Mrs. Janet Lois Cartwright
October 16, 1922 - June 14, 2007
On Thursday, June 14, 2007, our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away at Richmond Hospital.
Janet was born on October 16, 1922 in Fassett, Quebec.
She is survived by her loving husband Bill, sons Paul (Mary), Bill (Janice), and George (Beverly), grandchildren Jennifer, Kathy, Geoffrey, Andrea, Kimberly, Christopher, and Quinn, sisters Catherine of Victoria, B.C., Joan (Henry) of Calgary, AB, Carol (Mac) of Williamstown, ON, predeceased by her sister Peggy (Joseph) of Powassan, ON, and her brother Bobby of Ottawa, ON.
Lois served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II as a WD (Women's Division) principally in Victoria, B.C.
She met Bill on the train while she was returning from leave at her parents' home in Powassan and he was returning from air force service overseas.
They married shortly afterwards and initially spent time in Bill's hometown of Revelstoke, B.C. before enjoying many years raising their family as they moved around the country and Europe before finally settling in Richmond in 1969.
Lois was a bright spark in the community and enjoyed curling, bike riding, and especially figure skating which she pursued into her 80's.
She was a generous and caring person, and an excellent homemaker. She made the best apple pies in the world.
Service to be held at Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road Richmond, Friday, June 22nd at 1:00 PM.

Mrs. Gloria May Gagno
February 28, 1956 - July 8, 2007
Gloria May Gagno passed away suddenly in her home on July 8, 2007 at the age of 51.
Leaves her loving husband Danny, son Angus and daughter Laurena.
Will be sorely missed by parents Ken & Laura Fisher and sisters Christine and Janet and her many friends.
Memorial Service to be held at Richmond Home, 8420 Cambie Road, Richmond, B.C. at 1:00 pm, Sunday, July 15, 2007.
Mr. Steve Baron
August 27, 1921 - June 1, 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Baron on June 1st, 2007.
He is lovingly remembered and will be greatly missed by all his family: loving wife Audrey; son Wayne (Sandra); daughter Donna; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Coreena and Carrie; his brothers, Michael (Irene), Archie (Jean); sister Isobel (Bill) and all his nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Annie (nee Maluga); his sister Matilda and sister Nellie; grandson Kevin and granddaughter Jackie.
Steve was born at home in Heights River, MB August 27, 1921, the eldest of 6 children.
As a boy he worked for the Allum Brothers Farms.
Although the work was hard he remembered those years with happiness.
He later went on to work for Bell Bottling as a driver and delivery person.
His career as a switchman for the CNR began in the late 30's until he retired in 1975.
He married his lifetime friend and partner Audrey in 1942 in Dauphin, MB.
They later moved to Winnipeg and in 1958 they bought and operated Stradbrook Nursing Home until 1969.
Steve and Audrey's passion for caring for elderly people continued and when they moved to Richmond, B.C. they built Fraserview Intermediate Care Lodge.
Steve continued to work on the CNR as well as the nursing home through all those years.
He became a Freemason in Winnipeg, MB January 1970 with Meridian Lodge 140.
When he moved to Richmond, B.C. he affiliated with Centennial King George No 171.
He was a member of the Gizeh Temple and Tsawwassen Shrine Club.
He was also an Honorary member of Abbotsford Shrine Club.
The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the physicians and nurses at Richmond Hospital for their compassionate care.
A Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road, Richmond, B.C.
Interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Surrey, B.C.

Mr. Michael Hamilton Atcheson
June 20, 1968 - July 29, 2007
Michael Atcheson, loving father of Austin who currently lives in Peachland, B.C. passed away unexpectedly at the age of 39 in the Grey Nuns Community Hospital on Saturday, July 28, 2007.
Sadly, Michael’s maternal grandmother, Rose Olivier passed away on the same day in Drummondville, Quebec at the age of 95.
Michael was born in Toronto on June 20, 1968 and lived the first 6 months of his life in Sept Iles, Quebec.
He then moved to the Toronto area where he lived for 10 years before moving to Sherwood Park, Alberta in January 1979 where he lived until his passing.
Michael graduated from Madonna elementary school and Archbishop Jordon high school in Sherwood Park.
He then attended Concordia University and the University of Alberta.
While living in Rome Italy from June 1987 to June 1989, Michael attended John Cabot University in Rome.
Michael is survived by his loving mother Francoise (nee Olivier), father Bob and brother Tim.
Michael will be dearly missed by his family including his uncle John and aunt Brenda Atcheson from Kitchener, Ontario; his uncle Jean and aunt Carole Olivier from Otter Burn Park, Quebec; his uncle and Godfather Guy Olivier from Cap Rouge, Quebec; his uncle Francois and aunt Florence Olivier from Riviere Ouelle, Quebec; his uncle Rene and aunt Hughette Olivier from Windsor, Quebec; and his aunt Pauline and uncle Bob Vatcher from Lethbride, Alberta.
Michael will be dearly missed by his two surviving great-aunts – aunt Jeanne Beaumier from Drummondville, Quebec, and aunt Marie Steadman from Winter Park, Florida.
His cousins will dearly miss Michael on the Atcheson side of his family – Dan and Jill from Kitchener, Ontario; and on the Olivier side of his family – Jose, Patrick, Daniel, Annabelle, Stephane, Caroline, Helene, Serge, Natalie, Annie, Sebastien, and Sylvian from Quebec; and Gordon and Sonya from Lethbridge, Alberta.
Michael will be missed by his friends D’Arcy Templeton and Lorna McCallum from Vancouver, and Darcy and Louise Lalor from St Albert who offered loving and caring support to him throughout many difficult years of struggles with life.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Michael’s memory to Caritas Hospital Foundation, Grey Nuns Critical Care Donation Fund or to the Edmonton Humane Society.
