KOOL, Ediythe (Mickey) Norma Saturday, 25 Aug 2007
Parksville, BC
Edythe (Mickey) Norma Kool, born in Montreal, Quebec on May 3, 1917 passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at Nanaimo General Hospital on August 25, 2007 with her family by her side.
Mickey is survived by two daughters; Dawn Carole Hurst and Heather Norma Maskell, by four grandchildren; Keith & Kevin McKinnell, Jo Anne Maskell-Brown and Christifer Maskell and five great grandchildren. Mickey is pre-deceased by three sisters and two brothers, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mickey worked for T. Eaton Co. for 27 years. She was also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve during the mid 1950’s and early 1960’s
In the year 2000 she moved from Montreal to Qualicum Beach to be close to her family who resided in the area.
Mickey was a very independent and self reliant lady. She was extremely generous and would be there to help anyone in need. On moving to Qualicum she quickly became involved in the local retirement community. Her hallmark was having a joke to tell, some of them were pretty bad, but it was those that got the biggest laugh, which was all she wanted to give her friends.
Finally, she was a staunch and loyal Canadian who loved her country. Mickey will always be remembered and loved by her family and many friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Kingston, Dr. Carriage, Dr. Mitchel and Catherine, and the other nurses on the third floor.
On the wings of a Butterfly, Mom, we’re letting go with love.
No service by request.
