wilson Binns. Wil (affectionately known as Bop, Boppa and Bopper), who was born on February 27, 1916, died peacefully on December 20, 2002. As was his wish, he was in the home he and Blanche created and cherished. His son Bruce Drake (Diana), daughters Carol Belanger (Peter) and Trudy Norton (Wayne), his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Irene Ironside, extended family and friends give thanks for the love, strength, support, wisdom, wry humour and practical knowledge and skills he so generously and dependably shared. There is comfort and blessing in the spiritual bond that continues to unite. A celebration of his life will be held April 17, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at Ioco United Church, 1790 Ioco Road, Port Moody, B.C. DUNN, Sheila Marie (nee Calnan) passed away peacefully December 19, 2002 at the age of 70 years. Predeceased by her husband Al. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by daughters, Laura (Glen), Caroline (John); grandchildren, Colin, Shannon and Robyn; sister, Cecil (Andrew); sister-in-law, Eleanor; brother-in-law Bill (Pat); her nieces, nephews and many dear friends. EDWARDS, Florence Agnes (nee Hamilton) Taken to serve the Lord - Our Creator, December 20, 2002 at Kelowna General Hospital. This magnificent Lady succumbed after overwhelming medical complications. Florence is survived and lovingly remember by husband Denis, sons, Kelly (Fylis) and Dean (Dawne); grandchildren, Kenny, Sydney and Alexander; sister Esther Megley of Edmonton and brother Bob of Barrhead, Alberta. Florence was born in Lamont, Alberta March 30, 1930 and was raised in Andrew, Alberta. Florence cared for the sick during her 40 year nursing throughout Canada, RCAF and Oregon. Thank you Kelowna General Hospital Staff 3 South, 3 East and especially ICU-CRITICAL CARE and the Volunteers. Without your care and compassion we couldn't have endured. And thank you to First Memorial Services for smoothing out her final journey. A Memorial Service in Vernon will be announced at a later date in early January. BARTLETT, Mandeville Fay was born in Orilla, Ontario, July 29, 1920. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Kay Bartlett. Together they had two sons and four grandchildren. David (Valerie) Axel and Jake. Alan (Diana) Katie and Travis. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Rouble, along with his many nieces and nephews. Known to many as "Bart" he enjoyed working at the CIBC for 42 years. Bart was a member of the Richmond Kinsmen, and was one of the founding members of the Vancouver East Rotary Club. Bart was also a member of the Masons for over 48 years. Bart served for five years during WWII. Bart and Kay travelled extensively throughout the world and enjoyed holidaying with their sons and families. Bart will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. BENSON, William Thomas. January 1st, 1923 - February 8th, 2003. Known to his many friends as Bill, his family loved him as "Pa". Wishing Bill eternal peace is his wife Helen (57 years); son Larry (Jan); grandchildren Shawn, Sarah, Nicholas; great-grandchildren Krystal and Kelsey; siblings Bert, Darlene, Don and predeceased by Betty, Bob. After the loss of his daughter Sandra (2000), Bill's heart has never been the same. We smile as we reminisce how Bill has touched our lives and we know that his spirit will always be in a safe port.
