Kwasnicki, Ronald
Ronald Joseph Kwasnicki, resident of Creston, BC passed away due to complication from diabetes on January 16, 2010 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 77 years.
Ron was born on November 4, 1932 to parents Katherine and Jacob Kwasnicki in Scout Lake, Sask. He moved to Creston in 1945 where he attended high school.
Ron had an electrical contracting business in Creston, Golden and Delta, BC before retiring in Creston at the family farm. He was an avid private pilot for many years and enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting. He was also a collector of anything that was a good deal.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Mabel and Anne Kwasnicki of Creston, daughter Susan (Bob) Poje, sons Ron Jr. (Kathy) and Tim (Jann) all of Delta, BC, and grandchildren Kyle and Ali Poje, Chris, Adam and Blake Kwasnicki and Katie and Jacob Kwasnicki.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday January 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the G. F. Oliver Funeral Chapel with Canon Randy Wood officiating. Interment of ashes to follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erickson, BC.
Greffard, John C.
John Charles Greffard passed away on January 16, 2010 in Wynndel, BC at the age of 66 years.
John was born on October 6, 1943 in Quebec. He moved to BC with wife Elke and daughter Monique in 1982, where he worked at the Huscroft Mill for many years. While building his life and family in the Creston Valley, John went on to have two more daughters, Nicole and Theresa. John was a proud, hard working father who always held his head high.
John will be greatly missed, Rest in peace J.C. Frog! We love you.
John was predeceased by his two sisters Denise and Renee. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Marcelle-Ann, daughters Monique, Nicole and Theresa, as well as first born grandson Philippe.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Thursday January 21, 2010 at the Greffard Residence in Wynndel, BC from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Halladay, Richard
Richard Silas Halladay passed December 1st, 2010 at the Swan Valley Lodge at the age of 85 years, with his family by his side. Richard was born to Frances and Conrad Halladay at Patience, Alberta on July 17th, 1925 and received his education at Thorsby, AB.
He was married to Nellie Moore on February 14th, 1952 and the couple raised five children. Richard enjoyed chariot racing, curling, hockey games, reading and wild life. He was a member of the Erickson Evangelical Covenant Church, Erickson Golden Agers, Creston Christian Businessmen and the East Kootenay Chariot Racing Assn.
He was predeceased by his parents and ten siblings. Richard will dearly missed by his wife Nellie, children Harry ( Charleen ) Halladay, Vanessa ( Ken ) Grimm, Wenonah Halladay, Brian ( Karin ) Halladay and Debbie Marion, grandchildren Kurt ( Wendy ), Corey ( Cherylee ), Leasa ( Sean ), Jonathan ( Jody ), Aaron, Matt, Josh (Heather), Robynn ( Ryan ), Andrew (Michelle), Brice, Kyle & Jenny, nine great grandchildren, one brother Edge ( Norma ) Halladay and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Celebration of Life Service was held on Monday December 6th, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Erickson Evangelical Covenant Church with Pastor Doug Stapleton officiating. A private family entombment of ashes took place in the Bella Columbarium, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC prior to the service.

Adrian Andestad
March 17, 1932 – September 27, 2010
Born in 1932 at home in Wynndel to Reidar and Georgina Andestad, Adrian lived and worked the majority of his life in Wynndel and the Creston Valley.
In his teens, he was employed at the Wynndel Packing Shed when Wynndel was a prime fruit producing location.
Married to Margaret (Plourd) in 1953, Adrian then worked in the Creston CPR express office.
From 1959 to 1963 Adrian was a member of the Creston Volunteer Fire Department, serving both as a fire fighter and as Fire Chief.
Adrian’s career included work in both gas and electrical utilities.
With employment at Canadian Propane Ltd as a service man and gasfitter, he eventually became Branch Manager in Creston. His gas fitting work also took him to Kamloops and Powell River.
He worked with West Kootenay Power first as a lineman in Crawford Bay and later in the administration office of WKP in Creston, retiring in 1994.
Prior to retirement, Adrian and Margaret operated Alpine Apiaries for several years turning his extensive knowledge of bee-keeping into a home business.
Adrian had a life-long love of airplanes and had much enjoyment building his own planes and as a member of the Creston RC Model Airplane Club.
In later years he endured the loss of his independence to Alzheimer’s Disease with great courage.
Predeceased by son, Robert Andestad, he is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, daughter Gail Andestad of Comox, son Keith and daughter-in-law France Andestad of Fairmont, grandchildren Cole Andestad and Morgan Potter of Fairview, AB, and Morgan Elizabeth Hoffert and Evan Hoffert of Fairmont, sisters Evelyn Jackson of Erickson and Sheila McLaughlin of Calgary, sisters-in-law Elaine Bateman of Vulcan, AB and Marie Kwasnicki of Cold Lake, AB and many nieces and nephews.

Billey, Pearl
February 26, 1922 – September 26, 2010
It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother Pearl Billey at the age of 88 years. Pearl was born in Wahstao, Alberta and went to school in White Earth and was married to her husband, Peter Billey in Edwand, Alberta. Peter and Pearl moved to Coleman, Alberta; Kitchener, British Columbia and then settled in Canyon for many years and finally moved into Creston, British Columbia. Pearl’s greatest love was her family and her hospitality knew no boundaries – there was always room for another plate at the table. She had many hobbies and interests such as baking, cooking, sewing, knitting, crosswords, fishing and of course Reno.
Pearly was predeceased by her husband Peter, son Peter Roy, five brothers: Roy, Art, Alex, Andy and Victor and sister-in-law, Evelyn.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son Marshall (Marlene), daughter Donna (Gene); grandchildren Pamela, Jason, Colby, and Justin; great grandchildren: Colton, Courtenay, Lexi, Teija, Caydence and Jaiden; brothers; Tommy and Wally (Lena); sisters: Helen (Gordon), Vickie (Bert) and sisters-in-law Elva, Karen and Marge.
We would like to extend our thanks to the staff of Crestview Village for their wonderful care of our Mother.
We will all miss you every day and cherish our happy memories of you.

Moberg, Roy
Roy Ludwig Moberg passed away after a short battle with cancer on November 10, 2010 in Creston, BC, at the age of 74 years.
Roy was born on January 16, 1936 in Creston, BC to parents Anna and Ludwig Moberg. He also did his education here in Creston. Roy was married to Pauline Holoboff on April 16, 1955 in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
He enjoyed curling and bowling and was a member of the Creston Valley Shiners.
Roy was predeceased by his wife Pauline, brothers Vic and Ed and his parents, Anna and Ludwig.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Danny (Louise) Moberg, Marlene (Tom) Walton, Doug Moberg and Ron (Kerri) Moberg, sister Anne-Marie Keely, sisters-in-law Jen Moberg and Kathy Lesenko, brother-in-law John (Kathy) Zarchukoff, nine grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service to be held Monday November 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Canon Randy Wood officiating.
A private family interment of ashes took place at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.
